I find the hot air intake to be wonderful on the P1 cars because of how horrible the factory air box is for working in the engine bay. As you point out... a car like this it's not about peak numbers... but they are a joy to drive, and if you can make them more of a joy to wrench on with some woosh noises then that's a win win.
there are a LOT of options for way colder air intake, take at least DO88 one. Most of the issues you have with a car is: "i want performance car and i bought volvo". Going with mazdaspeed3 or focus rs would give you more what you looking for.
Snabb short shift kit will crisp up that shifting. It’s a quick and easy install and is holding up great. (The stock air-box with a high flow IPD filter is great.)
Totally agree with the LSD. Once you add power that becomes a glaring issue. I'm definitely going to do mine this year. Also completely agree with the exhaust also having a camaro with vacuum dumps.
I have Focus ST mk2 (C30 twin :) ). LSD was the best modification. I was afraid that I wouldn't notice the difference and I was wrong. I turned off the ESP permanently, in summer and winter it gives a lot more fun to drive. In the wet, it's easy to lose and regain grip in corners, it can be fun (or scary). Second coolest change - front brakes from Focus RS mk3 (4 piston Brembo + 350mm disk). They do not require major modifications, are cheap and can take much more than the stock set. It is also very easy to change the rear discs to those from RS mk3 (302mm) using Mazda parts :) I have changed the clutch to the RS / Volvo diesel version (P&P) - it is harder and transfers more torque. And still waiting for remap ;)
So far for my Volvo c30, my biggest regret is the short distance between the key and the radio trim; that makes the situation "impossible" to install a nice 10-inch-screen carplay or even 9 inch and even to adapt any other carplay also because of the distance of the two bolts that hold the 1din radio under the waterfall trim.
do88 makes a great air box, dude, i run one on my c30. Especially when you get a Tomtek air shark snorkel kit for it. I got a new spare do88 air box I’ll sell to ya for next to nothing if you want to review it. It won’t fit with my v50 awd t5 Rd breather plate/catch can set up, so I’m doing elevate cone with a proper vented hood and dual behind grille mounted air snorkels feeding the engine bay and filter, too.
I have a Ford Kuga Mk1 (same engine) a couldn't agree more regarding sound. My solution: a Cut Out. The best of both worlds. For the swithches of the Cut Out, I used original of the car, that weren't being used (sutil-sleeper). The got cold air intake. I left it there so far, because now I can hear (and enjoy) the turbo and blow off valve noise(music). That said, I read that removing the silencer inside the hose, just before the turbo will do the job. And Finally... the best of the Kuga... its All wheel drive... A Subaru STI killer.
Agree on Limited Slip. My 08 S60 2.5T performs so much better than my 08 C70 T5 simply due to lack of grip. Even stock would be my first mod…but a big ($) one.
When are you guys going to get a Volvo 850 Turbo? 🤔I joke with Gregson a lot about it, and if I was looking to sell mine I would let it go to you guys, but I'm not tired of it yet 😂
No, at least not without a bunch of tweaking (at least at the back of the car. I suppose you could squeeze one into the middle). The muffler design in these cars is very odd

You probably have a point (hence why I have the mustang).

Thanks for the info!
I can especially recommend the Wavetrac LSD for the Volvo C30. This modification made the biggest difference out of all the modifications.

Dude I love these. The fastest I've ever been was in a P1 T5 Volvo.

I'll take the do88 air box if he doesn't want it!
I like my c30 but they never did a styling kit for it that worked with its lines . Maybe a mk2 lower grill would give it a more agressive look.

Hopefully in the next year or two!
Can you put a glass pack bullet muffler on it?

a muffler delete would also do the trick
Thanks
Even the Nissan Sentra Spec-v came with LSD.
Volvo c30 is not a track car.Its an everyday car
