    Best place to get worms, at a really good price , go to a bait and tackle place ! Its a win win , you get worms and you save their life !!! 😊 Everything looks so good ! I apperciate your orderly planning and planting ...i am more of a " organized chaos" kind of person , but this is calming and inspiring .

    I have used Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm for my red wiggles. I have had a small worm farm for 10+years. I just bought a Vego bed and got a worm container from them. I have not transferred worms to the bed. Good luck with the worms. They multiply exponentially in the right conditions. Greetings from Georgia. 🌼

    Funny you were talking about the marketing hiccups; I actually did have an odd experience with Vego customer service. I had to return a bed that just didn’t work for my space… they were super quick in getting me the shipping label, and I shipped it back…and then I never heard anything and didn’t get a refund. I called after about a month and they transferred me to the supervisor of the return department, and then I got put on hold. When the person got back to me, they were like, “oh, it’s sitting here, no one told me it arrived.” After that, they processed the return no problem… just odd 🤷🏼‍♀️
    Love your space, by the way!

    Great video. I just found your channel while looking for raised bed reviews. I’ve subscribed. The coupon for Vegega still works and I just used your affiliate link.

    Hi Matthew! I like the look of your new Vegega beds. You've gotten quite a bit done in that area. I really appreciate the comparison of the two different brands of raised metal garden beds, and your experience with the Vego beds. It's really helpful. I appreciate the discount code, too, from Vegega. Your gardens are looking so good coming to life. Thank you so much for sharing!

    I've ordered 4 times from Vegega. 2 times were flash sales. They later emailed me saying the items I ordered were sold out. They upgraded my order to the next better size - both times upgrades to the 17 inch version. That alone will keep me as a customer. Thanks, Vegega!

    Thank you for your review. I have vego and am ready to expand. Hearing that your recommendation of buying the cheapest because they are all basically the same is VERY helpful.

    Glad to hear the grays are the same color! I have Vegega beds now, but Vego has a better price for the additional beds I need and was nervous to order if the color wasn’t the same. Love the idea for storing plant supports as well!

    Thanks for this video! I've been debating between the two brands for a month, leaning towards Vegega because it's usually cheaper and my friend has that brand and likes it. Glad to hear they are comparable!

    I’m in zone 5 in northern MA. I’ve been using the vego beds since the fall of 2021 and the bed quality is great. I have 12 now but as you mentioned, I’ve seen some undesirable changes in the last year. I had an order go missing and got no response for weeks, I did finally receive the order, which looked like it had been repackaged but no help from customer service. I tend to buy when on sale and then install as I go. If the colors are the same, I’ll likely try Vegega next.

    Thank you for your honest reviews of these companies and garden beds, Vego had a great sale in Nov. 2023 and I went with them. I am getting them filled to plant in spring.

    If you haven’t got worms yet, uncle Jim’s is a very common supplier. I recommend looking for a supplier that’s relatively close to you so the worms have less mail time and are more likely to survive. You also want red wigglers because they compost at the quickest rate. Thanks for the review, I was wondering if things are interchangeable between the brands.

    The Vegega website states that they manufacture the product. Looks like they originally were just a mfg but recently changed their business model to include selling retail. I'm guessing Vego buys their products directly from Vegega so probably the same.
    Great video! Love your garden ❤💚💛

    I used a Vego last year and gave it to a neighbor this year. I think metal just isn’t the look for me but more so, I missed the support and strong sides of a wood bed. Couldn’t push off the side of the bed when the back hurt - just wobbles. Hoping my younger neighbor has better luck.

    • @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden
      @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That makes sense! I’ve seen people add nice stained wood frames to the top of them to have places to sit and for the additional support you described. More work though when would may be a better fit for you initially.

    Hi Matthew. I bought 3 vegega beds last year and added 2 more this year. I am very happy with them. I did use the hugelkultur method. The soil did drop but as I was planning to amend with compost it was not a problem for me. I agree that filling them with good soil would be the way to go but I am on a budget. I did add 4 cattle panels so I could trellis butternut squash, pole beans, and cucumbers. I look forward to more videos about all gardening!

    I love your videos, I found your channel through Jess when you bought the stained glass. QUESTION; I notice you have perennials in your raised beds. My son in law just built me U shaped raised bed. I am in zone 5 about two hours north of Toronto will my flowers freeze and not come back my winters are much colder than yours but I have a lot of snow cover.

    • @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden
      @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would recommend the plants be hardy to two zones below (Zone 3) what you're rated for more guaranteed success. One zone (Zone 4) may be ok depending on the winters. Same zone plants (Zone 5) may or may not survive.

    Do u put the cattle panel inside the metal bed or on the outside ? Also do you have something to support your raspberry canes ?

    • @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden
      @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The cattle panel goes inside the bed. The raspberries are Bushel and Berry varieties. They stay really small and no staking is needed.

    If your bed is open to the soil underneath then you will attract worms!

    Are these beds open on the bottom or fully contained? I am brand new at this and plan to be purchasing one of these this season. Was not sure if I want open to the soil or fully contained.

    • @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden
      @TheSouthernersNorthernGarden  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Open, which I prefer so water can drain freely and earthworms and other good beneficials can enter the bed from the ground below.

    We weighed our options between wood price & metal beds, and at first, went with 6 metal beds. We then did more research, and found out that some beds will leech :/
    We returned all 6 beds, and decided to build our beds out of redwood.

    I ordered a Vego 17" 9-in-1 last night. i called them 10 hours later to change the color. They said I need to cancel the order and re-order in the color I now prefer. Too much of a hassle when all they had to do was make a small change on their end. I'm already unhappy and I haven't even received the bed yet! Next purchase will be from Vegega. Other than the fewer bolt holes and the cap nuts Vego uses, there doesn't seem to be any difference. THANKS for this informative video. You have a really nice garden.
