    Thanks again Eddie - that has helped decide the route for my run on Sunday 👍🏼 Up Rossett Gill, then across to Bow Fell up the other side of Angle Tarn… I think I’ll give the swim a miss mind 🥶

      Hi, pleased the video has been of some help. Another really good walk with great views. Huge respect to you for running up the fells, It is hard enough walking let alone running! Sounds like a good route you have planned. Don't blame you giving the swim a miss, it will be a tad chilly! Thanks again for watching and commenting, it is always appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

      I’ve just watched another video of Rossett, Esk and Bow from an Irish chap called Ashley Arnold… a few mins in he says “oh look, there’s the pool that Eddie Caisley had a swim in”!
      Just ten mins after I had watched you swimming in it! These Lakeland videos are a small world 😀

      @@burrianaUK Ha, yes it certainly is a small world. I have met up with Ashley and done a walk with him ( Pillar from Ennerdale) We keep in touch and I was texting him only a couple of days ago. We are hoping to meet up again the next time he is over. Ashley and his wife Andrea are a really nice couple. Take care.

    Nice video. It was 52 years ago that me and my 2 buddies went swimming in the same beck at the same place, only it was January and there was snow everywhere. That’s what you do when you’re young and daft! Mind you I’ve never felt so alive as when we got out and got our gear back on. Happy days! Cheers

      Hi David, it was refreshing on a hot summers day, I could only imagine what it must have been like for you on a snowy January day! We enjoyed this walk and had a great day, but it was really hot for walking. The plan was to carry on to Esk Pike from the Tarn, but the heat got the better of us! Thanks for watching & commenting, it is appreciated. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

    Just realised watching this video Ed, I wasn’t sure I’d done Esk PIke years ago as a teenager. But I know we did Angle Tarn gully with ice axes on the way to Sca Fell Pike. The only way to get there would be over Esk Pike! Thanks for solving the mystery Eddie😃

    • @eddiecaisley5746
      @eddiecaisley5746  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Pete, pleased your mystery is solved. Our plan was to continue on to Esk Pike from Angle Tarn but it was just too hot, so we left it for another day. We did Esk Pike with Great End earlier this year. Take care. Cheers. Eddie.

    Well done to you both in that heat, another great video Eddie, good to see you both back. I bet that dip felt like sheer bliss, kept waiting to see Carol cooling off too. On the same day we just went up Grange Fell early doors and even that small fell was tiring in the heat, like you we were glad there was a breeze. We are just pleased to be able to get to the fells again. Mary.

      Thanks Mary. It was great to get back on the fells, but as you said, it was hot! It was so refreshing having a dip to cool off. Carol was sitting with her feet in. Maybe one day she will get brave and join me for a dip, ha! We were considering going on to Esk Pike after Angle Tarn, but it was just too hot ! Pleased you and Derek were out on the fells aswell. Thanks again for watching & commenting. Take care, maybe we will bump into you both again! Cheers. Eddie.

    I bet that water was so tempting, I was expecting you and Carol both in there for a swim. Sunning views on a stunning day and I bet that breeze on the tops was welcome mind and I would have put money on a swim at Angle Tarn in that heat....so is was brilliant to see you go in at the end and I bet it was so refreshing. Shame we did not see Carol go in but there is always next time, if we ever get the hot weather back again that is, it's miserable here today, cheers Alan

      Thanks Alan, it was a cracking walk and you are right about the breeze, we might have turned back, if it wasn't for the breeze as we got higher up. Angle Tarn was nice but the water felt a bit too cold, so I was pleased to get a swim in the beck on the way down, it was really refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed cooling down! Carol was sitting with her feet in, maybe one day she will get brave and join me for a swim, ha! Thanks for watching & commenting Alan, it is appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.

    Another nice video Eddie. I Just did Stake pass and Thunacar knott, High Raise. Wild camp somewhere in between. Sgt Crag, Eagle crag, Ullscarf, then on down toward Great Crag (dead hard going the last bit. No path heather,bracken and bog🙁). Then down into Rosthwaite. Too far with a 9Kg pack. But still I enjoyed it.

      😊 I planned too Eddie but was too shattered to try when I got to the base of it before the turnoff back to Birks. In fact, a couple of weeks before, when I did Birkhouse Moor, Catstyecam, and across then via Helvellyn to Dollywagon Pike, the plan then was to go up to St Sunday Crag and Birks etc then, but had to give up on it then as well due to being shattered again 😂. Fortunately I’ve done St Sunday Crag before a few years ago but I’ll get back one day hopefully on a nice cool day 😊.

    • @eddiecaisley5746
      @eddiecaisley5746  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Linda, the best place to park would be next to the Old Dungeon Ghyll Pub. ( It shortens the walk by about 1.5 miles in total ) I heard It was closed when we went due to a collapsed wall in the car park. We parked in the car park at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel ( The Car Park is on the left hand side of the main road going through Great Langdale and opposite the Hotel Entrance) We walked up the lane towards the New Dungeon Ghyll to start the walk. You could also park in Stickle Ghyll Car Park which is between the New and Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotels. This is a National Trust Car Park with Toilet facilities. The walk can also be started from the rear of this car park. Hope this helps. Thanks for the positive feedback on the videos, it is appreciated. Cheers. Eddie.
