I'm pretty sure FS knows exactly what we expect, they just don't care as people keep buying goggles lacking basic features. They know the are the best but they prefer to be just a bit ahead of the competitors instead of delivering the best experience possible every time, that's sad but this is how it is. :/
Nice work! Do you know where to get replacement module covers? Want to give this mod a shot but would like to know I can get a replacement cover if needed. Thanks!
Depending on where you leave you can buy the door for less than $10 or even a full replacement shell for $40. If you take your time you shoudn't have any issue. Make sure to mesure 3 times before drilling. If you drill small holes and grind them slowly to the right size you will make a good job for sure. ;)
If you speak about the potentiometer, you can find the link of all the components in the video description. If you don't find this exact one in a shop nearby, just look for a potentiometer with similar specs. :)
Hi mate, sorry for the delay! I got my leather face plate at TheHobbyman, a shop in Melbourne. You should be able to get one online or at your local hobby shop. The leather face plate is the slimmest. It's between 10-8mm uncompressed but goes all the way down to 3-4mm when you have it on your face. It's not the most comfortable one at the beginning but you get used to it. What I like about it is that it closes pretty well the gaps and avoid light leaks. And because it is slim your eyes are pretty close to the lenses and you get let blur on the edges of the screens.
Nice to see someone actually thinking about their mods, instead of just hacking.
Nice and clean work mate! 👍
I love that it's totally undo-able bc I hate having to drill and solder into brand new products
Switching to the HDO's since my commanders died. Been looking for a switch option that won't void the warranty. This is great. Thanks!!
Nice ! Simple, easy and very informative ♥️ More please 👊
You should send that to FS! Or sell a 3D printed kit for all of us working 10 hours day with barely the time to fly. Nice job!
