- SK Gaming's Shane "rapha" Hendrixson speaks to Thorin after losing the final of Dreamhack Winter 2012 to evil. The American, who was the defending champion, spoke about his match-ups against k1llsen and av3k, how tourney7 fits his approach to Quake and his future in both Quake and Shootmania.

hope the comunity wil grow up again !
man, I never really thought of Evil as being at the top, top level (able to take a tourney from rapha) until at least 2013 or 2014. guess my history was a bit off because I totally forgot that Evil won this tourney
A reflection episode with Rapha would be delightful Thoorin! U and him would provide a lot of insightful content.
Keosegner Im not sure if youve heard, but Thorin did a reflections episode with Rapha a few days ago! It was interesting to say the least! :)
you can say what you want against rapha ... hes a brilliant kid and very grounded for his success...
cheers
Rapha is so good at describing the whole mental aspect behind Quake ! Makes it sound as strategic as high level RTS or even higher.
such a great gamer!
Thorin should've set the white balance manually, it keeps changing all the time adding too much red.
Rapha the legend
Rapha is one of the very few "super high level players", who can actualy talk and explain!
how does he remember all of this damn son!
deep interview
Rapha take Quake to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL
This video isn't showing ;(((
I wish rapha would do a live stream like strenx does sometimes.
+TheKSProduction I know this comment is year old, but for anyone interested reading this: These days rapha is sometimes on fazz's twitch channel. Look at past broadcasts CTRL F rapha.
EDIT: Even better, rapha has started streaming. www.twitch.tv/shane_rapha/profile/
av3k interview?
"Makes it sound as strategic as high level RTS or even higher."
That's because it is :)
Rapha vs evil on hektik doesnt explain how rapha lost this tourney.
... because it is.
Same here.
It's subjective yes. I would argue my opinion that it is more strategic, as strategy thrives in situations where simplicity is present. Playing starcraft I'll have a strategy, but it's more or less something I've decided and thought through ahead of time, as I know I'll need my brainpower for micro/maco. There's some reactive stuff happening, sure, but in a 1v1 fps matchup like these, they're more free to focus on out-thinking the other player.
If you think this is good, you should see a CZM interview. He remembers stuff like exact scores in a game 7 years ago and how much health they both had.
I think it is, but it's subjective obviously
rapha looks so tired
it's dignitas koWa not kova, i spent years playing ut with him so i should know lol
yes he is stoned
weird that he's so strong if he rockets so much....
he probably plays very very fast .....

I would understand why unreal tournament players will give a run for the money in shootmania.
oh come one. An old 5 year pc can run QL on medium/low graphic settings.
30:21 you know you are a quake pro when you use your ingame-bind even in real life
WoW I love Rapha, He is not only extremely good at game but also extremely good at interview. Usually, Gamers especially good ones don't too much and look down on importance of interviewing....what amazing abillities!
He talks about evil. He says evil is extremely aggressive, but not like av3k. Evil rocket jumps a lot.
Is he stoned?
Graphic don't really matter here low all day boi
he doesnt' talk about evil
Besides, who plays QL at "max" graphics? hehe. And yes, all you need is a 9800 gt and a semidecent cpu..
moar quake!
FUCK, i wanna see this video....
Implying it isn't lol
looks kina like genja from m5 lol
hahahaha everybody say that
