Remids me Taveta in 1988 I was in class four we were living next to Top life bar the song could play overnight . Real life memories. I had a dream of becoming radio broadcaster and when the dream came true I revenged by playing this song almost each night on my radio show kbc radio Kenya.

Really, I'm from the '80s. When I was very young in Dar es Salaam with my parents. Those songs I already heard on RTD, great memory. I miss the old days, today I'm in Mozambique with my family still remembering the old days. Great music, great Mbilia bel

Am a late 90's baby, so I can't really say I've growing up listening to this woman, and i didnt know how phenomenal she was in her prime, but recently I develop a hobby for listening to some old school African songs, and I've discover a lot of classics from our own African legendary divas such mbilia bel herself, tshala muana, Monique seka, yvone chakachaka, Brenda fassie, Angelique kidjo, and mariam makeba. I can't help but feeling proud as an African, because for the longest I never really was interested in African old school, but was busy appreciating the american music and modern african music. Its too sad that we, as African don't really know how to appreciate our own culture and pride, we don't cerebrate our own legends or music, like Americans do, take someone like mbilia bel if she was american artist she coulda been in levels like Madonna, or even bigger!! But am just saying, tho
You've taken me back to a journey of listening to all of the legends you've listed. I'm a late 90's baby as well, now back to the roots. Thanks! All the best in your life, x 🤗🌻❤
I am a Nigerian, of the Igbo extraction, born in the mid eighties. Growing up in the nineties, this song was part of my childhood. Used to listen to it playing on the radio. Couldn't understand the language, but loved this song so much. Been searching for it for years now. Funny, after all these years, am still madly in love with this song. Nostalgia critical. Thanks for posting this video, you have no idea what you have done for me.
Eh Mama Mbilia !
First song I heard her sing was Eswi you Wapi back in 1982 when I arrived in the DRC. She was then with Tabu Ley Rochereau and his orchestra. A beautiful voice that produced a string of hits during the 9 years I lived and worked in that country. Thanks to the internet and TH-cam, I continue to enjoy so many great songs from her and so many other African musicians from Congo and elsewhere. Love this song and the message. We are stewards of this earth and must learn to live in harmony with nature and with each other. Aksanti.

She’s superb ..... she’s an uncelebrated African queen she deserves the crown ..... she’s got the angelic voice she’s a great dancer a performer one of the best female vocalist of all time ..... world over. RIP my dad Temba wanyama, still remembering u thru this song when still young in Nakuru
Physical beauty ,golden voice and touch of professional elegance ..The Queen of African music her music will live forever
My dad used to tell me
That this woman is a legend
