  • Good morning wonderful people,
Today is the day of my mother's memorial, and although such a private affair, I wanted to honour her life in my way, and as I have chosen to be very public here on TH-cam, I am going to speak about her in the best way I know how... With love, respect and honour.
My mother made us laugh, often, with her silliness and funny ways, her superstitions, her stories.
But she was a woman of string faith, and that faith sustained her through difficult times.
    She loved unconditionally, never wavering!
I admired her deeply and wish I'd told her that!
Thank you for allowing me to share a small part of her life here, as we as a family, remember her life together today.

Dysfunctional families are difficult. Even grieving is tough because the family doesn't pull together! This has been really heartbreaking for me, but I have found that LOVE is a powerfully changing force. I can't change my family members, but I can love them with a fierce and unconditional love, and that changes the experience for me xo

I am so proud to be part of this loving family too, but I will never discount what my father has taught me. Through his life, I have learned to look deeper into the hearts of other people. The people who hurt us the most, are the very people who have the most unresolved hurt. They cling to their wounds, thinking that showing them will make them weak. The only difference between the narcissist and the co-dependent, is the co-dependent is able to be vulnerable and allows themselves to feel their wound, which allows them to heal. The narcissist protects that wound fiercely, preventing their healing and building higher and higher walls between themselves and others. This is the greatest sadness for me xo

I loved your mom. She was a lady who was caring, she had a sense of humour, and in the little time I got to know her, so many years after I got to know you, I never heard your mom speak a bad word about anyone. Her very fleeting moments in my life certainly left lasting impressions ❤

My mom passed away 3 years ago and I watched her struggle with dementia that got continually worse. So tragic to watch our loved ones suffer with this disease.

It's a dreadful disease Gail, and affects so many people. Watching my mother fade away, made me feel so helpless at times. I'm sorry for your loss xox
