The first one with the elastic clear string does work if you was using a thicker clear elastic strand or else you should of double the elastic by overlapping them then thread the beads on to the clear string and then you would have to tie it in a knot more than one time...I tie mines in a knot at least 3 times and it works and my handmade jewelry still looks Brand New from when I first made them...all my bracelets last (because I take really good care of them)...😊
For clear elastic most important part "Stretch" your elastic then do a double surgeons knot, works every-time but you need to "stretch" the elastic first.
