Of course they change the stamina, Hoyo is not the only company in gacha space anymore. With Kuro making its debut next month and Manjuu with Azur Promilia, it will be a tough competition. If any game tries to limit players having fun it doesn't matter how good it is, it will definitely flop. Therefore, stamina requirement for the story quests is the worst choice ever.
I believe they implemented this stamina and TV system because they don't wanna lose the player base for their other games. Because its obvious that the Gacha player base is reaching its limit and its difficult to get new players. Their only option is to make existing players play ALL their games, but we only have 24hr a day so we can't play multiple games for longer. So if you can't play a new game for more than an hour or two, then you have no choice but to play gi or hsr. This is the reason hsr is a turn-based auto play unlike gi. Its dumb how they thought people play genshin & hsr after using stamina in zzz. Fck that, If I can't enjoy a game to the fullest, I don't even bother to touch it. With WuWa & other games coming soon they realized this plan is not gonna work, so they are trying to satisfy players. At this point instead of being too greedy & stubborn, holding their fan base is crucial. Typical corporate tactics😏
Agreed! They're kinda outdated with their tactics. Even if WuWa does well, I don't think G.I. is gonna make changes at all since Cai haoyu is a stubborn guy.
It's true that players have now been overly tired of GI and are expecting more and more. Seeing how stagnant GI has been for the last 3 years is quite frustrating. Instead of going all out with what they have, they opt to limit players' experiences of the vast world and dumb down their game to a mini-game collection. I'm kinda glad that other games are making appearances, especially Azur Promilia with its extremely fun and casual gameplay. Now it looks like GI doesn't even have the best casual experience like so many people try to argue anymore.

Thankfully those tactics usually fail in the long run. Blizzard did that for a long time and they burned their player base to the ground (they still have a lot but not as big as their prime). The moment you’re designing to waste your players’ time as much as possible, many would soon be burnout or couldn’t catch up and have to quit. No game should be a second job, especially nowadays when players have so many choices to pick.
To answer why they tried to make people use stamina to do story: There are other mobile games that do that. This doesn't make it right to do so, but they probably thought they could try doing it as well. That system sucks. I've been through it before, especially since both games I played that charged stamina to do story had me doing 50 million grind stages, one or two actual story stages, and then 50 million more grind stages. It's ass. One of them, I stopped caring about the story and just focused on gameplay, and the other, I didn't do much with until they stopped charging stamina and mainly just watched the story cutscenes on TH-cam.
Even simpler answer to why they used stamina for story. They did it long ago in both Honkai Impacts.
It's just a mechanic that's really a relic from the past of all gacha games that have instanced stages ever.
Well, the combat looks actually good, for like 20 minutes then I realized you can just spam everything and it's still look good. Basically all style, no subtances.

@@Hey_i_am_A-D there's a few but not that significant. Most obvious would be the switch parry and dodge system but then the timing window is big. Well, at least for me, the combat is still better than GI and HI3 but not by much.

What i want is for the bosses to just have more varied attacks and more aggresion.
The player can move so fkin much, it would be insane if the enemies did too so it doesn't become a button mashing snoozefest
But what i see in the new gameplay, its still the same even for the boss, repetitive simple moves that the enemies do once in a blue moon technically damage sponges 😭

More than feeling like the switching deal huge damage, is more like the mobs are extremely weak to it, not a bad thing really, since it's one of the main features of the game IMO, just wondering.

Is this a new team at hoyo? Certainly feels like it. Their first rated T game and the story from what i have seen is a huge step backwards.
I do hope that games makes co-op boss rush more like monster hunter where the boss isn't obliterated in 30sec-2mins. At least make it feel like you need other players to beat the boss.

off-topic but I finally get a reason to say this. Nekomata has been promoted a lot by ZZZ recently ever since the Nicole nerfs. Nicole used to be in all the promotionals, but after she got nerfed and they gave Nekomata her own teaser ZZZ started to replace Nicole with more and more Nekomata's. I feel like they got the wrong message with what people were complaining about. Even after Koleda's teaser, I still see more Nekomata.
No stamina for this game? So they're going for the Another Eden approach as it's a story heavy game that you can travel around different time eras. The only thing that is stamina related is Another Dungeon, where you go through the dungeons from previous levels you have already beaten to get materials and rewards.

I like the overall character design, but I'm really not into instanced based games. If it had a massive explorable city, instead of the TV's, I'd probably give it a shot.

When I started out playing ZZZ I was frustrated at the exploration and repetition of battle areas. I kept playing bc I was really hyped for it and didn’t wanna give up on it. After I did the combat tutorial and understanding the depth of combat I started enjoying it the more I played. Give the game at least 20 hours before you quit playing is my recommendation. Now I can’t stop playing 😊

That consumes his stacks of "Cruelty" and deals massive damage. The new animation is for his intro skill "Necessary Means" which looks fire af.

The reason the energy system exists in gacha games is to ensure the playerbases in China and Japan (both very strict in their work-life culture) don't spend any extended period of time playing the games.
I'm not a fan of it either, but I can still understand why they do it
it's not the reason why stamina exists in gacha games cuz there are tons of other gacha games that give you a lot of stamina.
The main reason why stamina exist in gacha games is to limit the player progression and make them spend money.

if they make servers like they are doing for honkai star rail, im fucked, 200 ping everyday or more, when region wise it should be at MAX 150 acceptable, more than 10y ago there were better servers than the ones they make these days
I play on 600-700 ping and it still works fine for me. What's there to worry in a turn based game? Also after acheron, i don't even need to do any useless fighting much.

and in either way, i just used HSR as an example, if even a tame "online" game like that can't sustain decent enough servers for people to have NORMAL ping, then its clear they intentionally dont spend the billions of bucks they've made so far with their games back to their servers

Well Hi3rd is still alive, and well... People do have preferences, I do play all the three Hoyo games, along side other games. I'm excited for WuWa especially for the combat, but still. Saying that a game will die soon after its release, well it reminds me of what people used to say about HSR.
Yes ZZZ seems to have a cheap looking UI, the combat seems like Hi3rd's but with some "new mechanics", but still, the game will exist, it will have it's community.
Every person is free to chose whatever they want to play, not everyone will like WuWa, the same way some doesn't like some games. It is totally normal, so yeah
Just let each game grow its own community
