after the HUGE success of far beyond driven, Pantera were pressured by their record company to make an album with some songs that were more radio-friendly. Much like Metallica, Megadeth and a handful of other "heavy" bands did. Anyways, Pantera responded by making without question the heaviest album of that era. They stopped the trend of heavy bands succumbing to the mainstream bullshit, because there were plenty of bands that fell right in line. After the Trendkill album got released... that trend was dead... that trend was over :) End of fucking story

My thoughts exactly, brother!!!! Fuck yeah! I live in Detroit and they were awesome every time man. I'll never forget the show at The Palace of Auburn Hills when they opened with the audio to Suicide Note Pt. 1.....people were rushing the main floor. I fell on the steps and had to hang onto the hand rail to avoid getting trampled! A girl was doing the same thing just above me, we exchanged glances and kinda knew we would be okay. I lost my fucking shoe and moshed the whole set and then when the floor cleared I found my red and black Nike shoe!!

This song and Suicide Notes pt 2 were the first songs I ever heard by Pantera (randomly on a radio app) that made me OBSESSED with Pantera...I was at work doing construction and I had to stop what I was doing and find out what this song was and NEEDED MORE. I know ever Pantera song now, know most of the stories, have listened to countless bootleg shows filmed or professional (The few), watched the backstage shows...This band is TIMELESS. I was born in the wrong era...HOWEVER, I get to watch ALL of the bootleg shows, interviews, backstage shit, etc for free on TH-cam and fans during their time didn't, none is compared to seeing them live however I'm told and I firmly believe. I knew the bass followed the guitar completely, even as far as playing the exact same notes and octaves in this song but I didn't expect them to play the song without the damn bass. Suppose it makes sense since the whammy drops the guitar all the way down to F#

Never mind, watched this seven months later and just noticed Rex in the corner in a shot near the beginning and just before the breakdown. Wouldn't have known he was there otherwise

Drop G but with D standard variation. G, G, C, F, A, D. They always tuned slightly flat. But still fucking heavy for it's time.
