Can you use forced voltage commutation by forcing the voltage across the SCR to ZERO instead of REVERSE?

Mam in natural commutation you have considered gate terminal is open and you have applied ac signal then it will not conduct if the applied signal value is less than forward breakover voltage.
How can it conduct with gate being open please clarify?
