Thankfully Nick didn't add an extra drum or any other unauthorized trinkets or we'd have the "Shell pack title mismatch critics" melt down in a rage like they did on his last review.
At first glance, this kit looks like the most expensive toy kit ever built. Nick looks like a kid at Christmas. LOL! But man, the tone is legit! Love it.
I bought this kit to convert it to an electronic drum and let me tell you it's not just gorgeous, but the size is 100% perfect for my plans! It's a blast to play on and a true eye candy! This video gave me the idea and i'm glad i found it... Thanks Nick!
Well I saw this shell set in a shop and tried it out. This drummer here does make it sound a lot better than I did!!!! And do not forget the cymbals, which do make a difference. Again I can here that Sweetwater has a very good drummer ! Peace!
I have this kit and it’s a beautiful finish and hardware. I added bongos., mini LP Conga, another Tama floor Tom and Ludwig 8 x 10 snare and of course, Floor cowbell with bass drum beater. I always try Sweetwater first and the mounting hardware from there has been perfect with fast delivery. Wish they sold the Ludwig internal muffler with plastic outside washer, a must have item. Sweetwater is always first on our searches.
Nice kit! I have this kit, and it’s indeed compact and great for fitting into small places. Those extra bass drum fittings can make it a really compact setup. It was also very nice to hear the kit, due to lockdown i’ve only played mine with mesh heads. :-) Can’t wait to try some coated Ambassadors or Emperors on it!
Damn Nick is killing it with the chops in this video! So glad to see him do the Flyer. I have one of these I converted to an e-drum kit with a TD-17 module. It's amazing. I've actually never played it acoustically, but it sounds great!
I’ve had my flyer kit since July and absolutely love it!! I now have 4 Tama kits (other 3 are Star Classic, Superstar Classic and a Rockstar DX) this one is so much fun to play. Switched to emperor coated heads and an emperor x reverse dot on the snare and got great low tone from these little drums. I’ve been waiting for Nick to do a review on these🤘
I have a sonor martini aq2 and is a war machine. These micro drum sets are a must if you play on small gigs or to practice in your house. I think the martini aq2 (7ply maple) sounds better imo.
2ply reso head on toms. Unorthodox but cuts the high over tones from the toms. Also, Evans HD Dry(if available for 10") would make the snare vibrant. What a killer kit!
I got this kit for my son's 1st birthday and he has played it almost every week since he has it and to be honest I have used it for boomy venues with low ceilings and hard floors works really well The only thing bad about it is that is sits pretty low to the ground and the floor Tom can be a little tricky to tune
Played one of these at my local music store today. The toms are a little too high pitched for my taste but the kick and snare sound awesome. Very fun kit to play.
I have this kit and love it. Believe it or not you can order a 14 inch Aquarian SuperKick bass drum head. That little 14 inch bass has some punch with the Aquarian head!
This would be a great hybrid kit with a TM-6 pro or the EAD-10, or as a small A2E conversion kit with 2 ply mesh heads and side mount triggers. I was looking at buying Ludwig breakbeats for conversion kit, however this looks really nice as well. This would look much nicer on stage than my Roland td-17 kit while still be small and compact. Definitely considering buying this kit
Omg...I was about to say tge kit is so cute...then I saw Little Nick! ❤️❤️❤️. Tell Little Nick I have good news for him. There’s a channel called Miniature Drums, and they have some just his size! BTW that kit sounds great!
Yet another stunning example of the simple fact NO ONE is doing what Meinl is doing. Their pie plates are like no others out there. My personal faves are their MB10 (for live punk rock touring), the new Custom Alloys (recording, rehearsals), and these dry jazz cymbals here. Love em. Keep your Zildjians, these are MODERN and tradt’l sounds for the working & playing musician.
i bought this set for my daughter (2nd birthday). I caught her climbing up/"experimenting" on my full sized kit too many times for safety (falling hazard) and decided that it wouldn't hurt to have a small drum set laying around (if not for her, I got plenty of kid cousins/nieces/nephews/neighbors who could appreciate the fun of this kit). I paired it with the TAMA CLASSIC PEDAL (adjusts "high or low" perfectly for center hitting this tiny kick drum). I used an old PDP double leg hi hat stand... I mounted the snare to the hit hat stand with a PEARL adjustable cowbell L-Arm (it can take the weight of the snare and the "free floating" snare style is super clean), WUHAN cymbals (10" hi hats and 12" splash). I placed the splash on the kick mounted tom-stand utility clamp (took a metal grinder to an old cymbal stand and made a straight, 6 inch cymbal mount). For seating, I used a child's drum throne from a cheap, "First Act" toy drum set. Also got the Vic Firth "Kids Sticks" and the "Doctor Meter" children's noise reduction headphones (tried them myself. They barely fit me but the noise reduction was more than satisfactory). At two years old, she's 34" tall and I'm able to adjust all toms and snares to her size (hi hats a little high but she'll grow)....I cant, however, get her feet reach the pedals at this point. The throne I found (bought second hand) is about 16 inches from toes to butt. I could def take the metal grinder to the chair to lower it, but at her age I expect her to need it taller before she needs it shorter. All in all, if you want to have drums for the child in your life that sound legitimate and have the options/features to make a real, quality kit (as opposed to a simple "drum set looking" toy), I would highly recommend this kit. Worst case scenario. I end up with a travel kit for myself if none of the children ever take to drums.....but the Best case scenario is the children in my life (from an early age) engage with this kit and it leads them down a path of musicianship. Tama drum kit - (with taxes, CA) - $410 Tama "the classic pedal" - $100 Wuhan 10" hi hats - $90 (no tax, CA , if ordered from DrumsOfPortsmouth) Wuhan 12" splash - $40 (no tax, CA , if ordered from DrumsOfPortsmouth) Pearl L-Arm percussion clamp - $40 Dremell tool ($55 - home depot) was used to saw off all but "6 inches" of a cymbal stand (for the 12" splash mounted to the kick) and will likely be used again to take a few inches off the hit hat stand. PS- shout out to "Drums of Portsmouth"....excellent costumer service, excellent selection. I was able to buy almost everything from these people. Wish I woulda bought it all from them (drums/shells weren't bought by individuals.
Does anybody know what Nick is doing at 1:13? It seem like he is doing some kind of 32nd note double stroke rolls between the hi-hat and the snare with a single stroke on the snare? Anybody know the sticking for this cool little lick?
Sweet, I’m mostly interested in the kick drum, that being said I may be better off just getting a conversion kit for $30. Cool kit though I’d be happy go own one.
What can we say, it's a jam to play!! Keep jamming with Nick D. and your favorite percussion gear by liking, commenting, and subscribing!
Thankfully Nick didn't add an extra drum or any other unauthorized trinkets or we'd have the "Shell pack title mismatch critics" melt down in a rage like they did on his last review.
If you're going to have someone show you what can be done on a kit, Nick is the person, indisputably.
JD Beck would be a equal or better contender but Nick is rippin too!!!
Facts! Nick is the man for the job!
Him, and Ralf from Drum-Tec are two of the best drummers on TH-cam, and they both mostly demo gear.
@@jambajoby32 JD Beck is freaking awesome, I love his drumming!
@@demonicsweaters Definitely...Can't forget about Ralf.
Perfect for a small space, along with his 22" hi-hats and 30" ride. Nick tore that up.
That “little Nick” skit at the end was a nice touch, greatly appreciated, and it’s effort didn’t go unnoticed by me. Thanks!
❤️👍🏼
@@sweetwater I'm dying laughing here.. this is excellent stuff!
From 1:13 to 1:27 Nick plays some of the greatest fills I've ever heard on any kit of any size. Dude's just a beast.
i know im 3 years late . that lick is called the Steve Gadd lick
This is hands down Nicks most impressive performance. I don’t know what happened but he SHOWED UP on this one! That intro was dirty!
Man Nick! You truly proved that it’s not the drums but the drummer behind them that make the music
While NDV is a world class drummer, I've jammed on this kit a few times. Its a nice drum set. He also put good heads and played on nice cymbals on it.
Nick is a great drummer. He can make even a DW drum set sound good
LOL
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bruh 🤣
Spicy.
I wasn’t sold until Little Nick showed up - now I’m getting one.
Nick literally does the best reviews...puts everything on youtube to shame.
I never tire watching Nick play.......he makes it look effortless, brilliant. The kit sounds good too🙂
Nick would make a trash can sound good...dudes got chops
One of the best presenter/ Drummers out there. Always entertaining.
Awesome sound in the hands of Nick as usual. Great drummer!
It’s always a pleasure to hear Nick play and share expertise. I love buying stuff from Sweetwater! Such a great staff and tons of killer gear.
WHAT AN INTRO!!!! This guy is really good!
what a great first kit for a starting young drummer. Love Tama.
Haha poor nick trying to say the whole name without mumbling 😂😂😂 great video btw!! Nick clearly knows how to make ANY kit sound good
Tama never disappoints!
At first glance, this kit looks like the most expensive toy kit ever built. Nick looks like a kid at Christmas. LOL! But man, the tone is legit! Love it.

The Skit in the end is gold!
Nick straight up flexing on the intro, ha.
That playing was outstanding

Do you have it as your main kit or do you have a larger kit too?
Freaking Nick D just ripping that opening track a new one!! Love it!
Let's be honest, Nick could make a set of rusty buckets played with hammers sound amazing. BUT this kit is really pretty and sounds awesome!
Damn Nick is killing it with the chops in this video! So glad to see him do the Flyer. I have one of these I converted to an e-drum kit with a TD-17 module. It's amazing. I've actually never played it acoustically, but it sounds great!
Your playing is really amazing. You’re a MASTER!!!!
The “little one” sounds very, very,……good. 🤩🤩
Great. Now I wanna a see a full review by little Nick!!!
Love what you do Nick! Incredible playing and so positive. Products are presented so well.
I love those dry cymbals. Drum set okay.

That’s how to play and jam. Very good video and Nick, you are the man!.
Came for the drum demo, LOVED the playing!
Man, I didn't know John Stewart was such a kick ass drummer!
Holy moly Nick! Your killing it! Wow! Awesome
Santa... I've been good this year. This kit has great tone! Love me some Tama drums and Nick's playing? I mean come on now. Great video!
Those cymbals fit nice on that kit.
1:30 Yo the the Adam Tuminaro fill🔥

i cant quite cope with this intro, Nicks playing is so beautiful🔥
Yes its obviously a very decent kit, but its always about Nick and his wonderful drumming
That drumming was so good.
Nick killing it as usual...
Nice kit and awesome playing... As usual!
Played one of these at my local music store today. The toms are a little too high pitched for my taste but the kick and snare sound awesome. Very fun kit to play.
Nick, man you are some seriously amazing player!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the decay in the cymbals

I love this Tama club dram flun drum kit!
Best Nick D vid ever !! 😁 👍 🎄 ❄❄❄

Wuhan 12" splash - $40 (no tax, CA , if ordered from DrumsOfPortsmouth)

The very end is gold 😂
I have this Jama Blub Cram Scrum Kite - and it’s awesome!
from 1:10 to 1:34 is pure fire
Hell yeah play those drums Nick kroll!!
I would use both toms as rack toms, as 8" and 10" is my way to go, even with regular size floor toms, snare kick drum.
Damn. Dvirgillio got his swag back.
To hec with the kit, Nick is ripping it up on this track 🔥🔥🔥
That kit is so charming and sweet I will actually love one but still don't have fund for it's purchase thou
Damn, that intro track slaps! Cred to the composer and your drumming!
The drum sounds great.
Nice mixing.
NDV smokes!! Amazing!
small drums, big cymbals, nice! 😊
Its a high end kids kit.
Exactly. This did inspire me to cut down an old drum kit to make it take up less space. Otherwise, this is for kids.
SO EFFORTLESS! Love Nick's playing!
it's not the arrow, it's the archer...such a premier drummer there.... Great vids Sweetwater's
The best I’ve ever heard from you
He might not be able to pronounce the Tama Club-jam kit but he sure can play them !!!!!!
Nick: Dominates small kit with 14 inch kick and 8 and 10 inch toms
Also Nick: Club dram
#clubdram
I moved my tom over, added a Timbale with cowbell. Small venue genre reggae, Latin etc
Ive been waiting for this
Does anybody know what Nick is doing at 1:13? It seem like he is doing some kind of 32nd note double stroke rolls between the hi-hat and the snare with a single stroke on the snare? Anybody know the sticking for this cool little lick?
I'd love to just have that intro as it's own song
Brilliant video as always
Excellent review
Nice chops and cool kit! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
That's some tasty playing.
Dude, the ride is bigger than the entire drum kit combined 🤣🤣🤣
Nick D'Virgilio has the ability to make ANYTHING sound amazing, dammit!
Sweet, I’m mostly interested in the kick drum, that being said I may be better off just getting a conversion kit for $30. Cool kit though I’d be happy go own one.
going to have to make me one of these outta my spares collection =]
1:12 ohh that Steve Gadd lick 🔥
Killin’ it Nick!
Nick is a badass
Such a great review, thank you!
well...Nick D is going to make ANY kit sound amazing! so...there's that...😅
