Wow, I thought The Matrix was the first one to do it with bullets. Hot damn! What an insanely cool commercial.
Total recall has a red pill that would take you out of a simulation
Blade did bullet time before the matrix.
Most people thought matrix copied it off from blade
@@DigitalWraith The "bullet time" in Blade can't quite be compared to The Matrix. A scene with seeing a bullet is even in The X-files. It's the whole time freeze thing with the camera movement that is the point.
@@filmfrosk Bullet Time just means a scene that a speeding bullet can be seen moving relatively slowly. Not the whole 360 camera pan. That is just an extra feature added.
It's like saying the combat in the Arkham games was 100% original, ignoring the fact that Spider-Man 2 for PS2, Xbox, and GameCube had that combat years before it.
FYI: this was directed by Michel Gondry. Of course he did it first.
I remember this Smirnoff ad on ITV it was incredable and so ahead of its time!
This is the most 90s shit ever
It's so 90s the gun made a Goldeneye sound
It's from the 90s
But it's so damn cool. 😎
Did not know there was a version without the Dylan Rhymes soundtrack, thanks for sharing.
This commercial was filmed in June 1996 and aired in México 4 years later.
I consider that the first bullet time used in animation was the final scene of the intro of Speed Racer, Mach GoGoGo, when the perspective rotates 90° around Mach 5 and Speed Racer...
perfect transition is PEAK
My 12 year old self would have loved this in 1997 🤨
"Mom? Can we get smirnoff??"
Title is misleading. This is not the first bullet time effect in general but probably the first done in CGI... Check out the Wikipedia article about bullet time.
Wiki article is not that good. It was probably written by an American - it overplays The Matrix, and doesn't even mention Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels which made more innovative use of bullet time a year earlier and really brought it to the movie-going public.
The 2 dislikes are from the Wachowski Sisters.
Unless they were from 16 years ago
OMG
