Awesome to see the inside of the bridge, the radar information, all that good jaz. Thank you for the great vid! NWO just keeps getting more interesting... more and more and more to learn. 'tis an ocean of knowledge to be had.
Great video! The Lt (N) did a fantastic job in deescribing the vessel, it’s role and his job as a training officer. He impressed as knowledgeable and confident leader.
Thank you so much. 😊❤😊 for doing an excellent tour by a very professional mariner CO of the ( Orcas) class Canadian Navy TRAINING vessels the many thay have but I heard need for more. 😊 the way the bridge is set up is a fantastic layout. Wish American Navy had the same class vessels for training. If they do, please correct me. I love how he explains the Navy TERMS for different parts and spaces. 😊 very professional, and I never knew what the steps were named as you come on these ship shape vessels ( by seeing the possible new officers doing their ship shape work) as you did the tour. Please , can you get access to NANAIMO ( fair winds underseas warfare base) and do a tour of the TWO noise / sonar vessels ( 611& 613) these two vessels do joint testing of underseas weapons systems with US Navy 😊 they track the test of " say" a Torpedo. They used to do open houses every two years. 😊 that is how I got to see them, and the captain on 611 did a fantastic tour, " just like your CO did on this video. The Captain liked my cover so much he wanted it. (USS Rodney M. Davis FFG- 60) The hat is my favorite, so I am not letting it go 😊 I wear it proudly at Veteran Parade My 6 years was Army National Guard was on ( ST-2154) a small tug almost the same as the smaller tugs at the other pier when you went out on the tractor tugs. The Old school look Tug boats. My other cover is for the Trident sub ( USS Alabama SSBN- 731) 😊 got to do a Dive in Hood Canal on her. Also, I got to see manning the RAILS for two new US Navy Ships. The USS Shoup -DDG-86 & USS Bridge-AOE- 10 both had fantastic Steel Beach Picnic setups on the helicopter landing area. 😊❤😊 please see if you can do a tour of Canadian Navy vessels 611 & 613 I think your viewers would like those vessels and How are they set up for testing and training. 😊 you do excellent work on your video series my all things Canadian Navy friend 😊❤
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment and for your suggestion! I was really impressed by LT (N) Makow. Stay turned for more episodes of Season 3 soon! I will absolutely make effort to honour your request so please stay tuned -- it may take a while, but I'll do my best! 🙂
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, it means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed this episode, and I hope you will subscribe (in case you haven't) because there's a lot more to come! 🙂 Go Bold!
Another very important comment I had was the maneuver the other ( Orcas) class did leaving alongside the other vessel. 😊 the forward, then turn bow inward, to move stern AWAY, to back thrust of props, watching that is a learning task for getting a vessel off of along side, people watching the maneuver can learn front it 😊❤😊
For sure, the Kingston class is nearing the end of its lifespan, so the Navy is working on a project which is notionally being called a multi-mission corvette. It's early days, so it will be interesting to see how that develops.
Yup it is! Calgary is still where you see it in the video... it will be returned to the fleet in 2025 with the dazzle paint scheme! I'm very glad the Navy is continuing to paint some of their ships with special livery,, and I hope they do more! 🙂
Arm it adequately & intelligently. Soverignty, customs, fishery patrol in pairs. Your officers will be a superior product and you will contribute to coastal defense much sooner.
What a great representation of a “Once Proud” Canadian Naval Officer! Get your hands out of your pockets for a starters. The wall is a bulkhead and the ceiling is a deck head. Wow have we gone down hill.
@@alpearson9158 You're wrong, the officer got the terminology wrong between bulkhead and deckhead. For "land lubbers," as you call them, "deckhead" means ceiling and "bulkhead" means wall. Rewatch the clip. He misnames them.
What a dip, the Lt(N) makes one flub and you can judge the state of the RCN on that, very sad! BTW did you pick up any other mistakes as he conducted a tour of the boat? I thought he did very good. Give yourself an Atta- Boy sir!
I agree. He did a great job! I learnt a lot, so that's a win! Thanks for making these videos, they are some of the best out there on the Canadian Forces!
Tut tut Mr. @ one america... the USN has its very own ORCA analogs the YP 703 class that is used for exactly the same purpose as the ORCAs, if you squint a little they even look the same. Not every military vessel is fitted for or equipped to "ENGAGE THE ENEMY" in a surface action. Junior BWK must walk before they run, not go to Action Stations in Lower Halibut Cove!😃

I totally agree! I didn't prep him on anything I wanted to ask or learn. Everything he shared was off the cuff, and I was totally impressed too! 🙂
Lt. Makow was amazing 👏
I totally agree! He was professional, knowledgeable and enthusiastic -- all great qualities!
Great questions, very professional, super informative.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and for watching! It means a lot 🙂
As an amateur sailor whose eldest son is ex-RCN, I found this informative and really cool.
Really happy you enjoyed it! There are more to come!
Deck watch officers being recognized...Heck yeah
Thank you so much. 😊❤😊 for doing an excellent tour by a very professional mariner

What a great video! Learned a lot from a very professional sailor.
Really happy you enjoyed it. I'm often impressed by the majority of sailors of the Royal Canadian Navy. Thank you for watching!
Great vid!

We're trying to get government to spend more on military
Kingston class ship will probably be next for replacement

Bulkhead /Deckhead ???
Yup, he got them reversed.
is this from 2024? I didn't know Calgary was getting a dazzle paint scheme.

l would love to be in the naval reserve

I do not see rat guards on your short lines ?????

no the idea is to talk to those that have no clue thus the simple land lubber language

NAVY PFFF RIGHT. MORE LIKE COAST GUARD RESERVE. THE US COAST GUARD HAS HIGHER POWER WEAPONS.

Before these, they used old wooden minesweeper for the same purpose.
