    If Tucker gets traded to us, I’d love to see:
    Lyle in a fresh Tucker M’s jersey, walking around the Astros ball park, with the mariners visiting.
    Banging a trash can, yelling “thank you Houston”. Shaking hands with Astros fans, thanking them for Tucker.

    If you climb Mount Rainier, you must wear a Tucker Jersey without changing the jersey. Then place it in a hall of fame place... lol

    Something to think about with summiting Tahoma. Yes it is 14000~ feet and not the 29000~ of Everest, but the mountains makeup makes it one that attracts mountaineers' to practice summiting on it before attempting summits of Everest.
    Great show as always.

    I would rather have Hancock than Brian Woo at this point. I'm tired of worrying about him and at least Hancock gives you 6 innings consistently

    If Tucker gets traded to Seattle Lyle should have to ride his bike from Pogachas Pub 85 in Kirkland to T Mobile Park with a Mariners cape

    Go after Rengifo. I know he is in our conference but Angels need pieces. He has a 1 year contract. Fits in the lineup. Good guy who fits with our players. A 2B with a bat. Drastic upgrade at 2 or 3 in the order. Protects Julio. Perfect.

    I'm sorry, but I HIGHLY doubt Lyle would be able to climb Mt. Rainer. I'm sure he's in great shape and has great athletic skills, but scaling a mountain of that size is REALLY hard if you haven't trained for it. Typically it's about 4-6 months of training and when I looked it up on Google, it says that about half of all summit attempts fail. Glacier Peak might be a more attainable climb, but even that one would be difficult.

    I think for me I am worried that if they lose the division lead prior to the trade deadline they will soft sell. Or similar to what they did last year.
    That seems like a real possibility given the current state of the team.

    The line-up is frankly scary looking at stat line positions. The old school grades follow:
    Catcher - (B)
    1B - (D) need more production from this position.
    2B - (C-) Bliss, Moore, and Polanco
    3B - (B) defensive hiccups and more production needed. 15 RBI’s isn’t acceptable
    SS - (D) Same results as 3B
    OF - Julio (D) Raley (B) the rest (D)
    New additions - (D) Polanco, Garver, Haniger, and Raley…Raley has been the best thus far.
    Pitching staff - (B+) what keeps it from an A? Inconsistent relievers.
    I’m sitting here looking at the numbers and well buckle up.
    Jerry & Justin (B) They tried, yet the players do not match the back of their baseball cards. I’m sure isn’t what they envisioned.
    We are in first place and that is awesome, but the bats need to hit the ball.

    Hopefully Kyle Tucker. Lyle I don’t know you that well but if you’re not a hiker I don’t see you making it. Yes let’s get back to baseball. Prediction… if Julio doesn’t get his game on I’m not banking on the playoffs. It was nice to be up 10 54:11 games but as we just witnessed, a quick back slide is not out of the question. Remember last year and Teoscar, oh painfull to watch, especially when he goes to the Dodgers and turns into the hitter he was supposed to be. There’s something going on here that beyond me. Shopping for a big bat, in my opinion, isn’t necessarily a good idea. Hire some phenom batting guru who could fix what we already have.

    Send Lyle up the southern route of Mt. Adams (over 12000 ft). Much less technical but physically hard. Especially on his hands and knees (you’ll be on a snowfield much of the way).
    Unfortunately, Houston will be the team benefiting from the Mariners collapse. They are not trading us Kyle Tucker.

    Polanco isn’t a better bat than Bliss right now I’m sorry no. Bliss has hit the ball well and he should gets a few starts he was the only one hitting in Miami and had a decent game in Cleveland. Polanco looks washed honestly he’s on the wrong side of 30

    • @MarineLayerPod
      @MarineLayerPod  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We absolutely love Ryan Bliss, but this feels like a knee-jerk reaction off of less than 200 at bats that Polanco’s had this year

      @@MarineLayerPod he looks washed, why continue to give him another 200-300 PA if he is going to K at a 30% cliff. He is not good anymore period. This offense needs a spark of youth and Bliss gives them that.
      There is absolutely 0 indication that Polanco will be the player he was in 2019 and 2021 lol that’s foolish mentality

      You’re being emotional I think man. It’s not that often that you see talent fall of a cliff that drastically outta no where with no real warning. The wrong side of thirty.. okay yeah he’s into his 30’s but I wouldn’t say he’s at his age cliff… I get it if you’re frustrated that we went out and signed him and he isn’t playing at an all star caliber level right now. Because he was supposed to be one of our big splashes this offseason and everyone wanted him to be that stud he’s been before. But let the man cook. I think he’ll surprise you. He mashed preseason and hit some piss missiles very early in the year. I think he’ll pick the average up and get back to the 28:48 playing level we’ve seen in the past.

    The fact that Garver hitting .200 with 5 HR in June classifies as a “Phenomenal month” is beyond me. Those are very low expectations.

    • @MarineLayerPod
      @MarineLayerPod  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And that’s exactly why batting average is a bad stat. It’s 130 years old and way outdated. Go look at Garver’s WRC+ for the month (or even his OPS)

    • @MOAR_drift
      @MOAR_drift 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@MarineLayerPod Even without BA, 5 Hr in a month from a bat that is supposed to produce and do damage isn’t good enough. It’s better than what he was the first two months. And if BA is such a bad stat (which is subjective) why is it that all the all star players from both leagues have decent BA? I do like some of the newer metrics, and how they quantify a lot of the things that happen in baseball, but (subjectively) I feel like we might be outsmarting ourselves by relying too heavily on them.

    Kyle Tucker isn’t going anywhere. His team has literally made up 6 games in a little over a week. They have World Series aspirations again. A lot of the blame can be put on Jerry. He’s built this team that is destined for mediocrity. The way Ms are swinging the sticks or lack there of 54% winning pct is a pipe dream at this point. Jerry and Scott won’t be with the franchise in 2 years.
