Thank you very much for this video. My buddy replaced my booster for me but did put the washers on correctly, the switch kept moving around. This video helped alot
Wow! This video is EXACTLY what I needed! I took apart the brake switch without really paying attention to replace the brake booster. Thank you so much for taking the time to have this pedal mock-up and explaining everything clearly! I just subscribed and liked this video! Cheers!
did a hydroboost conversion and lost all the washers in the process, project runs now so went to do the brake lights becasue thats important.. learned a reason why my brakes kinda suck great vid
Great video man,i did my booster this weekend and i just realized by watching your video i had my nylon stuff backwards from the last time i did the booster back in 08,i had the black nylon in first then the white one on the outside, been working fine 16 years but hey, why not assemble it correctly this time right? thanks again.
Thanx for the vid, why when you initially took of the black plastic bearing it came from the right side of the booster rod and when you installed you put in the left side of the booster rod?
Soooo glad to find this vid!! My issue is the brake lights wont activate until the pedal is past the halfway mark of pedal travel. Im on my 3rd brake light switch..Any suggestions? Have you had this problem before? Thanks!! 87 Mustang 5 litre.Signed, VERY nervous Mustang driver!😳
You've likely figured something out by now but for what it's worth, my guess is you may need to shim up where the contact meets the spring on the switch? There could be too much travel/play? Good luck.
@@Foxedup man thank you so much . So i actually have to plugs coming from the dash , one plug ( which plugs into that box that cuts cruise control ) that plug is 3 wires all red with green stripe. I have another plug that’s blue with yellow stripe and black with white stripe which I can’t find any other plug that connects to it . Would you happen to know ?
@@Eddie510s can you send me a picture of the plug (looking into the end of the plug) and I’ll try to identify it for you. Email it to greg@alteredfox.com
When you take it apart the lip on the bushing is on the inside and it falls out, when you put it back together you put the lip of the bushing on the outside, which is it?
That's your clutch engagement control box,if you have a standard you have to depress the clutch before starting the car, this box makes sure you do that or the car wont start, its a safety device.
This video works for a 78 Fairmont
Perfect!
This was very helpful, one of the easiest but most needed fixes i’ve done on my fox, thanks a lot
Thanks!

Awesome thanks!!
Man you the man... taking time to shows us more than once and getting great camera angle.. unheard of.. thanks fox bro
Excellent! Glad to help!
Awesome freak video! I was hesitant about removing anything until I comprehended how it went together. Thank you!!
Excellent. Good luck!
Best instruction video. Can a cotter pin be substituted in the event red pin is damaged or non existent
I would say only temporarily. You’ll want a heavier duty non-rusting pin in there since a failure could cause you to not have brakes.
Excellent video, glad you actually showed all the steps!
Thanks!
Very good, excellent easy to follow.
Thanks!

Great video. Thank You for the great information
You bet!
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks!
Very good information,. I didn't know the cruise control was there. . Thanks 👍

Good catch! 👁️👁️
I had it on the wrong side before the video. The installation is the correct placement.
Great video!
Thanks!
This was extremely helpful. Glad you actually showed how it’s supposed to fit.
Thanks! Before I made this, I spent a lot of time not learning much with all of the other brake switch videos out there!
Excellent….. best by far!!! Now I know I’m missing my cruise control stopper
Thanks! Yeah there’s a lot going on under there!
Very well done, thank you!
You bet!! Thanks!
Thanks for the clear demo. Music is a bit distracting for zero gain in my opinion.
LOL I don’t know what I was thinking with that nonsense!

Awesome video ! Hey question, what’s the box to the right hand side with those two plugs ??
That cuts the cruise control when pressing the clutch

Throwin that Landon shade
How can I test this switch before I take it out? I want to make sure it’s this before I do
This switch if is bad , prevents the transmission from shifting? Stock in p. 1990
The brake light switch shouldn’t impact shifting at all.

I assembled it correctly. It was wrong when I took it apart. Good catch!
I’m trying to find that connector that goes on the side of the pedal box is there a part # on it?
I’m dealing with my cruise switch. I’m missing the black plastic piece you showed. My pedal won’t come back enough to push the switch.
I don’t think that is available anywhere. You’ll have to check eBay and foxbody junkyards.
What is the switch to the right of the brake light switch?
Just get to the point! I wanna know how the dang switch and bushing went back. Not about everything else on the dang car.
Yes!
@@FoxedupYou have a lot of patience,i would have told him something else, lol, apparently he doesn't know how to fast forward a video.
@@dntlss yeah I know. I figured 9 minutes wasn’t bad. And it’s certainly a better use of time than all the other videos that aren’t actually helpful!
