5:50 that makes for interesting coop levels
Spoilers:
#1 you can hold 🔺 or🔻to spin in a dry bone shell manually
#2 Mario can pick up raccoon Luigi and use his flying ability
#3 in the sky night theme, if you don't hold left or right, you will go further
#4 stretch boos will stop if you look at them in the ground night theme
#5 Yoshi's tongue is shorter in the SMW style
#6 dash blocks make Mario so fast that he can go in a pipe without any controller input
#7 in the ground night theme, boos will change behaviors so they stop with Mario's back, and move with Mario's face
#8 vines in block on tracks will stop after three vertical screens and vines in stationary blocks will grow forever
#9 boos can't go through other boos
#10 donut blocks will slow down in lava and will remain at the same speed in posion
#11 Link's shield can get rid of a thomp's parachute
#12 in the NSMBU style, Mario can pick up Luigi to use his power-up
#13 you can drag Mario around in test mode
#14 if the second player gets a mega mushroom, for some reason, both players will weigh the same
#15 in the SMW style, Yoshi's tongue is not able to lick any kind of koopa head in a one block gap unlike in the NSMBU style
#16 Mario can't enter a pipe if there's a piranha creeper on the side
#17 koopa shells on dash blocks will not disappear unlike on normal ground
#18 in the SMW Style, if Mario throws a koopa shell upward right when a naked koopa goes in, the whole koopa will be thrown upward
#19 in the NSMBU style, if you jump off yoshi while standing still, you can't turn around until you land
#20 magikoopa can make the flag/axe disappear until defeated

3:38 I have a feeling that this is because the block on the track counts as an entity, and therefore despawns when 3 screens away in a vertical sub area. And when the block despawns, the vine stops growing, as if the block was blown up

I don't think it would despawn, tracks are global ground, right?
@@accuratejaney8140 I think items on tracks were only globally loaded in smm1, which is why you can't put a blue platform on a track for global ground anymore
@@ralphy1054 In a vertical world, I activated a shellmet with an on/off block, and once i got to the very top screen, the on/off block was still going. The shellmet was on a blue winged platform on tracks.
Did you know that in the 3D World style, if you backflip onto a power-up, and then jump immediately after, the game will think you backflipped again, and you will jump the same 5 1/2 height, as well as jump with a cloud of steam. Not really a glitch, but is pretty cool to watch.
The second one would be really good in 2 player co-op levels
Great video, but could you please balance the volumes of the voices a bit more next time? I can barely hear Smashy, and then Arrowstotle comes in really loud

I love these videos and it’s always interesting to see, nice to see some unique tricks i personally didn’t know before and how long this series can last.
Small bit of constructive criticism however, maybe go back to the videos with captions instead? I appreciate the voice over attempt but it’s much easier for people to understand that bold font. Also it’d be nice coming to your videos for a change of pace from everyone else who decided to commentate. Not saying i don’t like your voice, just miss the captions that i didn’t find anywhere else, and now can’t find anywhere

Hello Smashy, I just found you, thank you for the video. I was curious, I see this is super recent as a video - are the dash blocks still global ground? I just got into smm2, and a lot of material out there lists other things as global ground that were patched out (icicles, fire bars, etc.) I was curious if you knew the updated list of global ground items? I can't find anything definitive.
anyway! I appreciate the video and the tips, I did not know a lot of this!
Can you make a video on the behavior of the 3.0 version power ups at night ground theme. People doesn't seem realize that they have unique behavior just like any old power up. That could be helpful for new contraptions/glitches.

Another thing: In all game styles, if you hold Z then even slightly touch the A button, you’ll do a full jump even though your not holding the jump button
The opposite is also true. Hold "A" and tap "Z" and you'll perform a full spin jump.
If you have a clear condition of dont touch the ground after jumping, a buzzy beetle doesn't count as ground but if the buzzy beetle has wings it counts as ground. whats up with that?

That P was also in the corner of the screen in the original SMB 3 for the NES and SNES. That P represents the speed the player is moving at. If the P bar is full, the player will move really fast and jump really high. I think the P bar is used when flying!

@@hiiistrex2838, I still don't have my Nintendo Switch, but I watched hundreds of MM2 videos on TH-cam and I'm pretty sure it works with Fire Flower Spin Jump, or FFSJ. Also, flying with the Cape can't move Mario backwards while fixing his facing direction!
