I’m also fond of the Irish goodbye. I come from a huge family (largely Irish background), so when we get together, it can be hard to actually leave. In my family, this is mostly because when someone decides to leave, they have to go the rounds and make sure they say goodbye to everyone, and give everyone a hug and kiss, and chat with each person for just a minute-say a proper goodbye. But in my family, after you get done saying personal goodbyes, you find yourself back at the beginning, and by then new people have probably come in, or someone you missed on the first round is back from whatever they were doing, and you eventually find that you’ve ALMOST said goodbye to everyone there and it’s been 6 hours since you first decided you were leaving.

@@audratompkins5428 😂I feel you; you just described Thanksgiving at my son's godmother's, where my family joins about 20-30 Irish Long Islanders. If you don't Irish Goodbye in that house, everyone is so drunk at the end of the night that they may not remember you already said goodbye twice. You'll never get out!
