In days of Gov't overreach w/ the pandemic, high drug use in area schools, soaring crime, it is probably not the time for LCPD to launch a video pulling over some old guy in a golf cart.

All they need is a smv sign if they have one they are a smv because the law states that a SMV sign makes it exemt just like a tractor or lawn tractor because tractor is a tractor but a smv is a smv
It blatantly states that they are not conducting golf cart inspections and lists out all of the requirements. I'd suggest you watch the video and read over the info under the video again.
The officer himself stated he is checking golf carts to make sure insurance is valid. Making sure driver has license. Now with that said, if he does that during a legal traffic stop, ie, ran a stop sign, speeding, etc…. He is fine. However, if the office pulls someone over who has not committed a traffic violation, he is unlawfully stopping that vehicle. You must have an infraction to facilitate a traffic stop. Can’t just stop someone to check for an infraction. Any and all citations would be dismissed in court due to no probable cause for the stop

Are you stopping golf carts on sight to check for adherence? Don't you need probable cause or a reasonable suspicion to initiate a stop?
