My very FIRST certified open water dive was in St. Thomas on a shark dive, it was SOOOOO awesome, but we didn't have nearly this many sharks. That swarm is so cool!!!! Great video!!!!
:) great video! The divers circle is sort-a distorted but the shark-ies don't care lol must have been in the winter months. BTW - the ocean floor on this dive is at 80'. I was taking pictures with a disposable camera and was really cautious to move xoxo. Stuarts' Cove have one of the best operations!
This is sooo cool. What kind of sharks are those because they didn't seem to even try to bite anyone. Pretty neat though. I would do this if I had a chance to. :D
They are Caribbean reef sharks. I think they can reach lengths of up to 10ft but the sharks at this feed seemed to be about 5-6ft in length. I have read that the Great White can reach lengths of 20ft. It was great fun and very safe. Highly recommended.
@machineyarod cool thanks 4 the reply, and another thing i think there making, ( my told told me at least) is a little device that sends electric impulse or something that keeps sharks away
Thank you for posting. I recently too a Discover Diving locally and will take the lessons if not certify. I could never see doing this, it's just too much risk. They are wild animals and it could get really bad. Is the guy standing around armed with a defensive device? I suspect there are divers with shock devices or something. Thanks
That looks awesome man I'm starting open water course this monday and as soon as I can I'll try to get advanced open water certification so I can dive with sharks I'm not afraid of them shark are very friendly creatures I'm actually more afraid of stingrays and stuff like that
does your camera have a waterproof case or is the camera itself waterproof? also what setting did u have it on because I know there is an underwater setting (but i don't know if thats for underwater or if its just some kind of effect) this is absolutely amazing and I wish I could do this! ! ! ! !
@RPZB96 goggles like that aren't meant to keep in blood, they're just intended to keep out most water... plus, other than the fact they could smell the blood, they could see it too...along with the fact that i meant that something along those lines could happen.
@Shenator1239 as far as i'm aware of you need only an OWD and 5 noted dives to do about anything in the bahamas. But I dunno if it works with junior license.
WOO! ive done that in the bahamas. they glide past you without a care in the world. though its best to do it when you dont have any open cuts on the body.
Hey I've gone scuba diving a couple times but I don't know the answer to this: How do the divers go back to the boat without catching the attention of sharks?? It's a very impresive video by the way.
this is cool but how are the sharks not eating them? i noticed that the scuba divers are just standing still there. what's the technique they're using?
Divers usually are invited to sit in a circle around the feeder who passes out the fish bait pc by pc on the end of a short spear. The sharks will then circle around in an orderly fashion waiting for their turn to take a bite. That species should be the Caribbean reef sharks which usually arrives in large numbers. With yummy baits around, they wouldnt bother the divers at all.Once in a lifetime experience, I MUST GO!!!
It's pretty cool. Those are pilot fish. They stay near the sharks for protection. The other things that would eat a pilot fish won't come near the sharks. And the sharks don't eat the pilot fish because they eat the parasites that live on the sharks. That's why, every once in a while, you see the fish almost "kiss" the shark.
What level are you at next week I finish my confined water dives I can't wait to go open water diving going to get the dry suit speciality first though the water in England will be freezing
So awesome I saw they were wearing chain male but then realized that a shark could probably chew through that like card board... Still breath taking though
@trashyourplace Actually what usually happens with shark dives like this one is that a barrel or container of meat will be lowered onto the ocean floor, and the group of divers will be told to kneel in a rough circle around it. When done with regularity the sharks get used to it and actually await the delivery of meat and congregate round it, and they also get used to humans. There's almost always one or two professionals with knives or sticks in case a shark gets too frisky.
@promaja2 sharks very rarely attack people, and more rarely still divers (surfers and swimmers are the most common, when they paddle out they appear similar to the prey of the sharks). And if a shark does get a little too aggressive, the punch in the nose thing actually does work. These divers were more likely to be killed driving to the dive site then by these sharks
honestly if i had the chance to do that i would, this looks awesome. these are not dangerous sharks, its not like if they were scuba diving with bullsharks or tiger sharks
@jacob28673 or if you 1) swim higher than them, therefore threatening them 2) bleed 3) seem bigger than them and 4) just look like some sort of threat in some random way.
My very FIRST certified open water dive was in St. Thomas on a shark dive, it was SOOOOO awesome, but we didn't have nearly this many sharks. That swarm is so cool!!!! Great video!!!!
Wow...that looks amazing. I am taking classes next week to get certified. I can't wait to be able to do this =) So cool.
Undoubtedly it has got to be better if one does it. However the video is outstanding. Congrats to the person who filmed it!
So amazing, It's cool to see all the tropical fish as well.
:) great video! The divers circle is sort-a distorted but the shark-ies don't care lol must have been in the winter months. BTW - the ocean floor on this dive is at 80'. I did this dive. It was one of my all time favorites. The dolphin dive in the bahamas is also awesome.
Nice video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
love it! humans and sharks just chillin' together!
This looks so amazing. Bucket list !!!
It's amazing how these large creatures can swim in tight circles and never once bump heads
Just listening to the bubbles make's me more relaxed. I would like this on a sleep assist machine to go to sleep with the noise.
I'm so jealous! i want to go to the bahamas. just got my diving license in Tahiti last summer!
This is sooo cool. What kind of sharks are those because they didn't seem to even try to bite anyone. Pretty neat though. I would do this if I had a chance to. :D
thats some awesome quality! nice vid man
This is amazing! Look at all of those sharks! I want to go diving with wild sharks!!!
That's so cool! So many sharks and divers at once, haha!
They are Caribbean reef sharks. I think they can reach lengths of up to 10ft but the sharks at this feed seemed to be about 5-6ft in length. I have read that the Great White can reach lengths of 20ft. It was great fun and very safe. Highly recommended.

Great exciting scuba divers taking photos l0vely sharks s0very interesting.
WOW - this is so totally awesome! I would love to do this!
Awesome video thanks for sharing it.I will never go to see it myself
Thank you for posting. I recently too a Discover Diving locally and will take the lessons if not certify. I could never see doing this, it's just too much risk. They are wild animals and it could get really bad.
Is the guy standing around armed with a defensive device? I suspect there are divers with shock devices or something. Thanks
The ones in the chain mail are the guides? The ones in a line on the bottom are the paying guests?
how do you swim above to the surface without bumping into one and pissing them off? lol
im just starting scuba diving and im wondering how common something like this is because this looks truly amazing
I'd love to do this! I recently went scuba diving for the first time in Corfu, Greece, Biggest fish I saw was a shoal of small barracuda lol
Way cool, I'll be in Egypt diving in 12 days hope this happen when I'm there!!!
That looks awesome man I'm starting open water course this monday and as soon as I can I'll try to get advanced open water certification so I can dive with sharks I'm not afraid of them shark are very friendly creatures I'm actually more afraid of stingrays and stuff like that
@hammerman2006 but wouldnt touching them aggravate them? or do they not mind at all?
yes, you're right.
i'm envious of these guys.
just signed up today to get my open water cert. maybe one day that'll be me. :P
does your camera have a waterproof case or is the camera itself waterproof? also what setting did u have it on because I know there is an underwater setting (but i don't know if thats for underwater or if its just some kind of effect)
this is absolutely amazing and I wish I could do this! ! ! ! !
This is Awesome!! :O
I had a similar scuba diving experience with Exploita.. and it was totally worth it..
Great vid, love to experience that sometime
Its great......Once i thought i am watching a movie clip or animation video ..
@RPZB96 goggles like that aren't meant to keep in blood, they're just intended to keep out most water... plus, other than the fact they could smell the blood, they could see it too...along with the fact that i meant that something along those lines could happen.
which lisence level should i get to dive with the shark like this?
What's the accent like? Wouldn't there be some curriosity when one or two divers go to the surface? How is that coordinated?
Allthough your not a professional cameraman as you said. This footage looks amazing.
What did they/you do to lure the sharks?
@Shenator1239
as far as i'm aware of you need only an OWD and 5 noted dives to do about anything in the bahamas.
But I dunno if it works with junior license.
@WineK0ne Yeah but sometimes they bite your leg off.
Amazing!!! Cant wait to go!
did everyone have to wear the mesh protection?
How did you go back up?
So many sharks. Nice Video. :)
I hope this will 2012 stay so and not die out.
I have my open water certification dives this weekend. I can't wait to be at this level.
WOO! ive done that in the bahamas. they glide past you without a care in the world. though its best to do it when you dont have any open cuts on the body.
how exatly did you get outta there without getting bitten?
Hey I've gone scuba diving a couple times but I don't know the answer to this: How do the divers go back to the boat without catching the attention of sharks?? It's a very impresive video by the way.
Why there are so many sharks only around the divers ? are they attracted coz of curiosity or are the divers feeding them from time to time?
@Aredmoonstudio, they are not black tips since they don't have "black tips". It's their bigger cousin the grey reefshark.
Diver #1: I thought this was a dolphin tank?
Diver #2: Oh well!
this is cool but how are the sharks not eating them? i noticed that the scuba divers are just standing still there. what's the technique they're using?
Is this place better than Pacific harbour I made a video from there
that would be so cool ! :) , how much was it to do this!?
two questions one what camera did you use and two what types of sharks are they?
i really respect you guys for going down there and doing that, if i did it, i would spaz out and roll in a ball with THAT MANY sharks
Beautiful sharks !
remind me to go to the bahamas one day... i would LOVE to swim with sharks!!!!!!
Where did you do this dive?
i would be so scared, but at the same time excited, and lots of other emotions
Awesome stuff! I am sure you have more balls then normal :)
Those look like bulls mostly, were there any other type of shark?
what camera did you use??
@MsLovetiger because not all sharks eat humans?
You diving in shark territory with your class?
wonderful..^--^ beautiful sharks
OMG i wanna do this!!!:O and the flash might startle the shark but it would probably swim away :)
what kind of sharks are these?
what kind of sharks are those?
Where is this at? This looks crazy...but I want to do it.

At 1:10 is he wearing a shark chain net thingy or i that just a random shirt thingy?
That'd be cool yet scary at the same time.
just tell me how dont they attack the divers??
What level are you at next week I finish my confined water dives I can't wait to go open water diving going to get the dry suit speciality first though the water in England will be freezing
Where is this?
So awesome I saw they were wearing chain male but then realized that a shark could probably chew through that like card board... Still breath taking though
wer is this place? how much to go scuba with sharks?
@fmcbule would they bite if you touched them?
Nice photography
why too many shark in one place? they attract by light?
Are those bull sharks?
I think I'd be a little worried.
what kinda sharks are those
Wow... That many sharks, very little space to move. I'm not that comfortable yet... Maybe after my 500 dive...
So many divers there! I'll try that for sure!! :D need some more freakin practice though...
I'd like to see you do that with a school of Great White's!!
This is going on my bucket list
is it possible to anger the sharks to a point of aggression if you bump into them?
Very cool :D
@trashyourplace Actually what usually happens with shark dives like this one is that a barrel or container of meat will be lowered onto the ocean floor, and the group of divers will be told to kneel in a rough circle around it. those are black tipped sharks. i think they're kool :)

Love it One of my dreams!
sharks generally dont consider human as food, they usually just mistake them for seals or are just curious and take a bite, which is more unusual.
honestly if i had the chance to do that i would, this looks awesome. these are not dangerous sharks, its not like if they were scuba diving with bullsharks or tiger sharks
woah ! awesomeee !
@jacob28673 or if you 1) swim higher than them, therefore threatening them 2) bleed 3) seem bigger than them and 4) just look like some sort of threat in some random way.
Congratulations, breathe is calm all the time!
