Moonbyul's way of rapping stands out so much for me, she rap with so much personality and its amazing how she can fit her rap into any type of song, i dont know anyone like her, she is amazing and of course the vocals, feels like heaven every time i hear Mamamoo sing, so much talent in one group, i have so much love for them, i just never want to be without mamamoo content, they make me happy. I also want to say that i love the way you react to Mamamoo content, that you dont just do every music video and then every dance practice and every solo song and so on, i really like that you mix it and not doing everything at once, perfect way to go through this Mamamoo journey and its really fun to follow it this way too!😊
I’ve kinda approached different groups in different ways and I’ve found the best way is just to do it the most natural way I think! Like you said it’s just more enjoyable this way ... and I feel like this is how we discover groups normally.... we watch and listen to stuff here and there. Glad you’re enjoying the journey!!!
I'm pausing on the Rude Boy reaction and I just think you may like everything Cosmic Girl/Cosmic Sound related. They work A LOT with Mamamoo so expect more of this and be ready everytime you hear the "Cosmic" at the beginning of a song. 🤣

Rude Boy's lyrics always get to me lol. Solar really likes this guy and thinks he's genuine but Moonbyul, Wheein and Hwasa are like "nah he's a fboy and basically messages us too at the same time" and it keeps going back and forth lol
And yes I love Spring Fever because its so raw with their vocals. The concert version is more upbeat.
Like everyone else said, “Selfish” is on the next album, but it does have an MV you can react to before the album reaction. BUT!! It’s a part of Moonbyul’s solo debut single, which has three songs: Selfish, In My Room (also has an MV), and Love&Hate (Acoustic Ver.). You could instead do a Moonbyul Special/Single reaction if you wanted lol.

Also, some information about Hwasa'a "Be Calm" is that her some close one passed away and she was so heart broken then she wrote the lyrics w those heartbroken feelings and added that vibe. She always almost cry while singing this song. You can just look through the lyrics anytime. But anyway this song is pleasing and i can feel emotions everytime:))
yeah, her uncle who she treated as a second father. the korean title translates more directly to 'becoming numb' but 'be calm' was used as the english translation for it

gosh spring fever is my absolute favorite mamamoo song just because they finally utilized moonbyul's low tones with the harmonies in an official track. but also mostly bcos of the way the girls harmonized with byul at the end when its usually the other way around :')

I feel like sometimes reactors are scared to say when they don’t like something in fear of being attacked? that happens to me sometimes when I react to certain groups and I know certain fandoms can be quite aggressive lol so it’s kinda understandable why some don’t... I’m also more comfortable with being honestly Cos even tho a song is not my vibe my passion for music allows me to still be able to appreciate, analyse and enjoy a good song! Gotta appreciate how dedicated you are in this journey and making sure to not listen to any songs that you haven’t already reacted to! I mean, it’s pretty difficult considering it’s MMM. Also, I recommend listening to Byul’s recent cover. I know you’re not big on ballads, but this is a huge hurdle that Byul overcame gradually with her confidence in her vocal skills. You don’t really get to hear her sing like this in MMM’s tracks.
The one Byul's cover recently that's not a ballad is nice too... it's called "Let's Go to See The Stars".
oh man, that intro is actually used at the start of the mv for "star wind flower sun" so you can watch exactly what happened to get the girls yelping like that (it's funny)
others have explained about solar writing "star wind flower sun" as a love letter to the fans (one of many she's written aimed at us) but she also wrote it as a love letter to the other three members, as well
and i get what you're saying about "starry night" taking you to a special place and that place would totally be different for everyone listening (...well, unless we watched the mv 18 billion times and just instantly get sent to new zealand because of that)
"be calm" has an mv if you want to check it out sometime, now. it was the first of a series of mvs directed by rbw producer park woosang. hwasa found out he'd taken up videography as a hobby and begged him to shoot an mv for her song. the budget was something like $20, the mv wound up with an intimate, lonely feel which is perfect for the song, esp if you learn the painful story behind it...
afterwards, moonbyul convinced him to shoot an mv for "in my room" and he also shot a short one for the acoustic verison of wheein's "easy", as well as her solo "25" on the white wind album
the story for "be calm" is an exceptionally personal one for hwasa. her uncle, who helped take care of her after she moved to seoul, had died in a car accident at the end of the previous year and she didn't take it very well. she wrote the song as a way of dealing with that pain
oh man, one of my favorite things about "rude boy" is watching it live. i mean, that's the case for pretty much everything mamamoo performs but this one is just special. the song itself is written as a conversation between the members, solar having fallen for a playboy who's stringing her along while the other three try to point out he's treated them all the same way... so they're literally talking to each other throughout the song, doing things like "yeah, he told me the same thing". and just the way they play around with that when singing it on radio shows and such
"spring fever" is kind of... in a way, complaining about love. how everyone starts feeling all romantic when the plants and flowers start blooming, they start pairing off. the girls start out about how they don't understand it but also wind up falling into it, too, wanting someone to pair off with. but it really is a mellow track the whole way through
"paint me" was actually a pre-release, kind of giving us a hint as to what the whole project was about, giving each member their colors associated with their four albums (yellow for hwasa, red for moonbyul, blue for solar, white for wheein) and it also was the official vocal debut for byul... she had sung before that, quite a bit, actually, but never really on any of their albums
and since you mentioned how cohesive this album was, i'd like to warn you that 'red moon' is quite a bit more disjointed, yet it still somehow manages to make everything work together. since it's the 'summer' album, they tried to incorporate different summer themes with different songs so they kind of jumped all over the place. there's fire and passion, there's ghost stories told over a campfire, there's the endless rainstorms
Hwasa's favourite song is also "Starry night" and "Destiny" so far of their career bcs they both have the same vibe and its her vibe. Actually these both are the BESTEST song ngl according to the genre
Star wind flower sun has an MV too which really shows the 4 of them just having fun with each other...you can watch it with english captions on as well for a fuller picture of the song. Enjoy!

The track after Egotistic, "Sky Sky", this MV reaction is a must for anyone in the Mamamoo journey. There is a reason this track is after Egotistic. Also, the tracks in the Red Moon album is sequenced perfectly to give the optimum experience.
Some moos absolutely love Sky Sky, some absolutely hate it, there's hardly any in between. You can put your trust in the moomoos for the next album. If Egotistic MV is fresh in your mind then only you are ready for Sky Sky (Probably the most essential requirement out of all in the Mamamoo history)

I love Spring Fever so much because Moonbyul is singing almost the whole time 😭 We almost never get her on a chorus so to hear her there and the sweet "somebody to love" at the end 😭❤️ I don't mind the idea of the Moonbyul and Seulgi song instead of a cover for her, as long as you do one of her covers eventually lol. She has some great ones and I reccomend Before U Go by TVXQ because there's a great quality concert video, and the newest Trying to Say Goodbye which is a ballad but she really shows off her vocals more than before. ❤️

Mmmm I'd like to suggest Byul's cover of Trying to Say Goodbye by Yountoven because gurl, not many rappers can sing like she does ❤️ Moomoos probably bawled their eyes out when this came out. Especially when you know her past coz there were songs that she wouldn't even get a single line because she was trained to be a rapper 😢 so when she released her first solo song, Worthless in the album, Purple (2017), imagine the old moomoos' reactions 😭

Star wind flower sun is a very special song for us because it was writen and composed by Solar and it was like a love letter for moomoos and also about the bond the girls have. It has an mv and it's really beautiful. In concerts is a really emotional song as you can imagine.
Starry Night is a song that gets better with time, at first I found it a bit generic but it's honestly a timeless song, it ages like wine.
Be Calm is a song that Hwasa made around the time her uncle passed and they were very close, if I'm not mistaken this song helped her go through the grief.
Rude boy is such a fun song and if I'm not mistaken the song is about Solar falling for a guy and the girls being like he's so rude hahaha the lyrics are a bit like a conversation between them. If you search for a radio perfomance for Rude boy you'll see moos in the comments calling it "lude boy" and I find it so hilarious.
This may be my bias speaking up but can we talk about how talented Moonbyul is? the color of her voice, how she sings and raps with the perfect emotion to fit each song. This was the first project where she had more singing lines and you can tell how much she adds to the beautiful vocals of the rest of the girls :)
I forgot to add, Paint Me concert version is hyper af because they open the concert with that song and they kinda switch the ballad sound for a more up beat one.

I just thought... Recommending the song WOW by MAMAMOO... it's an OST song from the drama WWW but NOT a ballad (I'm also not a big fan of ballads just not my thing). Just a thought I surprisingly really liked that song and I'm usually not into OSTs. That drama was good too! Strong female leads showing women can be leaders in the workplace!

Rude Boy was obviously going to be your fav track. I think your description of Starry Night as taking you to a place of memories of things that never happened is perfect - art is supposed to trigger your creative imagination, like the way you rearranged Spring Fever with a funky bass line in the chorus to suit your taste. I can see where you wondered what they ate for breakfast before coming up with Starry Night but Spring Fever is the song that made me wonder how they created such an amazing vocal arrangement over a basic, simple guitar track. This instrumental simplicity under an intricately woven vocal tapestry is a recurring musical concept in many of the songs on the 4 Season 4 Color albums.
Fyi, there are MVs for Star Wind Flower Sun, Be Calm and Paint Me. Imo each of those songs has a bigger impact if you understand the lyrics. Here's a few comments and opinions about those songs.
* Star Wind Flower Sun: Each symbol in the title of SWFS stands for one of the members. SWFS was written & composed by Solar (Moonbyul wrote her rap verses) for the members, the fans, their colleagues, and their families and at the end of the MV they included a message saying "We dedicate this song to all our precious people."
* Be Calm: When Hwasa wrote Be Calm she was thinking about her beloved uncle, who had recently passed away. Her voice is like a warm blanket hugging you as she sings you a comforting lullaby to ease your aching heart.
* Paint Me is the theme song of the 4S4C project. It's probably MMM's most extreme example of musical simplicity because structurally it's just a repeating series of waves rather than a standard ballad that builds to a climax. The story in Paint Me is all in the vocal journey they take you on and their singing hit me viscerally with each member's voice triggering a different part of my body like it was hot-wired to their vocal timbre. The MV is gorgeous and it introduces the members' color scheme and the emotional/relationship themes of the 4S4C project. The lyrics are very odd for what is apparently a love song and I agree with the theory that they're actually singing about their relationship with music. The song and the MV are deceptively simple but are actually as multi-leveled as poetry, like a haiku that explodes with meaning when you sit quietly and let it seep into your imagination. 💛❤️️💙💜

Other ones I'd rec btw are Wheein's dance covers (Lolo, Finesse, Be Like Me concert ver., or Runaway Baby w/ her drum solo), Hwasa's jazzy cover = Orange Colored Sky by Nat King Cole, or her Billie Eilish - Wish You Were Gay collab stage w/ Lovelyz' Kei or Hand Clap 4seasons concert ver.. For Solar 100% her Despacito cover + pole dance (on that same stage she also did Nicki Minaj-Chunli rap cover sometimes you'll find both covers in one video).

Awesome reaction and for the cover for moonbyul the song with seulgi will be on the red moon album from the 4 seasons so its your choice if you want to listen to it early or keep it for album reaction, but I would suggest the cover 'trying to say goodby'.

Yellow Flower is a top contender for me for personal favorite Mamamoo album haha! Spring Day, Rude Boy and Be Calm are some of my runaway faves. Also Byul sang so MUCH in this, for the first time! It was wonderful.
Re: Paint Me, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but believe it was cowritten by Ms. Kara Dioguardi, and other Western producers! That's a cool piece of trivia as generally Mamamoo and their agency tend to use their own inhouse producers. It really makes Paint Me stick out among their hefty discography.
As for the next vid, it sounds reasonable! but i would love for you to listen to a byul cover as well along with the other girls covers! since most of byul's recent covers have been ballads, maybe you can try the Happy Byulsday vid bcos that ones a cover as well! :D oh and as everyone has mentioned selfish would be coming up on the next 4s4c album red moon as well!

Be Calm is a really deep song, she wrote it regarding her late uncle and the lyrics are very touching especially when she mentions her Dads sayings. And the music video ending says "Even to live is an act of courage"
Spring Fever, Be Calm and Rude Boy are my faves off this album.

I love the heavy layered vocals happening towards the end of Spring Fever (Bom Ta). I think it's their producer's voice (Park Woo Sang).
And I agree with you with bass added in Bom Ta's chorus. I think they didn't want to outshine the bass vocal at the background... I might be wrong 😄

Mamamoo has the BEST Vocals in a Girl Group of Kpop in my opinion.
I love your reactions !!! When i listen to album bsides i usually get distracted and wait for something to catch my ears. But u taught me to just sit back and listen to the music. I did just that and relistened to mamamoo albums and i found some songs that i love now ❤️❤️
I love all of the 4 seasons albums, but Yellow Flower holds a special place in my heart because throughout the whole thing you can hear Moonbyul harmonizing in her lower register, most often with Wheein. Funny thing is their voices are so similar you could pitch one or the other up or down and get matching vocal tones and such. It was just a nicely arranged album wherein moonbyul's style took a noticeable turning point and I absolutely loved the organic sound they went with (aka the ever present guitar)
Side note, Be Calm kinda made me tear up when I finally looked up the lyrics and I felt validated when I saw the many articles praising hwasa's lyric writing
Side side note, you'd probably love the concert arrangements of all the songs you've heard this far and others considering they perform with a full band, horns included. Just an overall badass experience to hear them all live and accompanied by an equally amazing band.
