As an Irishman I always tell anyone visiting Ireland to head to Cork. Between itself and Kerry you get a great piece of what Irelands about. Also they're sounder than Dublin people :P ....great vid lads!!
Wonderful video. Very well done. And you covered nearly all of Cork City's highlights that I also enjoyed so much last summer. I also put in a word for the Cork City Gaol, the Old Waterworks, and Fitzgerald Park with the Cork City Museum. Finally, the Cork Ghost Tour is hilarious! Highly recommended. Thank you so much for bringing back amazing memories.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! We really enjoyed Cork as well! And thank you for the recommendations on the other attractions. I am sure we will make it back to Cork again at some point, so we will have to check those out!
I was in Cork City the during first week of October and visited many of the same places. I also had dinner at Gallaghers Pub and found great bartenders and not so great food. I've watched a lot of Cork videos and enjoyed this one the most. Well Done!
Hello there! Thank you very MUCH for making such a video. I’m actually applying for the Cork University, where I hope I’ll be studying from next year, so this helped me to get a closer look on the city itself 😊🎉
Estelle Harrington Counties in ireland are usually named after a town ,mostly the largest town or city as in the case of cork.County cork is by far the largest county in ireland .Most of the people live around or in cork city, the rest is very sparsely populated.
Thank you for the kind words! And we did actually have a Beamish while we were there... but that did not make it into the video. Very good! Cork is just so charming that we think we will probably make it back there some day (and then try the Murphys! 😄
My grandfather, an O’Sullivan, left Cork in 1920 fleeing from the British over some activities. My grandmother from Donegal met him while retrieving her brother’s body, never met his family since they met in Canada. They married & had children & died shortly. My grandmother raised me & had me sent to Donegal with family for a short period, but never been to Cork. I always wondered if there was Viking because he was so tall & ruddy complected compared to my other shorter dark haired Donegal grandparents. Plus I have 2% Norwegian in my Irish bloodline. I guess there is nearly more full blooded Irish living in America now than in Cork by what the video said.
Fr Theobald Mathews grave lies alongside my mothers grave in st Joseph’s cemetery in Cork City, greetings from Cork🇮🇪☘️. I wonder do you know that the longest and shortest funeral recorded were at Curraghkippane grave yard just outside the city, the shortest was the caretaker who lived in the cottage in the graveyard, the longest was a sailor who died aboard a ship off the coast of South America and had to sail west to fulfill cargo commitments 👍
A very interesting video of Cork .the place of my birth. Im in the UK now . I found your video emotional to watch as it brought back many memories of my childhood, picturing my grandparents and my parents walking in those steps. Thank you well done .⚘️🤗⚘️
Just started watching couple min in looks good,I'm from the North side of cork city.... ye should Google (the rebel Streets of cork 1919-1923) ,Anyway God Bless
I was born here in 1971. In 2022 Cork is no longer Cork due to mass immigration. Our culture has been damaged due to open borders. Prior to 2000 it was a great place to have some craic. All changed and not for the better. Sad.
Shut up Tom ya langer. If it wasn't for the immigrants all the towns from Youghal to Castletownbere would be ghost towns. And it's not a new thing either Cork has welcomed people from all over the planet for centuries.
Ohh and for anyone planning a visit cork is the food capital of Ireland, and stay out of temple bar in Dublin 😂😂😂 its day light robbery for gullible tourists
I was probably 54 / 55 the first time I went in there (for a Christmas concert) and have been there a couple of times since. Every time I've been there I've met locals who are having their first visit there !! It's well worth a look - very interesting building. It appears much more 'barren' and not as decorative as local Catholic churches but has its' own unique charm about it.

Thank you! And Kerry is definitely on the list the next time we visit 😀
Going to Cork next week mate 🇮🇪👍
Dublin is an international corporate "anyplace" city these days, with a few remaining Irish trimmings. Cork is still only part way there.
you will always attract anti Dublin Trolls on travel sites

Hi 😊 thanks sir for this amazing video...i have a question, is it a work in Cork city without any paper in a black or cashing hand like England ?!

I grew up 50 metres from Red Abbey so when my Canadian wife freaks out about a pigeon I just don't get the issue she has :)
That is hilarious! Yes, there are so many more of them in Europe than we have in North America!

Ireland of the welcomes....Cork of the Welcomes....has a nice ring to it

There is no food capital. This is a bit of Cork delusion . Food is great everywhere in Ireland.
Lived in Cork all my life and pass through Red Abbey on the way to work and have never seen so many pigeons. Are you sure their not following you. 😁👍
They might have been! We saw them everywhere... haha
I'm 70 years of age and I've never been inside St Finbarrs Cathedral its a Catholic thing
