    This is a perfect representation of our behavior. When things are good and everything’s in excess human beings get along great and are friendly and affectionate to people who are in their circle of life. But when things are bad and everything’s in limited supply we’d steal from our own neighbor to survive. Look at the grocery stores when the pandemic hit. People would take more than they were supposed to which left many people with no supplies. Other people hoarded things and sold them at exorbitant prices. We are truly no different lol.

      Pretty massive leap to say its 100% the emotion of a grief they are expressing. I would say curiosity but not grief , thats an intensly human emotion we feel for family or friends we lose. I highly doubt these monkeys are "grieving" for a random creature that dosent even belong to the same sub species as themselfs. But they are gentle and rather pleasant animals compared to some other primates i would say its just their inquisitive nature.

      Ignorance is bliss.

    • @bradlasalle2888
      @bradlasalle2888 5 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@nia.d33 Calling grief an "intensely human" emotion is equally a stretch; there are tons of animal species shown to greive over death or seperation, even for others not of their own species. If this group of macaques had some sort of relationship/interaction with local fruit bats(sharing food or something), they could very well feel sadness for the loss of one to the conditions they all face together.

    • @bradlasalle2888

    • @TheTaterTotP80
      @TheTaterTotP80 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It isn't hate and anger, it's survival. Chimps are not malicious or cruel, they are innocent living beings as all are. But their circumstances are very different. Sadly in their environment they have to fight over food, for survival, fight for their young to survive and prosper etc.
      The only malicious, cruel creatures are Humans.

    • @bradlasalle2888
      @bradlasalle2888 5 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @@TheTaterTotP80 How do you rationalize that opposed to other animals? Saying animals aren't cruel is conpletely wrong; you can find videos of deer having their limbs torn off and eaten by packs of wolves and still living for minutes after. Saying no animals are malicious assumes you know every behavior and thoughts of every animal on Earth, which I sincerely doubt. You can argue that they're just going by their instincts and doing what they do to survive, but humans are animals, too. You only live the way you live because of how the generation that raised you lived. If macaques did taxes and worked 9-5 jobs, you can bet their offspring would, too. A lot of people forget that we're just animals toobecause we happen to be intelligent enough to consider ourselves above animals. Humans don't owe the world anything more so than any other species, in my opinion.

      Imagine if humankind, in the future, were to venture to another planet with conditions such as these. Would we reconsider how we have treated planet Earth and resolve to live as one with nature? The 'wish' I expressed in May, was not meant to be taken seriously. It was a fantastic thought. The greed and selfishness of our species will be our doom.
