If the world would follow this one thing and choose not to be offended, it would be 99% better.

These words from Elder Bednar is so true. It is our choice if we get mad or offended even we choose to be happy and enjoy life. You can also choose to be happy when there's Doom and Gloom all around you. You will always have a choice every minute of the day. This is only because of the perfect Plan of Salvation and happiness!
What will your life review look like when you leave mortality? When you face the Lord and then the books will be opened all about you. Then you will see The Good the Bad the Ugly. If there is no repentance, too bad so sad. As we parachute into mortality sort of speak, we or to accomplish several things in this life. Some of them are, being helpful and kind to others and helping those in need whenever possible especially when their hands hanging down, go help lift their hands up with a smile. Living the higher commandment the Lord give us all us is to love one another as He had loved us by giving His life just to save you and I if we are willing. If you want to change the for the better, it starts with you and I one step at a time.

I’m so grateful for this truth. I’ve had many opportunities to be offended by the way people treat me, but because God has helped me to forgive, I’ve been able to learn magnificent things.

I adore this talk, as well as Alma 61.

The talk should be geared toward those who offend and treat the offense as a real problem in the church. Now, that being said, many do seem to get offended simply by hearing the truth, and that is also, now the new norm at church!

This is such an important message and so truthful.it is not wise to give or take offense and it is extra wise to be ready to forgive everyone at all times and in all places immediately and to seek the same.

I disagree that we choose to be offended. We do choose what we do if we are offended. Someone might say something offensive to me or do something that I consider to be offensive or cause me to be hurt. I have the choice to decide how I will treat that person. I also have the choice to continue to attend church or to continue not to attend church. I was bullied a lot as a child and still am as an adult. I have not reached the point where nothing will hurt me.

Mona Biehl to be offended is synonymous with action. The verb offense must be followed up by a noun in order to be interpreted properly. If we mentally, internally or physically are offended then we have chosen that. If we do nothing with the offense then it is called not offended. It’s really the same thing as you said you just went into more detail.

      Mona,
Thank you for sharing your self with us. I too have been bullied as well as the bully myself, especially to my children. I have worked hard to NOT offend others, also especially my children.
I am not perfect, nor are you and anyone else for that mater.
What I found for myself is this... when others say thing mean (weather direct or indirect) I think first this person my be going through something I don’t understand, this person has had a hard day. How can I help them without being inconsiderate?
Love is the complete opposite of offense, I think to myself what would Jesus do? And then I act, and honestly 10 times out of 10 the mood can change, the outcome will be totally different then what we think even if they are still angry I walk away feeling I did as Jesus would.
That’s how we overcome the wrong and start doing the right.
Meekness brings us closer to our Heavenly Father and his plan. It’s a new year and one of my goals is to put this natural man behind me and serve a greater example.
Know I love you, I love your ability to work hard. And be helpful.
Hope you have a great day and know we are praying for you.

I understand what you're saying Mona! It's so difficult to stay close to the church when there are individuals who choose to bring an insincere message. That is where disciples like you and I come in, as people to push past that narrative and choose love and kindness, and above all, we choose Him. Going to church every Sunday may help us fulfill covenants but there are other things we can choose outside of church that matter just as much ❤ love to you!

My salvation is through the sacrifice that my Lord Jesus made on that cruel cross, and my faith in Him. Nothing else. "Our works, are as filthy rags". No amount of good works can save us. "For by grace, are you saved, through faith, and not of works - lest any man should boast". The Mormon religion is a false religion, you would be wise to flee from it, and put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. No other testaments are needed, the bible, alone, is sufficient. You will not become gods on your on planet. Why would you want to anyway, because in heaven, all will be perfect. Religion, for religion's sake, will throw you in hell faster than anything. "There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but, the end thereof is destruction".

LDS is the church of Jesus Christ and saints. It's all about glory to Him. You should study a bit more. We are to be a light on Earth. We do not strive to be better than God. Your understanding of the church seems a bit blighted.
