I don't identify as a Christian because while I believe in God and Jesus, I don't accept what the church has become, and I accept all human faiths as having some truth to them. (and I've spent decades studying world religions) so that's where I'm coming from here. I think that things like this are mocking a very specific type of Christian, not the entire faith and that's why it doesn't offend me. I wrote a piece about why it is that some folks who dabble in the occult get trouble; it's not because there are actual supernatural forces ready to pounce on wavering Christians, it's because these kinds of things can only tap into their subconscious and create mental and emotional instability based upon the motive behind the dabbling. Similar to how back in the 60s there was a correlation between adolescent smoking and teen pregnancy, but cigarettes are definitely not an aphrodisiac. The causal portion was the teenaged rebelliousness and seeking of trouble being engaged in specifically to piss off authority figures and act out. In a spiritual setting a similar kind of recklessness and ignorance of consequences combined with the real power of the human unconscious (the reason why placebos have affects) and you get a potent way for people to break their own minds.
I love what you wrote, KetsuekiRose! I'm hoping that you are a teacher, because we sure do need minds like yours teaching our next generation. There are still some Christian churches today who accept and love all people regardless of race or sexual orientation. Although I'm no longer a believer in what I was taught at the Southern Baptist Church (it never really "took" with me, to be honest) I have found a church I like a lot. I listen to their sermons online. The pastor is a former stand-up comic who was a member of Second City Chicago back in the early 70s. She hung out with the Belushi brothers and other SNL alumni. She applies humor to her sermons. The congregation is multi-ethnic, and many members are LGBTQIA. I'm a couple of those letters, but choose to keep it to myself. I'm never telling my family other than my son. This pastor is one of only two people I've told, and she was wonderful to talk to, and her words helped me to never feel ashamed again for who I am. I could see her having one of these boards just for fun, because they are so ridiculous! She enjoys fun things. One sermon she delivered while wearing a preying (praying) mantis costume that had to be 7 feet tall including antenna. This is a United Methodist Church. The UMC had a big split a few years back, because some wanted to cling to their hatred of LGBTQIA, and others wanted to follow the love, hope, and charity that Jesus taught. Her church chose Love.
@@LazyIRanch I'm happy for you that you found a fulfilling church home. If you get a chance, I also highly recommend Marsha Steven's song, "Is This The Real You" and tear up even just thinking of it! I wish you the peace that passes understand, friend.
SO GLAD to see your comment pointing out exactly how these things work. But I will note there are times when such devices might be helpful. This wouldn't be the case if we were better at paying attention to, and understanding, our instincts. As we generally don't, a board can literally spell things out for us. I just think there are very few who understand the vastness of the subconscious and that there truly are dangerous things there. Yes, people can "break their own minds"!
I'm a standard mainline Protestant, born and bred. My parents bought a Ouija board for my sister and I when we were young. Even then, we knew this fake thing had no special powers. I'm not sure whether to be amused at the marketers or aghast at gullible people who take this stuff seriously.
Same amount of "truth"and "power" as a Bible, a quoran, the Torah, book of Mormon, or meter used by scientology....they all only have the power to extract money from those being taught from it and excuse some of the worst behaviors of humanity as long as it's to support said religion.
I can appreciate this as a gag gift for someone who takes themselves and their religion far too seriously but then again you might not get invited to their cookouts anymore after this one 😂
When you grow up surrounded by Southern Baptists who outdo ancient Rome at reject or appropriate, no. I would be utterly unsurprised to find that for sale at Life Empowered Bookstore
We have a lot of people in the US. It's the ones who take themselves far too seriously that we have the most trouble from. Because these are the sorts who would literally want to make a law forbidding the creation and/or sale of the Jesus Talking Board. The people screaming "Freedom!" while telling everyone else how to live their lives and what they are/are not allowed to do.
These reviews are funny, thank you for sharing. The board seems to be a snarky reaction to Satanic Panic era stuff, when ouija and D&D and anything of that nature was condemned. This safe-to-use product makes it all A-OK! 😊👻🔮 I'm also reminded of the popularity of American Spiritualism, in the time after the First World War and the 1918 pando, when so many were lost. People still always have a desire to connect with someone beyond the veil. And so of course there developed a market to provide that service, that experience. This board seems akin to that, if it is meant to be earnest rather than snarky. Who knows. There are many different types of beliefs out there, some syncretic, embracing multiple traditions
There was a series of films in the late 80s called Witchboard .... I can't help thinking this must have been one of the worst sequels , or binge watching them with a lot of drugs ...a lot !!!
Superstition is just regressive silliness. Religions are largely just expressions of cultural superiority and used to extract wealth and control by the clergy from the congregation preying on humans inability to grasp death and historically to motivate the poor to work their lives away in poverty to make the wealthy have more and more comfortable lives with some silly false promise that once you've worked your life away like a good little slave and only them do you get rewarded. Meanwhile the preacher is enjoying the fruits of your labor and your children's innocence.
Hello, delicious woman. I agree with your perspective on this. I love the comments here as well. The product obviously rebrands something the typical Christian is against, to make a sale. Gotta love free markets!
You want to find yourself a bad case of demon possession and an ersatz "Jesus", this strikes me as the fastest shortcut. Run screaming while you still can.
There is a verse in the bible that says that the only unforgivable sin is a sin against the Holy Spirit but it then doesn't really go on to explain what that means, so most Christians kinda ignore the meaning of the verse and don't worry about it too much because how on earth can you sin against the Holy Spirit. My brothers and sisters in Christ, we now have our answer. Goodness gracious.
I was raised in a romani family and my mimeré taught me everything from palmistry , to tarot , and even tea leaves which were all done by working with our angels and spirit godparents. Talking boards are no good I don't care if christ is pictured on it.
I personally think the whole thing is just satire. The product description comes across very tongue-in-cheek to me. I agree that no matter what your faith you need to have a sense of humor, so I'm enjoying the reviews where people are having fun with it.
On a side note, my mother was a paranoid schizophrenic & spent the last few months of her life yelling at her dead adoptive mother to move out & go back to her house & at Jesus, because he was too busy out partying with her mother instead of helping her find her penis, as he apparently agreed to do, which "they" stole from her at birth. So she couldn't "be king."
As you stated let's just move on so I will. However, the one who forgot to end her conversation with goodbye Jesus should know to end the conversation is by saying Amen. 🤔 😊😅
I never liked to talk about my faith even when I was actively going to church. There was such a strong "everyone HAS to know what you believe" narrative in my church that I was never really comfortable with in the first place which I actually think was an instigator in my loss of trust in the church itself. It's not something I'm willing to discuss even now because people have opinions on the church in question that I do not care about at all and because my faith in my god is still intact. That being said, I do have to nominate this for my "can't tell if serious" award. If it is, I have several problems. If it's a joke, I have several more problems. Namely, I actually can suffer from hallucinations and/or delusional thinking if I don't take medication, and not the kind that causes happy fun times. It is more offensive to me as a person with mental illness than it is to me on a religious level when people call religion and religious things delusional or make jokes along those lines. My suffering is not something to take and bend to your own purposes, especially not to belittle others' beliefs. Religions all have their problems, and people with mental illness and even those without can take it way too far, but do not, I repeat, DO NOT equate religion and mental illness. I had a hard enough time with the culture of "well, sinful behavior etc. equals suffering". I don't need or want to hear the inverse. My mental illness was the product of tragedy, not of following a certain faith or lack thereof. My former church has its problems, and I know exactly what those problems are, but my state of being isn't its fault.
Love your sendup of this ridiculous seeming product. Sadly, people today don't realize there are in fact many life forms we can't readily observe. My own experience with Ouija leads me to warn everyone, as you did, to leave this alone.
I'm guessing this is a joke, went to a very religious baptist school as a kid and got in trouble for having a magic eight ball so I cant see them going for this.
To answer your question about who this is for, people like me. I'm a former fundamentalist who no longer sees any evidence of the supernatural so this would be a funny gift for the many others I know who share my experience. I wouldn't give it to my friends who have a faith, that would be insulting. I wouldn't give it to a young child, they'll get enough exposure to religion from friends and family. I think mockery of mythology is fair game, especially when they're mocking two faiths at the same time.
I may be over thinking this but if it is suppose to work correctly shouldn't it have the actual biblical name of Jesus and God on it? I'm thinking im over thinking it. This has to be a joke
'Scuse me, but this is hilarious! 🥲🤣 A Christian themed wot?! I'm dying.. All my grandparents just a'twirlin' in they graves... I gotta look this up. I need to know how the "Prince of Darkness" and the "Christ" are getting on! 💜
That’s really disrespectful to me as a Christian to mock my beliefs. Mocking my God is not very nice. Why is it always ok for Christian’s to be mocked but no one else? Why don’t we pick on Buddha or Allah?
It is pure mockery, I agree. I do believe God has to have a good sense of humor, but not for something like this, but he did create the people who make crazy clothes, at even crazier prices, so we could laugh at them. We are made in Gods image, but those clothes are not…I am talking about Baal-enciaga, here, as well as the other high fashion designers, that you bring to us, every day. Welcome to 2024, welcome to amateur hour. 🤷♀️
*This is no joke. I used to play with them and did it for years. Needless to say I have a huge amount of experience and there's a reason I don't use them anymore. These are very real and there is no guarantee that you are talking to the people/spirit you want to talk to. Maybe you start out with a spirit that seems kind and good (and maybe it actually is) but there's no way to know for sure) but it doesn't take much for whatever it is you're talking to to be pushed out if the way by something stronger and darker. Not to mention they are full of lies. To those thinking of trying it, is it worth your life, spirit or sanity...*
I can see how this could be offensive, especially because of the major fuss that’s been made throughout history over the issue of how people can and should communicate with God and Jesus. Religions are prone to making a big deal over what outsiders might consider trivial details within broader issues, so I’m sure there’s a lot of things about this that could be considered offensive for reasons that wouldn’t occur to me. I define myself as spiritually eclectic, and that includes both aspects of Christianity (mainly Jesus and angels stuff, but explaining it would be a long involved thing because it’s very much my own personal take on things as the result of some strange spiritual experiences) and witchcraft, and Buddhism, but also not limited to those elements. I respect the beliefs and practices of others, as long as they’re not harming anyone (so excluding cults, like Scientology), and I expect to be treated in kind. I believe in following the Golden Rule. I also don’t push my beliefs onto others and I appreciate when others refrain from proselytizing. I do believe in spirits, or rather, I know they exist, because I’ve had direct contact with them on more occasions than I can count, and many of those experiences were intensely vivid and couldn’t even be close to debunked. Before those experiences, I didn’t believe in spirits. I still maintain skepticism, because it’s healthy, and not everything that seems to be paranormal is paranormal. I went from agnostic, or even atheist, to agnostic but more open-minded, to having some certain beliefs but keeping hold of some agnosticism. More than anything, I think it’s arrogant for humans to assume they know everything about anything, especially the greatest philosophical mysteries. If we’re not open to being wrong, we shut ourselves off to the truth, and deny a key aspect of the scientific method. So, I’m saying all this because I have used Ouja boards. I actually have one, although it’s made by a different company than the standard and it looks a bit different. I rarely use it, but when I do, it’s for a specific purpose because I do have some mediumship and psychic abilities. I’m always very careful about how I use it. Just like any tool, there’s right and wrong ways to use it. These reviews are funny, but the reality is that this board also should not be used without caution. As cliche as it is, it’s possible to accidentally allow malicious entities into your space whenever using this kind of device. I think it’s less likely to happen if your intention is to contact Jesus or angels, especially if you begin by doing something like saying a prayer, but one should always use caution anyway. But I tend to agree that this type of thing isn’t necessary at all, and prayer itself is sufficient. Lighting a candle, using a rosary, meditating in a garden, chapel, or other place of serenity, should be enough if you need some extra help focusing your mind on speaking with the divine. The methods used by devotees throughout thousands of years, need no improvement. So my only problem with this product, is that it could be somebody trying to profit off of the faith and gullibility of others. I doubt there are many people who would actually buy it, however.
What the heck is all that thumping around in the background? You're talking about demon boards and it sounds like you've got one under your floor! Disturbing.
I’m a Christian. I don’t go to a church I just believe in Jesus for my salvation, read the Bible and pray to him. That being said, you def don’t go searching for him via an Ouija board. You might find a “Jesus” but it ain’t gonna be the one you want. I used a real Ouija board when I was 16 with my best friend. We were dumb and didn’t know any better. I had a literal out of body experience. Say what you will, but I know what happened to me and I would NEVER touch any Ouija board, tarot cards, crystals, new Age spiritual stuff again. That was and is still the scariest thing to happen to me. I do not recommend going down that rabbit hole 😰 finished the video and adding some of those comments were funny tho and I’m with you, wouldn’t have it in my home.
HaHa...I found your shorts (no, not those) about a month ago, then watched a few vids...I have had more than a few chuckles especially during the shorts! You are fun to watch! Thanks for your review of this product. Like the disclaimers about the ouija, I feel the same way!! Cool that you are a Christian, I share that as well! And a hippie!! hee hee....good stuff!
If it was intended to be a Christian item the inventor should be slapped. The original OUJIA board was intended as a toy and since there is no spiritual beings or ghosts or whatevers, this is beyond silly.
Matthew 6:5 says, "When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward". Jesus continues, "But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret"
I was pagan for like 20yrs of my life, now I am a Christian. Like wtf, who is this thing supposed to be? I never would have used it when I was pagan, and I deff would never use it now. I'm so confused by this product.
The idea of promoting "faith" has always been about taking advantage of people. I don't think gullibility plays into it because it's been passed down, mostly, through parent/child relationships for millenia. Thanks to products like this, more and more people are learning how ridiculous religion and "spirituality" are for understanding reality. Unfortunately, people who are able to believe in one thing without sufficient evidence, they will believe others.
I'm a Pagan witch 🧹 and I can tell you those things are dangerous. Like some one thinking that are talking to a dead child I've told people to ask things like what is ice cream like. Most of the time asking taste things. Bless your gingerbread hearts.🧹🔥🌻🎃🍄⚡💀🪄✨🌟💥💫
I am genuinely frightened by the number of people that sincerely think that the toy is anything other than cheap cardboard, plastic and stickers. Some sincerely believe that the toy can influence the world in some way. In this the age of Feynman, Hawking, Penrose, Einstein and Sagan people can still imagine evil spirits are real in spite of all the literal libraries of data that clearly show such a thing is not possible. Fear is a hell of a drug.
Im not a "Christian" but I am spiritual. I agree that this is a mocking kind of thing. Tbh, I'd rather have a Ouija board, at least it's honest about what it is and ehat it's for.
This is the biggest contradiction. Communicating with spirits is not permitted in Christianity. Any real Christian knows how evil and sinister this really is. Yikes. I rebuke these demons in Jesus name!!! ❤
If you make contact using that thing you are making contact with a demon which is deceiving you! To talk with God or Jesus you don't need some cardboard gimmick, all you have to do is pray... anytime, anywhere.
Bmore? Dan Bell!! Seriously, I am a Christian too, and would not have any of these boards even near me. That said...IT'S FUNNY. GOD has to have a sense of humor. Take a look at the animal world, and some people lol. I don't know if it's mocking our faith, but I think it's rather humorous anyway. I mean my bible study guys were Dr. Chuck Missler and Dr. Michael Heiser. Academics and scholars. They always told jokes relating to biblical stuff. Some are stupid like ...Why did Cain kill his brother? Because he was Able....stuff like that. "Jesus is haunting me" that's hilarious.
As a Christian, I believe this is outright blasphemy. I feel bad for anyone trying to reach Jesus this way. The only thing they will reach is the devil and his minions.
The board has a Goodbye Jesus area, I have a HEELLLLOOOOOO NURSE alert going off ever since I turned on this video Edit: AND you're in Baltimore? I'm in Catonsville around the corner from Bills Music, on Edmondson. Bill just died earlier this week. So sad. Enjoy the snow we are getting any minute now. Be safe if you venture out
To the overly Jesus lady in the first review who said she couldn't think of a worse gift than the Jeujia or Jesus-ijia board or whatever they called it. I'm just saying, given recent track records, I think $5 for your first communion might be a way worst gift over here I'm just saying 🤦🏻♂️🤣😁
The ouiji board is a witchcraft inspired gimmick, not a good thing. I, as a teen, messed with an ouiji board, and it wasn't a good experience. Mixing religion with a non religious item is just seriously dangerous. I am not religious in any way, and I find it offensive
Wow, is this a...... is this a Christian ouija board?!? Melanie (in the product reviews) is 1000% correct! It is a scam and a cash grab! What is wrong with people?! Ouija board: run away, run far, far away! I won't allow myself to be in the same room or building with one of these things. Sheesh!
Some things are not funny. This is not, its mean spirited. That being said, I understand that the makers of this board meant it as a sarcastic way of making fun of some Christian beliefs. I am kind of astonished at how many people are taking it as a serious product.
Jesus told us we will be hated for His sake. Why waste time being offended? In fact, Jesus also told us to turn the other cheek and pray for those who persecute us. So if mocking Christians is your thing, do you boo.
Sorry to be boring, but, as a Christian, I agree with my fellow Christians who gave this very negative reviews. Still hilarious as a product though, in a very darkly evil way.

In a spiritual setting a similar kind of recklessness and ignorance of consequences combined with the real power of the human unconscious (the reason why placebos have affects) and you get a potent way for people to break their own minds.
This is such a cogent and well written response to my dumb little video that I’m kind of embarrassed. Thank you for this.
There is no such thing as "identifying" as a Christian. You are either born again or you are not.
Omg this is just too good!! The reverend Jen and King James must know of this board!! Perfect fundie Fridays item😂😂😂😂😂
Your videos always bring me joy.
Reenforces the statement " a sucker is born ever minute" 😂
I can appreciate this as a gag gift for someone who takes themselves and their religion far too seriously but then again you might not get invited to their cookouts anymore after this one 😂
Do people in the US not comprehend sarcasm?
When you grow up surrounded by Southern Baptists who outdo ancient Rome at reject or appropriate, no. I would be utterly unsurprised to find that for sale at Life Empowered Bookstore
Most do, but a large minority in the US do not.
@@Asongbook it makes no sense, humour and religion are not mutually exclusive.
I'm not a religious person. I like you and your show I'm honestly looking out for you!
I recently got hooked on your videos and love knowing you’re Christian! ✨
As *my* lord and savior J.R. "BoB" Dobbs says: "They may be Pink, but their money's still green!"
I think it is HILARIOUS! But i would not have that in my home. Don't invite trouble! 👻😈
I think by marking the review as “helpful” they really mean amusing. 😂
I think it’s hilarious! I would get one just for a gag, but not for 30$.
"demands 10%" beautiful
I'm completely with you, young hippy
On a side note, my mother was a paranoid schizophrenic & spent the last few months of her life yelling at her dead adoptive mother to move out & go back to her house & at Jesus, because he was too busy out partying with her mother instead of helping her find her penis, as he apparently agreed to do, which "they" stole from her at birth. So she couldn't "be king."
You handled this very, very well. You made a potentially difficult and touchy subject harmless and entertaining. Bravo, Maggie!!
Thank you
As you stated let's just move on so I will. However, the one who forgot to end her conversation with goodbye Jesus should know to end the conversation is by saying Amen. 🤔 😊😅
Oh, he'll no. Not only would I never allow this in my home, I wouldn't allow anyone who owns one in my house.
"Says his real name is Asmodeus." Spit laugh!!!
I am a Christian also and find this bat crap crazy. People will purchase anything. To each his/her own.
'Scuse me, but this is hilarious! 🥲🤣
A Christian themed wot?! I'm dying..
All my grandparents just a'twirlin' in they graves...
I gotta look this up. I need to know how the "Prince of Darkness" and the "Christ" are getting on! 💜
Me too!
That’s really disrespectful to me as a Christian to mock my beliefs. Mocking my God is not very nice. Why is it always ok for Christian’s to be mocked but no one else? Why don’t we pick on Buddha or Allah?
I’m roaring over the reviews 😂😂😂 cheers for reading those hysterical, clever rippers! Off to Amazon for more fun! My day is shot now 😅
It is pure mockery, I agree.
Mocking the mockery is the way to go. I'm not a fan, but you have to giggle as to not be angry about it.
It's not the pretty pictures, design it's the set up. It's not only not christian it's dangerous. These boards attack the mentally disadvantaged.
Thank you so much for watching!
If it was intended to be a Christian item the inventor should be slapped. The original OUJIA board was intended as a toy and since there is no spiritual beings or ghosts or whatevers, this is beyond silly.
Are you familiar with angel cards? I used to know someone that took them very seriously she would probably take this seriously too.
Some people find it helpful, others don’t. Perceptions are from individuals alone.
I don't buy ouiji, or tarot, or black candles. But if anything, it's helpful for learn about and to laugh at.
I love that you are a woman of faith
And proud!
I was pagan for like 20yrs of my life, now I am a Christian. Like wtf, who is this thing supposed to be? I never would have used it when I was pagan, and I deff would never use it now. I'm so confused by this product.
It’s a mockery of Jesus and a petty way for demons to lead the lukewarm christians even further into hell
Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
I feel I could send you a phone book to read, and it would be humorous to watch/listen to.
It’s hilarious and dangerous at the same time.
Yes, this has bad juju. Yes, this is stupid. And yes, this is also laughable. Not this video, but the board.
Holy shit! (Literally, even!)
A fucking holy trinity board LOL
Wow, yes - prayer is the way, not a board.
gray is a good color
Bmore?
The board has a Goodbye Jesus area, I have a HEELLLLOOOOOO NURSE alert going off ever since I turned on this video
Edit: AND you're in Baltimore? I'm in Catonsville around the corner from Bills Music, on Edmondson. Bill just died earlier this week. So sad. Enjoy the snow we are getting any minute now. Be safe if you venture out
Love meeting fellow Marylanders!
Love the dress. I do that too. Just because I can
I'm so pleased with my bust reduction.
Brilliant! I want one!
8:50 Jessus with two SS
So is the Jesus supposed to be off limits to criticism through comedy?
Jesus told us we will be hated for His sake. Why waste time being offended? In fact, Jesus also told us to turn the other cheek and pray for those who persecute us. So if mocking Christians is your thing, do you boo.
Not actual purchasers…..
This is nuts.
So how about a magic 8 cross like the old magic 8 ball? This is really silly but probably only harmful if you take it seriously.
Sorry to be boring, but, as a Christian, I agree with my fellow Christians who gave this very negative reviews. Still hilarious as a product though, in a very darkly evil way.
Why evil?
Ouigi board for church people. Same concept. 🤷🙄
"A one-way ticket straight to heaven " sounds like it's going to straight up kill you. Also, if it's one-way, how are you going to get an answer?
