Happy Anniversary. Maggie l am 74. I don’t go many places because I am always worried about my ostomy. I know I miss out on a lot, but the anxiety gets to be too much. Glad you enjoyed yourself. ❤
❤I’m sending you and Zach a big hug from the North West. You’ve made this channel a safe space for everyone, especially those with chronic illnesses. I’m so grateful for that! But part of that is showing the hard moments of health and life. Give yourself grace. If you need a little break once in a while, then we will be here to enjoy your video when you’re ready. If it would help you to talk with us about the township ridiculousness, then please do. You are human and we love you just as you are.
@LetsTalkIBD Maggie ... I can't believe you did the same thing as me. I have been using Hollister two piece since I got my ostomy in October 2015 and I just switched over to Convatec because Hollister seems to have gone downhill. 😢 The glue doesn't stay stuck anymore. It keeps coming up, so they definitely changed the quality of their product. I found that so disappointing because I used to love Hollister. I just recently switched on my last order so I still have some Hollister sets left but I only use them when I stay home because they leak now. For me the ring didn't leak, but all the fluid goes underneath the flange and onto my skin. Thank you so much for these videos., Jackie😀
I am looking to getting my surgery this December and your videos have been very encouraging. I certainly appreciate how you share what life is like with the bag. I'm sorry you are in a low spot right now, but I hope it helps letting you know your videos do help as you keep it real. thanks.
Maggie you’ve done so much to help everyone in the stoma world who’s found you. Never feel the need to put pressure on yourself to perform. We’re just happy to hear from you whenever. And if we can help you by listening to your troubles feel free. It’s the least we can do to say thank you.
Hi Maggie! Your experience is why I now use a 1 piece instead of 2 piece. It is cheaper, much cleaner and more low profile. I went from a 30+ year relationship with convectec to hollister. I have had my ileostomy for 36 years. 37 years on October 30th.
Sign I watch all your videos: I don't have an ostomy or any intestinal issues, and I dreamed I suddenly had an ostomy, panicking because I couldn't remember how Maggie said to do the bag. I dream like an insane person. 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for addressing the sadness in these times! I have been so low, fearful of the future, and out of it. Fighting hard with walks, self talk, reading the Bible, and stuff and trying hard no to obsess, but it's HARD. Take care, hun!
I woke up sad today. It's no fun not being able to pass faeces. It means you can't eat normally. Glad you had a nice time at the amusement park. Thank you for showing us.
I can totally understand your struggle with wanting to talk to the camera this week. The bad-to-worse news has been relentless for a long time now. Especially with the most recent world events, I can only really handle reading the headlines. I can't let myself go any further or I might not be able to function afterwards. Hugs to the two of you. 💞 I'm so glad you had a fun day at the park on Saturday - I've never been a rollercoaster person but it's a lot of fun to listen to you talk about them!
Thanks! So many of your videos have been relevant to things I am going through right when I am going through them! My Ostomy leaked while I was sleeping just before dawn on world Ostomy day and it is the first time in a while. Glad I wasn’t the only one 🤦♀️…Also, I , too ❤❤❤ roller coasters and we are about to go to Florida for vacation. I have never gotten on a ride with my Ostomy. I am terrified, but thanks to you am going to go for it!!!! You have helped me more than you know.
Hi gorgeous girl 💕💋🌹. About six weeks ago, I had to have emergency surgery and yup……………..the bag! It has not fazed me at all right from day one. Having said that, I have had a couple of days of feeling teary and overwhelmed, especially after my first major leakage……….we are talking BIBLICAL proportions!!!!!!!!!! I want to thank you with all of my heart for your honest life stories and crackpot humour 🌺 I have learned so much from you 💕 Very steep learning curve and I am very grateful to have found you 🐕. One last thing, [ hope this makes you smile], I found myself talking to my stoma and bag, saying……c’mon…..please behave…….c’mon …..please don’t leak……..c’mon……please stay on……….do you know a song by Dexies Midnight Runners, C’mon Eileen?………….yup, that’s her official name! Lots of love and hugs from Melbourne, Australia ❤️❤️❤️🌸🌼🌺🐕🐕🐕🐕
Maggie, have you ever tried Nu -Hope pouches? It's a family company out in California. I believe they have 1 and 2 piece bags. If you haven't tried them you should. They adhere really well.
I gave up on Hollister 2 yrs ago, the bags got noisy, they must have chaned the way they were made and I was lucky to get 3 days wear, lots of leaks and skin breakdown. LOVE the Convatec
Hey Maggie if it’s any consolation it’s technically Thursday where I am so you did keep to your schedule! 😊 I hope your week gets better. I also had a bad week mentally.
Have you tried the Eakin ring lately? I was having trouble with leaking and then finally the Eakin ring helped me. I'm still sampling after my second now permanent stoma, from rectal cancer. I also had the Barbie butt surgery too. So anyways yes still sampling like all three brands.....I'm sure you've probably used most products , I've only have had mine for a year but my new one for only a few months. Hope you get the right fit, it could suck finding the right stuff😢
Hey Maggie I don’t leave many messages, but I’m now needing to try Convetec, my Hollister Is doing the same thing, not every bag and flange… But with way too many of them & it’s hard to see under there & when I look & it’s leaked again it’s terrible & nothing helps if you can’t change the whole system at that point!!!! So now Convetec is the only one I haven’t tried, still pretty new to all this “stuff!!!” But I can’t handle Coloplast it’s flange destroyed my skin…. So went back to only thing I had Hollister & now remember why I want to try the last of the main 3, the leaking under the bag at the flange to bag ring🤯‼️‼️‼️So I don’t even know what to expect, but thanks to you I don’t feel alone about the other 2🙏❣️ I feel silly, but I still have to watch one of your videos and have one playing when I have to change my bag🫣 so embarrassing, but I’m just still so nervous & overwhelmed if I don’t & shake constantly😝 So thanks hun for “ Always being there, LOL” 💝 you are❤️❤️❤️❣️
This is just an idea, which may sound a little gauche, but bear with me: I haven't tried this or anything, and I don't know if this will work, but if the Hollister flange is giving you grief, have you tried applying a small amount of KY Jelly, not too much, but just enough to work as sealant? Not quite silicone sealant, but enough to stop watery output perhaps? If KY Jelly doesn't work, maybe actual Vaseline might, because it's oil-based and might therefore be better at stopping water, just so long as it's not attacking or dissolving any of the plastics? Again, that's just an idea I had listening to you, and this may not even work, but perhaps it might be worth trying - at your sole discretion ofc.
Thanks Maggie! Glad you had a great time. I went to Six Flags over Georgia when I was a teenager. I had six children (blended family) and we had season passes for years. We always brought a cooler filled with lunch items and got stamped so we could eat lunch at the picnic tables. It was so much fun seeing all the personalities of the kids there. Made some great memories. I loved the scream machine when it first came out but as time passed it became horrible! Hurt my neck so bad, wouldn’t ride it any more. Also, I was so good at that “spiral” game, where you have to slowly hold the steel ring with handles down the spiral without touching it. If you could do that and reach the bottom, you won a GIGANTIC prize stuffed animal. I won so many times! A big Bugs Bunny, a Tiger from Winnie the Pooh. Anyway, we loved Six Flags for years. I’m 58 now, had an ostomy for four years now. Now it’s the grandkids turn. Thanks for sharing the video. Means a lot to many people. ❤❤❤
I had a week of leaks breaks and explosions, I use a drainage pouch I’ve had my ostomy for a long time 99% of the time no problems A couple of weeks ago I had the flange adhesive give way causing a leak, then the clip didn’t hold another leak, thirdly I mistakenly ate grapes in the evening creating a lot of gas my pouch exploded during the night. I do carry waterproof tape and an extra clip with me in case of problems.
❤❤❤❤ Thank you Maggie for sharing your Highs & lows with us, I am nearly 3 weeks “post-op” double loop ileostomy 😅 and healing well so far. I’ve tried the 2-piece bags and wasn’t quite found of them. The click system seems too flimsy to me, like there’s silicone seal in it. Could you perhaps use a cotton but and put some paste on the inside groove to create a better seal? I’m sorry you had a day full of leaks, ironic really that it was Ostomy Awareness that day. Sending you hugs & happy thoughts 💭… Melanie 🎉🎉
I’m sorry to hear you had trouble going to great adventures. I love the roller coasters there. Someday, hopefully, you can laugh at the problems you had, and the problems in the world. I wish you all the best and I hope you get everything worked out between the different companies. Kathy. PS. I had season passes for great adventures from my teens all the way up into my 30s. You got a love roller coasters.
I’m very proud of you. You’re very strong woman. My bf have ostomy bag and he is not strong enough to have it. He always panicky and we can’t travel very far because he doesn’t s afraid if the stoma link. I love your video makes inspired ❤
@@Anon-ed1bb He had his perforated surgery last June 8, this year. His wound is not fully heal until now and he needs nurse every time his stoma bag get change. He can change it himself but he feels nervous all the time. That’s why of you. You have positive outlook. Smile all the time and beautiful 🙂
It isn't a leak like it isn't sticking - its a leak between the ring of the bag and the ring of the flange. Its like it get stretched out too quickly because the plastic is too flimsy. As for it sticking to me, I have no issues! I use the ring and rinse out as well!
"searching for bathrooms" That brings back (bad) memories. I knew where all the restrooms were. Gas stations that locked their restrooms never sold me gas. At Kmart, you had to ask for the key. Bye-bye Kmart.
Hi Maggie, thank you so much for the video, even though you are feeling sad, you created amazing content. Please allow yourself to be sad, we are here for you. You are giving us your, fans so much. Thank you for keeping it real. Thinking of you. Lots of hugs to you and Zak.
Enjoyed the video, especially the coasters. My home park is six flags Fiesta Texas, home of the first single rail coaster. I also try to go off season, because I don't like crowds. I love fright fest at SFFT. Yall will have to go to San Antonio sometime and enjoy the park (and sea world san Antonio is also really good).
Thanks for posting while you are matching the moods so many of us are feeling. It is helpful to have it reflected, but also you are supplying some needed distraction. TH-cam is so good for this when the world gets super-crazy. I can't tolerate TV when it gets like this, with a the stupid commercials breaking up horrible news reports. "Tragedy and mayhem" "Now Super-cheezy Pizza", "More outrage and tragedy" "Come shop at Target". Too much.
I'm sorry you had issues with your bag, but I am glad you had a great time despite it. I don't get news stations, so I rely on TH-cam for world happenings.
I also enjoy coasters and at the other extreme, ferris wheels. Sounds like you had a great day and I hope your bag stuff sorts itself out. I quit watching the news over 10 years ago and found I felt way better...I only picked it up again during covid and the mndless violence clips were gone. When they started bringing back all the shootings and such,I stopped watching the news again. Yeah,I know the big thing that's happening and it's a shame some humans have to be such monsters.
I was thinking how wonderful u looked & u were saying u didn’t have mascara on- maybe you don’t need it! You really did look great. It is sad, & so complicated. I kept turning on & off CNN. I think I need to know what is happening but the violence & horror is overwhelming. It would be a bigger problem if it didn’t upset us. Lots of lovexoxo
Like your videos I have ostomy bag happened about 1.5 years ago 60 tho hate to see you go through this you're to young but couldn't ask for a better guy like king's Island from indy love racing football and work landscaping 44 years chemical mowing hardscape and snow removal removal very hard now brain says go body says no definitely definitely life changing things things go good then feal like doing something wrong lost my clip twice in last 3 day's and never lost before tried to even double up just want to give up sometimes but so lucky to have a beautiful girl that really cares and just says I hope you would do same for me but she is very sick and I have to do alot but good luck to both of you i use same products as you
I seriously don’t even watch the news every day anymore! It gets so discouraging and can get depressing when it’s only shootings and murder and war constantly.
Same here. I feel so much better when I just don't watch the news. They pick the most horrific things humans can do and fling it at my screen 24/7....I really don't need that in my life..
Girl you give us the privilege to see into your life so don’t ever feel bad for being “late”. You’re not. Be kind to yourself, we will be here :)

Hello, and Happy belated Anniversary! And sounds like a very nice day at the park .hope all works out for you soon thanks for sharing and take care 😊😊
Everyone gets low, absolutely everyone, you aren’t alone we hold your hand.
Ohhh El Toro is still in operation!!!!!! I heard it was closed?
That's what I thought!! I was shocked it was open!

I get 10 to 12 days using Hollister 8805 ring. The key is use water in bag to wash it out after emptying. Never a leak or order. I am 84 years.

I used Hollister for 40 years. No more. Quality went down the toilet.
Great American Scream Machine was my first roller coaster, and it lived up to its name for me 😂
How are things going with the area where you live now? Hoping things are a bit better but not holding my breath..hugs for you both.
pretty w ur hair curly
Thank you for mentioning the world events. It is very heavy.
I wish I could put more collective thoughts to it but get a bit tearful! I wish there was something I could do to help.
looked like some fun great rides

I've not had cable in years and learned that watching news is so depressing that I just don't watch it anymore.
Beautiful couple! ❤

Glad you had fun. You'd have to give me a whole lot of money for me to ride a rollercoaster....
I can't do roller coasters they make me ill.
I like your intro. 🥰
I miss El Toro - is it gone?
I seriously don’t even watch the news every day anymore!
