Hi mate, from Australia. I'm 5f 11 and can sleep full length in my crosstrek by moving the driver's seat forward and putting my esky on the floor behind the seat. I have a tri-fold mattress which is very compact and pillow goes on esky. Works great. But only occasionally lol.
Thanks for this video. Mazda3 hatchback owner here, I’m 6’2 and can fit into the back without too much trouble. I’ve been really interested in the Crosstrek and I wondered how it would do for camping. Guess I won’t fit in the back, but I still really like the Crosstrek for its overall utility.
I’m 6’2 and I can fully lay down in my 2019 crosstrek super comfortably. Just put one of the seats all the way forward, put a cooler or something else on the ground in between the rear seats and front seat so that it is level with the folded down rear seats. Put a little sleeping mat in there, and you should be able to sleep fully stretched out very comfortably.
I didn’t try that, but honestly this isn’t a bad way to go. If you move the seats all the way up it’s pretty comfy. I’ve done it a few times since making this video. The down side is if you have a lot of gear/luggage in your car, that’s gotta go somewhere while you sleep. I have a big pelican box that I put a lot of my stuff in when I camp and I can just move that outside at night. 3 nights and you’d be fine.

There’s also several videos on YT showing how people built platforms, I usually use a smaller ice chest with backpack on it. Drivers seat is clearly not forward and would’ve been room for mattress pillow. Work smarter not harder?
Are you sure it’s a slow leak? Most of those air mattresses have instructions that tell you to sleep in it for 3-4 nights before normal use because the material expands. Hope this helps.

@Jackson Barry hi mate. With passenger seat all the way forward the diagonal measurement was 2metres. That's about 6ft 6 inches

6'3" and im able to fit comfortably in the back curled up as i normally sleep. I stay on one half and load the other half with gear.
Put the screens on front windows! Then crawl in and out of the back doors!

I have since done that and yes. Still snug but I fit. Certainly wouldn’t do it with a second person
