In this episode of The Joy of Building, we build a very peaceful hot spring in the mountain and also a quaint stable for our donkey! Its important to take some breaks and have a nice spot to rest and relax. My new favorite spot to rest is the hot springs, meanwhile our donkey can rest up in the stable and get rejuvenated for our next adventure!

The hot spring and stables look amazing! But I think my favourite thing about this episode is honestly how well the path and road signs bring the entire world together. It’s the difference between random disconnected builds and a real community. Thank you for the video ❤

Yes! Just what I needed.
I just watched a video of another small Minecraft TH-camr(twizzy) and this guy made a whole perimeter to build a whole mega base that was basically build height, beat the dragon, got full netherite tools, made slime, sand, frog light, tnt dupers, iron farms, got beacons, villagers. Like dude, chill. I want to watch Minecraft how I enjoy Minecraft, been playing since 1.6 and on mobile before that since I think 2011, still never legitimately beat the ender dragon.

It does take a lot of skill and talent to build those huge mega bases and have those insane videos, so props to twizzy! I just prefer a more chill approach and like to play the game on a smaller scale lol. Thats the best part of minecraft, we can all play it however we enjoy to play 😄

Since you have a hotspring, the mountain could be a dormant volcano. Maybe you could have a small magma pool where you can put the nether portal. You could even make a cavern that goes into the mountain and put the lave pool and nether portal inside there.

love the distance btw your build, it's not cramped but not too much far away from each other either! the clip where you're walking from a build to an other are just so chill to watch.
the size of the stable is great too, i'm glad you started to add smaller build to your world.
I really like the house and the wizard tower but they're size is soooo big compared to the quarry or the field, so the little build like this connect everything more smoothly and make the world more believable!

What I really love about these videos is that you don’t have any mods installed, no shaders on, nothing like that. When I watch Minecraft, usually it has shaders and as a PS5 player it makes my game look worse in comparison but this is just great.
Thank you! Lol I used to only play with shaders for the past few years 😅. So switching back to the more vanilla style feels refreshing to me lol. But I'm glad you're liking the videos, that means a lot to me ❤

Great episode! I love the hot spring! I think when you do come across a lush cave, finding axolotls and giving them a home in the hot spring would be cool! Just make sure not to put any fish in there! Lol. Love the custom cherry trees! And the stable! You are a great builder!!

21:43 I don't know if I already commented this but, I think he's beeing haunted. I'm not saying it's a entity like herobrine or something but man, I don't know. It feels that there's something off with those clips where the camera is distant and the audio changes, like etat were in some sort of closed room or something. Btw, those times were the minecart started to go off alone and when he lost his enchanting stuff were a little bit weird.

Ahh I'm so excited for the storyline you've been setting up, ive noticed the way something would zoom in and look at you through things but I didn't know if it was an editing choice; knew something was going on when the audio was slightly distorted when it zoomed in at the stables. Love the builds as always your videos are very fun to watch ^^!!

Absolutely loved this one! Also, you could add something like a blacksmith or a stonemason somewhere in the direction of the quarry, like thats the place where resources from the mines get refined and shipped/sold.

Hello, I think replacing the spruce type blocks in the cherry trees with dark oak type blocks would make it look more like a cherry trees since cherry trees have dark coloured wood! Also it wouldn't blend with the dirt in the background as much as the spruce blocks do. Great video as usual! :D

I think you should put another lantern on a trapdoor in the lower hot spring. I think it would make them look more connected.
You're totally right! I mainly did it to stop ice from freezing but it would 100% make sense to add one to the lower pool too! Great suggestion! 😁
Candles would look pretty on a floating table too! Like tea lights!
@@KeelyHart Awww that would look so beautiful, especially if we dye the candles pink! I did do some testing in a creative world and found out that candles will not melt ice if its placed above it (which it would be above, if placed on the trapdoor). Its so strange, it only melts ice if the candles are place on the same y-level and it has to be 4 candles in a stack too. Sometimes minecraft doesn't make any sense 😂. But its still a great idea, even if it doesn't have a purpose, it will still make the area look even more pretty!
6:55 maybe you could use sea pickles to prevent the pool from freezing or you could waterlock everything with seagrass

Magma blocks to make your spring bubble and to keep ice from forming.
I love the bubbles that the magma blocks make, but I kinda hate seeing the actual block of magma 😂 I wish there was a way to hide it. This is a great suggestion though, I really do appreciate it! 😊
@@Etat I just looked it up, they do not melt ice or snow unfortunately. And I can't find anything online in regards to what blocks would still allow bubbles to pass thru while occluding it's appearance.
I'll be looking in to this next time I get on my own world, lol.

@@Etat I found out pretty much that nothing will work. I learned that if you put a magma block lower than blocks around it, it will not bubble. And no blocks allowed bubbles when covering it. I was surprised how restrictive the effect is. Magma block don't play well with other blocks it seems. :/

The forest and mountains around your house reminds me a lot of Firewatch and i think it would be really cool if you made like a firewatch tower, especially together with the enchanting spire you could have an amazing view of a cozy little hut parallelling the mighty magic tower kinda? idk! but i love the series :D

Love this creepy side story building up. Gives a nice contrast to the rest of the episode and fits so well. Just don't overdo it, but maybe you should consider planting some subtle details from this story in the background of some other shots? Like something is far in the horizon and you pretend like you didn't saw it, but a viewer could. Hope you'll keep making this series it's really enjoyable ❤❤❤

YAYAYAY!!!! i watched this while i ate breakfasta couple hours back and only got to comment now that im on my computer. awesome builds as usual!!!!!! i love the stables!!! i think someone may have suggested this, but i think adding magma blocks in your hot springs will keep it from icing over AND it might help create bubbles! or you could add campfires underwater (i think ive seen that done before ..?) to add steam coming out of the water!!!!!

If you don't want to use light to prevent the pond from freezing, there is another option: blocking the skylight. I haven't tried it, but leaves should also block the skylight and thereby prevent the water from freezing. You could try that and, if you want, maybe build another custom tree over the pond?

I have a little idea.
In my Minecraft world I keep track in little diaries of what has happened in my world.
Like finding a 5x5 badlands biome, building a house, a friend joining for a few hours or finding deepslate emerald ore.
But I not only keep track of events in the books in the game but new buildings also get signs when they where finished.
My sniffer farm for example has a japanese inspired bamboo temple gate thingy standing in the middle of the path, a few blocks before it, and it says on one side of a hanging signs that it was built on Day 4345* and on the other side that it was on September 19th 2023.
And September 19th is also talk like a pirate day, so the sign says something like "Built on ye Septembar o' 19th"
Larger builds that take a while also get a sign that says when I roughly began building, but I do it only for the real big things that I work on, on and off.
*I don't know the real ingame day by memory, it's just an example.
Oh wow thats really cool! Sounds like a really fun idea, especially on a server! I really like the idea of leaving an indication for when the building was established. Maybe we'll have to do that in our world, thanks for the suggestion 😄

I think this series inspired me to get rid of some negative aspects of my life, like a particular discord server or two and TH-cam in general, as I spend so much time there and don't really enjoy my time.
But I enjoy my time in this series and I will stay with this series :)

Maybe to add to the hot spring since u have cherry blossoms which give a kinda Asian vibe u could add some orange or yellow blocks to simulate sulfur chemicals which I think are pretty common in Asian springs idk

Light sources prevent ice from forming i think, you could try add some lanterns closer the the spring
