Later on he does as she asks and brings her friend back from death. No big show, no bargaining, just does it. Then give Mal the ember with no strings attached. He actually seems like the most caring parent out if all of them. Knowing Makificent, it may have been an issue that Hades, powerless, became little different from any other man and actually cared about his daughter, but Makificent didn't like the influence he would be and essentially kicked him out. "If you come back, I'll kill her." Or something like that. We don't know. Or Maybe he knew he'd be a shit parent overall and actually thought he was doing better by her by staying away.

Caitlin the books mention that any villains that canonically died were brought back by order of the Beast by the magic of the Fairy Godmother so they can be punished by being exiled to the Isle of the Lost. So technically, Gaston died then was brought back to be put on the isle, at least that’s what the books indicate.

I wish there was a video on whether or not the descendants were actually raised by parents doing their best. Mal was raised by a woman who only knew how to be evil, and by her own admission, taught Mal the same lessons her own mother had passed down to her, she also shared a name with Mal that shares her own power (according to fairy lore). Jay taught his son all the lessons that he knew had succeeded in Aladdin becoming everything Jafar wanted for himself; Aladdin was a kind thief who could survive anything in a terrible situation for years, yet still, protect someone weaker than himself even when he is outmatched or overpowered, and Jay was raised to be the diamond in the rough. Evie was taught everything that the Queen herself knew, as well as everything that she believed made Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty become princesses and queens. Remember how proudly Evie told Charming that she could cook and clean and sew? she wasn't ashamed of it, she was gloating about her skills. Even Carlos was kept in the safest place that Cruella could devise because she kept her treasures all in only one place-her closet. I love how mal’s hair changes depending on who she’s close to. It was purple with Maleficent, it got lighter in 2 and then when she connects with Hades *Spoiler alert* her hair turns blue

I wish there was a video on whether or not the descendants were actually raised by parents doing their best. Mal was raised by a woman who only knew how to be evil, and by her own admission, taught Mal the same lessons her own mother had passed down to her, she also shared a name with Mal that shares her own power (according to fairy lore). Jay taught his son all the lessons that he knew had succeeded in Aladdin becoming everything Jafar wanted for himself; Aladdin was a kind thief who could survive anything in a terrible situation for years, yet still, protect someone weaker than himself even when he is outmatched or overpowered, and Jay was raised to be the diamond in the rough. Evie was taught everything that the Queen herself knew, as well as everything that she believed made Snow White, Cinderella and Beauty become princesses and queens. Remember how proudly Evie told Charming that she could cook and clean and sew? she wasn't ashamed of it, she was gloating about her skills. Even Carlos was kept in the safest place that Cruella could devise because she kept her treasures all in only one place-her closet. He was allowed to drive a sick car that any teenager or car hobbyist would kill to be allowed to take for a spin, and so what if he was only allowed to drive this masterpiece while driving his mother? I'm sorry, but that's just being responsible. They did a lot wrong, but if you look at the kids, they did a lot right as well.
