These chart play alongs and analyses are just excellent Rik. Different grooves, applied breaks, dynamics, cymbal selections, there's so much in here quite apart from the reading itself. Whatever style of drums you play, it's an education. Bravo.
I hate how busy this chart is… I could dump much of the notation, leave some of your notes as they spell out the more crucial set ups / figures. I feel many Latin charts are needlessly busy. But as always, your playing is remarkably good. I like how you say “you could do a left foot clave here” haha, no I can’t… Your independence and Latin feel is too good…
Hi As you probably know, drum charts range from a page of slashes to every possible rhythm. The more details, the better for me, but composers and arrangers should try and refrain from writing the imagined groove out and stick to the style description and hits.
