I have a friend who babysat a ball python. I held her and played with her. She was very sweet. I love snakes. Some days are horrible some are great. But I will not stop fighting. I have to work with what I have, we all do. Find spots of happiness. 🤗👍🏾😀
The collab I never expected. Been following Joe for a little over a yr now. All of his animals are incredibly well trained. Cant wait to see where Raptor will be a yr from now.
That motivation they speak of is actually what is called "prey drive" and it is very easy to teach a dog with high prey drive vs a dog who has low prey drive.
What a cool collab, made me miss my ferret though. I love seeing how different hobbyists keep and interact with their animals, Share the knowledge people!!

He has an extraordinary bond with him as well,the bind with the rest of the inhabitants of the camp

That was excellent bro your progress so far is amazing I would love to see other reptile people even professional herpetologists take note of what is being done here. This is breaking new ground and will possibly result in discovering new things about monitors that have not been known before and never thought possible for monitors! I would not be surprised now if it is found that monitor intelligence is just as good or at least close to that of a bird of prey. Nice job that you have collaborated with Keenan and I hope it continues for a long time! Both of you are awesome in your respective fields and I love watching both channels. I would love to see Keenan do some training of some sort with slinky and lagatha. That would be so cool I am beginning to think monitors have more potential than we have ever realised! Tbh as a former zoologist who did a lot of field work I think what he has done taking sort if falconry and ferreting techniques and apply them to what people think of as untrainable animals. I think the "working animal stereotype" turns some people off. Personally I find something really thoughtful about his approach. He treats the animals like partners and works with their strengths. He doesn't really try to make them pets. It's refreshing tbh.
"Reptile experts": whistling and calling to your monitors dont mean anything. Me: then what do they have ears for?!?😅 love the videos as always and the raptor training series from the mink man is soo interesting and I reccomend it if you wanna see how smart monitor lizards can be.
@Katherine Smith I agree with ya that they're not purely motivated by instinct and biology. Yes they are animals but to an extent they do feel. And snakes to me are just such an amazing group of reptiles. "Seriously misunderstood creatures dragons are". Lol
My brother has a decent selection of venomous snakes. All his reptiles are removed from the enclosure and fed in black plastic bins. they have all made the association with the bin being the feeding area and as a result, dont have a attack/food response when in the cage. there is also little to no association between hands and food. so they can definitely be trained. "Bob" the olive python is also about as placid as any animal gets, regularly doing shows at schools etc. i 100% believe reptiles can be trained to some degree
Lol the social interaction between you two was funny, Joseph seemed a bit anxious, I also picked up on some of the passive aggressiveness from Kenan. I think im a bit obsessed with psychology at the moment
it feels as though we're training each other, per individual animal. There's the commonality to each species, but personality makes the difference with the little things.

I have watched both videos (mink man and Kenan), apart from being informative one thing I can notice is video quality, Kenan's video is much better in quality than Mink man, nice camera work here by Kenan.
Every creature has its own personality!!! So u are absolutely correct! You have to adapt and evolve aroumd that specific creature and even though you may have two of the same animal they both may learn completely different than one another that's their personality or traits you have to be able to adopt each creature you on regardless of species!
@@ghostwalk2446 The funny think is he "tortures" vermins in a way which is more natural and more safe than just let them eat poison which can be dangerous to the environment. And technicly his animals kill those vermin, which they enjoy, when he does pest control and he use their dead body instead trowing them away like trash. But hey it is your opinion

You either love animals or you don't, there's something wrong with a person who can love minks while torturing and killing otters and muskrats. There's a lake in my backyard full of these beautiful creatures, they don't bother myself, my family, our pets, or any of the neighbors. "Pest control" is just a bullshit excuse to justify sick, deranged behavior

They absolutely can be. The primary reason it's harder to train them is because they have no social desire to please you.
