Hi, the appointment date to collect the passport can be as early as the next day or later, according to the available dates from the system
Thanks for the reply. One more quick question. Is it ok to start the application online while I am still outside the country? I’ll be traveling back to Malaysia in the next few days but need the passport to be ready immediately for visa application of another country.

Thanks for your help. I submitted my application online on a Sunday afternoon. I received the email asking me to collect my passport the next morning. It was a breeze. I got to the UTC in the afternoon and there were only a few people waiting. I collected my passport in less than 10 minutes.

For those collecting their passports overseas, the supporting document needed (The "DOKUMEN SOKONGAN" section right before payment) will vary for different collection branches.
If you specify a local branch (any UTC) as your collection point, no additional document need to be uploaded (at least as of time of writing).
But for example, if you choose 'SINGAPURA' as your collection point, you will be prompted to upload your SINGAPORE pass/visa (e.g. student pass, employment pass etc.) or residency card (KAD PERMASTAUTIN, e.g. SPR IC) in addition to the first page of your passport.
Confused the hell out of me initially as I thought they were asking for MALAYSIA Visa / Residency card. But no, it's likely that of your collection country.

I paid by FPX but the system crashed instead of providing me with a receipt, this is outrageous. So they just took rm200 like that.
Then how was the solution?
It happened to me as well, I clicked back and refreshed page to redo. It failed twice but on my third try. The transaction was succesfull.
@@markimura Unfortunately it kicked me out to the homepage right after taking the money. So no matter how many times I refreshed I would just see the homepage. It's been 2 weeks, I emailed the support and still getting no compensation on the matter. Guess it's just pure bad luck for me here.

For online renewal; after it has been approved; to collect, do you just take a number, wait and then you go directly go to one counter to verify and collect your new passport and the same time giving your documents and old passport for them to cut?
Or you have to take a number, go to a counter, provide your receipt, old passport, and any other documents needed; and then get another number and wait again before collecting?
If it is the latter, that would be the same as a walk in process and doesn't speed up the whole process.
Trying to figure out if online renewal is better than walk in. If it can saves hours of your time, online would be the best option. Otherwise, walk in works.
Collect, take a number, wait and then you can go directly to one counter to verify and collect your new passport and the same time give your documents and old passport for them to cut.

Theoretically you could but it’s a 6-8 week window for it to be ready and the pick up appointments are very hard to get ie you may not be able to plan the exact day to coincide with your trip.

the photo cannot upload until today , the photo size already reduce to 35KB
The photo size have to be minimum 50KB. Try using a photo editing app to increase the file size. Then when uploading the photo that time - make sure the face is exactly in the blue oval
