      its powerful to you because you have a simple mind. Byron Allen is a race bater. A new one pops up every couple of years. His wife is white, how does he give a dam about black issuse/family and community? Use your logic not your emotion. Black Americans are killing themselves. It's Not America's fault your child can't read. Where are the fathers? Byron's wife is white, how is he speaking for black families? Every time blacks are mentioned, gay community is embedded. Yall can't see the game they are playing?

    • @MandyZ1225
      @MandyZ1225 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I was an educator for 42 yrs, mostly in all black schools. Around 1990 I started to see a shift in our AAmerican children. The lack of respect and motivation to do better and be better was disappearing. 5 out of 30 students were trying and those were the ones with parents supporting them and respected the encouragement from the teacher. They only cared about being a sports figure or rapping which is fine if you have the talent but most didn’t . I tried to teach them to always have a plan B . It was heartbreaking. It’s so sad , I treated all my students with respect and gave everyone the same highly qualified education and that the only year my students scored off the charts on on everything when I had a class of 26 students 1 African American and for 42 years I never gave up. So when you say enemies teaching your children, who do you mean?

    • @tsing190
      @tsing190 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MandyZ1225 Good for you for teaching the curriculum standard and doing your best to keep students informed/engaged. But I think what Malcolm X was referring to was that black parents need to teach their own children things that are taught in school as well as outside of school. For example, one of my nephew's assignments for history class was to pick a country in Africa and write about how they were colonized/what happened, etc. I asked him why he didn't get to pick a country that did NOT get colonized? His response was, "There were countries that didn't get colonized?!" He didn't even know... because it wasn't even taught in the school.

    • @josephekutshu7426
      @josephekutshu7426 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@tsing190Okay, well that would have been 2 countries, and unless he was in a classroom of 2 kids someone was going to have to research the colonized ones. Also isn't learning about the atrocities of colonialism not considered good practice when teaching black history? Sounds like YOU want to leave that part out of the curriculum out because it makes YOU uncomfortable. We should not rewrite history and we should never be selective about what we teach. TEACH IT ALL. This is coming from a high school history teacher who teaches US History and African American History. Also, saying he didn't know about the uncolonized countries because it wasn't taught in school should be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe it wasn't taught YET, or maybe just maybe it was taught and like kids tend to do, he did not pay attention. As a teacher it drives me nuts to teach things regularly just for students to go on in the future to say it was not taught! No it was taught, you just were chatting with friends and ignoring the lesson.

    • @tsing190
      @tsing190 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @josephekutshu7426 You missed my point. Good for you that you were a teacher. Btw, my nephew has an A in that class. Before you begin to get angry over an opinion that I'M ALLOWED to have, my point was that teachers are only allowed to teach the curriculum of what they're given. They can't go off subject. So because my nephew was only learning about colonized countries, I was asking him in a manner more to challenge the narrative of why should they only learn about the countries that were colonized? Also, btw, they are done with that lesson plan and sure enough... the teacher NEVER brought up the countries that were not colonized.

    Thank you Byron Allen for, as MLK would say, for making it simple - stating the truth as simple as it is. In 2024, Black America, until we are collective known as just America, must continue to fight for our human rights and justice. We must continue to support each other and never let others divide us. We are stronger together than ever for which a change is gonna come. When I look in the mirror, I must also see my brother and sister standing beside me and behind me are our ancestors who never gave up the fight. Let's support the get out and right to vote on the local and national level. Set the change in motion by exercising your right to vote for those who recognize the fight for truth.

      Racist people have consistently destroyed nice black neighborhoods from Black Wallstreet to present day. There was a man that burned down a lot of new homes being built when he fought out that most of the buyers were black. I think this happened in Charles County, MD around 2010. Now you will be surprised how many black people live in these white areas. I don't see it as moving to the white people moving to a higher economic bracket. @@laughingdog747

    What resonates with me is his statement about the disparity between Blacks and Whites when it comes to education. The key to a successful turnaround does not lie with White America; it lies with us Blacks. I no longer reside in America, but I do vacation there annually. Believe me when I tell you it breaks my heart seeing so many still doing things which will lead to nowhere. I still see a reluctance to read, which is a cornerstone of learning. I still see spending money where there is none. And yes; I still see way too many kids being raised without a father in the home. We cannot change what happened to us, but we can decide to make good, sound decisions, which will better position us in the future. We know better and it is time to do better.

      I think it’s interesting that the gews were not to blame for their demise with the Germans. It was the Germans fault. But the gews were afforded reparations. Black people on the other hand are at fault for the hundreds of years of their oppression - no reparations for damage done. Yes. We have to fix ourselves, and I believe we will given all we have overcome. But the expectation is that no crime has been committed to blacks people (ADOS) that deserves justice. Everyone else got reparations, but ADOS - deserves nothing. But still we rise.

      @monique0096 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@robertdavis1084 I understand that sentiment and agree that those that owe reparations do not have the humanity to do the right thing. Without this innate humanity, what makes you believe that any gains we make will be met with an honest acknowledgment and acceptance of that progress? What will we have to do live freely and not be attacked, falsely imprisoned, or discriminated agains?. They will find a way to undo the gains. History has proven that. LA now has non-citizen police officers. They are recruiting foreigners for the military and promising them citizenship for the successful completion of their service time. Illegals that don’t look like us are getting free job training, free money and free housing using black tax dollars because they are being out in our neighborhoods. All while the daily reports continue to come in of innocent black men serving time crimes they did not commit, unarmed black men are shot by the law while white threats walk away alive, professional black people are arrested for living in upscale neighborhoods, or driving, walking, eating, etc. while black. Successful ADOS still worry about living in Amerikkka just like average struggling ADOS. The super rich ADOS in the entertainment industry seem to have bought into the system and occasionally get their wake up call. But for the rest of us the struggle continues in spite of our success, but still we rise.

      @RLDZ1 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@monique0096 you concluded by saying "but still we rise." Truer and more appropriate words have never been spoken.
      I don´t know how old you are, but I`m 57 and I am well aware that we still have many hurdles to overcome until we get
      to where we wish to be. I get it. At the same time, I do not believe that focusing on what others are doing, or aren`t doing, is beneficial to us; I believe we`d be better served by
      concentrating on what we can control. Although the situation is far from good, it has improved and I am confident that it will continue to do so albeit at a slow pace. No longer are we enslaved; no longer are we not allowed in restaurants in southern cities. No longer are we not allowed to serve in certain military units. ( I am a veteran)
      No longer are we not allowed to know how to read, yet we are still too reluctant to do so regularly, or read to our kids on a regular basis. Why? When are we going to learn to turn
      the TV off and pick up a book? More than ever before, WE are in control of our destiny and we have to understand that if we are to achieve true equality and real freedom, it is us
      who have to make this happen.
      America enslaved Blacks for almost 250 years and look how far we have come. We are resilient and I would like you to remember this when it seems that America is doing all it
      can to keep us down.
      I travel to Houston at least once a year and believe me when I tell you it hurts me to my heart to see what so many of us are still doing. And it has little to do with others. I`m
      assuming you live in LA, so I don´t think I need to point out the bad decisions way too many of us are still making. This needs to change! When we begin to make better life
      decisions, I guarantee you that those trying to keep us down will find themselves unable to do so.

      The man has had his own network for years now to change the narrative of blk folks , all he airs is reality shows ( drama ) and entertainment ( comedy ) . No real discussions , no deep dive into subjects.
      Where is it at ?
      I can't believe y'all fell 4 this.

    I remember watching Byron Allen as a kid, I'm talking like 40 plus years ago . I loved seeing him on tv and I would always wondered what happened to him. Why is it I didn't see this talented and intelligent brother on tv anymore. Little did I know this brother was behind the scenes doing big things . May God continue to bless him, I pray everyday that the black community will come together and unite to better not just our community but for this great country as a whole . Lord if we can reach our youth and teach them to see value in themselves and everyone around them. To stop this senseless killing . To take education seriously and vote like their lives dependent on it . We could grow our political and economic power in this country. Who knows how many Byron Allen's we could have saved and still can save. Let's get it together black America, we've done it before and we can do it again. One love my brother's and sisters ❤ ✌🏾

    Pushing for CRT (critical race theory) in the schools, and CONTINUING the push for reparations would be a tremendous help; leveling the playing field, like America has done for others it has wronged. Also, all these millionaire athletes can go back to their respective communities start, at the least, a viable grocery store. NBA Basketball great Hakeem Alajuwon took his wealth and opened a hospital in Nigeria !!! ENOUGH SAID ……

    Think whatever you want. Just do it critically and with genuine intellectual honesty.
    The 5 Steps to Critical Thinking:
    What is critical thinking?
    In general, critical thinking refers to actively questioning statements rather than blindly accepting them.
    Critical thinking results in radical free will.
    1. The critical thinker is flexible yet maintains an attitude of healthy skepticism.
    Critical thinkers are open to new information, ideas, and claims. They genuinely consider alternative explanations and possibilities. However, this open-mindedness is tempered by a healthy sense of skepticism (Hyman, 2007).
    The critical thinker consistently asks, “What evidence supports this claim?”
    2. The critical thinker scrutinizes the evidence before drawing conclusions.
    Critical thinkers strive to weigh all the available evidence before arriving at conclusions. In evaluating evidence, critical thinkers distinguish between empirical evidence versus opinions based on feelings or personal experience.
    3. The critical thinker can assume other perspectives.
    Critical thinkers are not imprisoned by their own points of view. Nor are they limited in their capacity to imagine life experiences and perspectives that are fundamentally different from their own. Rather, the critical thinker strives to understand and evaluate issues from many different angles.
    4. The critical thinker is aware of biases and assumptions.
    In evaluating evidence and ideas, critical thinkers strive to identify the biases and assumptions that are inherent in any argument (Riggio & Halpern, 2006). Critical thinkers also try to identify and minimize the influence of their own biases.
    5. The critical thinker engages in reflective thinking.
    Critical thinkers avoid knee-jerk responses. Instead, critical thinkers are reflective. Most complex issues are unlikely to have a simple solution. Therefore, critical thinkers resist the temptation to sidestep complexity by boiling an issue down to an either/or, yes/no kind of proposition. Instead, the critical thinker expects and accepts complexity (Halpern, 2007).
    Critical thinking is not a single skill, but rather a set of attitudes and thinking skills. As is true with any set of skills, you can get better at these skills with practice.
    In a nut shell, critical thinking is the active process of minimizing preconceptions and biases while evaluating evidence, determining the conclusions that can reasonably be drawn from evidence, and considering alternative explanations for research findings or other phenomena.
    CRITICAL THINKING QUESTIONS
    >Why might other people want to discourage you from critical thinking?
    >In what situations is it probably most difficult or challenging for you to exercise critical thinking skills? Why?
    > What can you do or say to encourage others to use critical thinking in evaluating questionable claims or assertions?

    The truth is we got to structure our families correctly. Stop having babies out of wedlock. Create partnerships and relationships based on good values.

    • @hartubmoses6645
      @hartubmoses6645 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There are also problems within wedlock. Marriage is good, and it has its place, but it is not a panacea for all that is wrong with a community or society at large.
