      Is this beautiful and sublime recording available on CD or other formats? If not, it’s very sad that this opportunity to preserve this magical performance has been missed. I’ve tried looking for this many times. Why wasn’t this made into a live album? ❤

    She had this way of doling out her stories so that her audience didn't think to breathe between lines. I saw Nanci live once, and will never, ever forget her music. Sorry, Madonna - Nanci was the soundtrack to my late 80s/early 90s.

A true humble beautiful artist now at rest. What a wealth of songs and legacy she left. May she rest in peace. She will live forever through her mountain of musical memories! I was so lucky to have discovered these three women early in their careers, along with Alison and Emmylou. I have seen them all in concert. I saw them all before they became real famous. The only singer missing from this pantheon is Mary Black, to whom I handed roses as she walked off the stage of The Birchmere. Long live real songwriting and real music. I am a member of the luckiest music generation.

    As we end this year, 2021, in all but 2 weeks, I am reminded that we and the music world has lost so many gifted and talented souls the last near 20 months because of Covid-19 -- a virus that takes the very breath from you. Nanci was one of these who left us too soon, not just as a singer/songwriter, but as a kind and thought-provoking humane being, just like these other two dear folks who grace the stage with their presence. Thank you for having recorded this live at The Bottom Line way way back near where and when it all began. Older, wiser and honest colleagues who can sing their darn hearts out!!

    So glad this came up in my feed. It was all good, but for me MCC completely stole the show! Perfect, from the humour in ‘I Feel Lucky’ to the sensitivity of ‘The Moon and St. Christopher’ she had the audience, and me, in the palm of her hand. Enjoyed this greatly...Roseanne has that angst in her songs and Nanci ( I hate that "Once in a very blue Moon" wasn't played)...is just a sweet heart of humility. But Mary Chapin, she's the one I fall in love with after the first notes and grow to be desperately in love with by the end of the song!

  • @cdeberg1
    @cdeberg1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    At various stages of my life, these three women have been my "favorite" female artist. Nanci's voice and songs make me whimsical, almost homesick. "Love at the 5 and Dime." I want to order a root beer float from the counter right now. Then Mary Chapin Carpenter and "Passionate Kisses" came along, about the time I fell in love. MCC's voice is like honey and tea. As for Roseanne, her voice is more like whiskey and soda. It evokes pain & heartache, and of tortured parents. Love her song "What's the Temperature, Darling?" With cell phones, we no longer ask our lover what temperature is at home. We just google it. There are a few Roseanne "haters" on this thread, and you can all jump in a frigid lake. Read her autobiography and then render an opinion (on second thought, such haters probably don't read!).

    Listen To The Radio is one of those songs that takes me into my past and back to my present. I love to listen to my radio (just wish it would come in better sometimes). Now I spend more time listening to TH-cam...So happy for that! Thank you Uncle Remus for this wonderful video.

    What a wonderful show! But such a pity to have it interrupted with so many untimely ads.
