NEWBIE to Studio Ghibili, Spirited Away and Howells Moving Castle. My Journey Begins

“In this video, I’m diving headfirst into the magical world of Studio Ghibli, starting with Spirited Away-my very first Ghibli experience! I know almost nothing about this legendary Japanese animation studio, other than the fact that it’s renowned for its breathtaking storytelling and incredible artistry. I’m excited to finally watch Spirited Away and follow it up with Howl’s Moving Castle, as I begin to educate myself on the art of animation and the genius behind these films (whose name I’ve yet to learn!).
But I’m not stopping there! I’ll also be breaking out my gouache paints for the very first time to do some scene studies inspired by these movies. I’ve heard that gouache is a fantastic medium for capturing the lush, painterly style that Ghibli is famous for, and I’m ready to expand my artistic skills as I learn more about this beautiful art form. So, grab your favorite drink, sit back, and join me on this journey as I immerse myself in the world of Studio Ghibli and take on the challenge of translating its stunning scenes into my own artwork.
