Ben got through to her, which would go under Uma being a little too trusting, it had nothing to do with Mal. 3. Lauryn only played Dr.Facilier's daughter in WW because *China* did originally but then casted her as Uma so they used Lauryn since they are sisters.

I honestly never hated uma. I didn't have an opinion on her at first but when I started to read the novels and become a deeper descendants fan, I realized that she's such a powerful and selfless character that the "Good" people call a villain. I honestly really think that Uma is sweet. Like, she may look sarcastic and insensitive on the outside, but on the inside she has such a big heart and cares about everyone. Like, in that seen in D2, when she helped Harry (which really took me by surprise considering that REAL villains don't help others), she could've actually caught up to Mal on time if she hadn't helped him when he called her. But no, she chose him over Mal. And in D3, when Mal got blasted by Audrey several times trying to save Celia, Uma could've just walked away, but NO! She CHOSE to help Mal. WHY?! BECAUSE she CARES!
I read the third novel of Descendants. And i found out why she turned evil. Mal called her shrimpy when they were just kids. And Mal left her alone in the Isle.

Actually, this is what happened in “Rise of the Isle of the Lost”: Mal and Uma, kids at the time, were on the boat where people of the Isle scavenge for Auradon leftovers. They had just poured a slimy liquid on the planks so that when Cruella came, she would slip. Then they decided to pour another bucket of the slimy stuff to make it even more slippery. But Mal and Uma fought over who would get to pour it, so they did kind of like a tug of war to get the bucket. Uma ended up pulling with so much force that Mal stumbled backward onto the slime, causing her to slide over and fall into the water. Uma couldn’t help but laugh for a few seconds before she remembered that Mal could t swim and rushed to see if she was okay. Apparently Mal caught hold of a rung on the side of the ship and was fine, so Mal was mad at Uma for laughing and dumped a bucket of shrimp on her hair. The smell never faded away completely, no matter how many showers Uma took. She then obviously went on to call her Shrimpy because of that

She had never admitted before and in third book she finally admitted that she was terrible person at core four’s meeting. But still keep acting like it had never been her that the one who started rivalry. That’s why she’s trying so hard to act like she doesn’t care about rivalry and always insists that “I don’t hate Uma, Uma hates me”.
I really want Hades to be Uma’s dad too. The way that Uma and Mal are stronger when using the stone thing together. I also think it would make their story so much better

Technically Uma should’ve turned into half squid and half human just like Ursula... I was watching an interview with Pat Carroll the actress who voiced Ursula in the 1989 movie The Little Mermaid and she said that Ursula was half squid because of you look closely at Ursula she only has six tentacles like a squid instead of eight like an octopus and she said the reason for this was because at the time it was too expensive to have all eight and that they would’ve gone over budget and that there was difficulty coordinating the eight tentacles though she does resemble more octopus and has eight limbs if you include the arms...
