❤Colours Idioms❤ ❤Born with a silver spoon - some one who is born in a rich family. ❤To catch someone red handed - to get some one doing something wrong. ❤White lie - a lie which doesn't hurt anyone feelings. ❤Tickled pink - to be pleasant with some one. ❤Yellow bellied - a crowd person. ❤Talk a blue steak - to talk to much. ❤Black sheep of a family - a person who is disgrace in a grp.
Nice video! Even I learnt something new: to talk a blue streak. I looked it up and apparently it's an American expression. But we use all the other expressions in Australia as well :).
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Noe Ahmed i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I was a black cheep of my family but Jesus made me. someone i where not.My family loves now, thanks to Jesus next i tickeld pink to him i don't care about people who talk blue streak.
Niharika Mam I like your lessons very much. I'm watching your channel just few days but I've learnt most of useful things. I've started to watch your lessons from beginning. Please wish me.
Out of the blue- randomly, without warning, surprisingly Example: “That storm came out of the blue and I didn’t have an umbrella!” Green with envy- to be very jealous, envious Example: “Katie was green with envy when she saw you got a new car for your birthday.” Gray area- something that is unclear, undefined Example: The issue of allowing mobile phones in the classroom is a gray area right now- it could go either way. Caught red-handed- to catch someone in the act of doing something Example: “He was caught red-handed while stealing those candy bars.” Green thumb- to be skilled at gardening Example: “My mother has a green thumb- she can make anything grow!” Once in a blue moon- very rarely Example: “Once in a blue moon you will see that mean professor smile.” Take the red eye- a late night flight that arrives early in the morning Example: “I took the red eye from California to New York last night and now I am exhausted.”
'White lie' reminds me of a song that this idiom was used in,it goes like this"my little white lies tell a story,i have seen it all it has no glory".Its called 'look at me' by Geri Halliwell 😊💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 not only this idiom but also 'tickled pink' was used in a Red Hot Chili Peppers song called 'Power of equality',though the lyrics is a bit angsty and ahem uncensored,i would request some of you to listen to the song on ur own.
May I make a suggestion? The idiom "to explain sth to sb till one is blue in the face" is also a nice one. For those who don't know it, keep in mind that it simply means to struggle to explain sth to sb even though it is pointless because the person who receives the explanation doesn't understand anything.
hi niharika ma'am even me too...wants to have a lesson on the words that have almost same meanings...but used in different references like wedding and marriage, tell and speak, look, watch, view and see, purchase and buy...etc. so please make such one lesson on these words.
They mean to same thing. "I want to buy a new car," "I want to purchase a new car." "OK, whose going to buy the cake for his birthday party?", "OK, whose going to purchase the cake for his birthday party?"
No that's is incorrect. To speculate means forming a conclusion without firm (or good) evidence. The key part is firm, or good evidence, not 'without' evidence.
I like your way of teaching apart from Adam and James in EngVid. I love to use of idioms in a sentence especially when speaking. Thanks for the nice video. By the way, It's not a white lie. I take this opportunity to wish u happy holi.
