I hear what you are saying. I am personally on my 5th or 6th year back at racing model cars. I have found that it has got more and more complicated as the years have gone on. I don’t know why we all don’t run a control tire from time to time. Control motor is a good idea. As you wouldn’t need to adjust timing and therefore a motor analyser is not required. Tires would be simpler if we all ran the same. I agree with a diff being easier to drive, as when I have tried a spool in the Atom 2 it was a handful to drive. I like the concept of what you are trying to do. I think the cheaper version Atom 2 would be a great club car. £150.
11/19/1921 here in Murfreesboro TN USA we started a GT12 rubber tire 21.5 class running on crc black carpet that is catching on well for beginners and us old farts, hope it continues to grow!
Sounds like a great low cost but fun option. Hope it keeps growing for you. I keep hearing the costs of tyres being a big issue across all class. Really needs to be addressed to grow the hobby/sport. Take care Steve
The gt12 rubber tires class has continued to grow at apex Raceway in Murfreesboro tn. Anyone looking for a great group of people who will bend over backwards to help make everyone faster come out and race with us
Yes, that's correct, i/12 was always the cheapest option. Even better would be using the rubber pre made tyres on foam rims. Those tyres never change diameter and last a long time and with traction compound applied work fine. Not as fast as foam of course but if everyone uses the same tyre then it doesn't matter.
Historically Lmps were a chassis and pod(2 piece) chassis and GT12 one long chassis with a pod above the rear. Now there's lots of LMPs using GT12 type chassis.Lots of rule differences on weight and shells etc. Check with the club your running at. Probably not the most technical answer. Look at the differences between an Xray X12 and a Schumacher Eclipse 4.
@@stevedonald4538 thank you. Can youlet me know which specific foam wheels fit this kit. Im looking at the Contact brand but nit sure which will fit the eclipse4.
