It's such a shame that it's becoming so rare to find a decent chipshop selling fresh tasty fish and chips nowadays! They tend to be overpriced and small pieces of not tasty fish..I honestly would pay a little bit more for quality
Great remark Dave. Their at it with the prices in Chippies across the board. Some places are charging £9 for white pudding supper. A friend of mine owned a chippy in Fife and said they only cost £1 to buy, so their at it big time. Also have you noticed you can buy large sized fish suppers like in this video but their hugely expensive. You are cheaper buying 2 regular sized fish suppers and get more for your money.. Says it all. Total rip off. Anstruther Fish Bar total Rip Off. Not far from me. I used to go sea fishing there every week and stopped buying their stuff. Don't buy it and watch the prices plummet. Great timing as mother Hubbards have opened a shop in hemel hempstead literally 1 mile from where I live...Great review also..a large fish and chips locally is around £10 but its about half the size of what you had plus you had the sauces, peas and drinks...can't wait to get down to my local shop then ...just a shame I'm reading this at 7 am and I'm bloody hank Marvin already 😊
In upstate New York usa we put ketchup on fish 🐠 lemon and tartar sauce . Never heard of curry sauce on fish or mushy peas 🫛 but I want to go there and try it , looks delicious 😊
I've converted a few people here in the UK with the curry sauce on fish, I heard a girl ask for it one day in a chip shop and when I returned a few weeks later I asked for it, it was an instant winner, it's really good.
The best fish and chips ever is in a place called Magheroarty North West Donegal, Ireland The pub is called Teac Dixon, it looks like nothing from the outside and even inside but I'd swear they catch the fish while you're waiting, it's so fresh! The batter is unbelievable and they speak fluent Irish there too but also English so don't panic 😉

love the videos, next time your near stoke you have to try oatcakes, there a breakfast type food around stoke and the shops are only open untill roughly 2pm, the oatbakers in longport are amazing, a must try.
Mother Hubbards is my favourite fish and chips shop. I always get the supreme too. It's huge. Never seen anything like it elsewhere. Part of eating experience is the looks, and when you see the size of it just just enhances the experience more.

Great looking batter. Fish did not look like cod though, probably a pretender. Also always salt b4 vinegar stops the salt clogging . Dessert was a highlight
That portion is the biggest ive ever seen, would need the curry sauce to come in a litre tub to match the ratio off fish and chips . Great review . Cant wait to try mother hubbards

I went to a branch of Mother Hubbard in Bradford a few years ago and was blown away by the portions. I was stunned by the size and prices of the specials as I had never seen deals like them in any fish and chip shop that I had been in. I would thoroughly recommend Mother Hubbard to anyone who loves their fish and chips
Don't know how I ended up here, I'd just eaten my pizza and salad but I ended up enjoying this, your a natural food seller mate, I could just eat fish and chips from the woman in the cupboard 😄👍

I was so ready to hate on the appearance of so much batter on that fish, but wow did it look so good when unpacked, so unlike how many plaices do what you call 'pancake batter' on the fish.

What I think would be interesting if you contacted companies that are not having great reviews, tell them you could come and see if they are up for the challenge to up their game! Perhaps visit secretly first to see why it’s bad, then offer to come back. I’m sure some would love the chance and exposure!

Try out the grey horse pub in Kingston upon Thames Surrey. They have a restaurant inside called smok'd...banging menu in particularly the jacobs ladder rib
You need to try little jack fullers in brighton they reckon they are the best in the south coast and have said they won best chippy award out of 157 chip shops in area
TBF though you've also got 4 sauces on there so 17.95 isn't bad coz in my chippy them sauces would set you back 2 quid each! And that fish looks BANGING man!!!
