The truth about practicing your English speaking is that speech is the RESULT of how well you understand. So the more review you get of English vocabulary, the better you will become at speaking English. :)
So, the way we practice is simple: You focus on something and review it in different ways, with various examples of the target vocabulary, as well as examples of other things you might say to express the same idea.
Here's an example with the phrase "circle back":
I'll circle back to you with more information later.
Let's circle back to this topic after the meeting.
Can we circle back to that question in a few minutes?
I'll circle back with the team to confirm the details.
Let's circle back on this issue next week.
I'll circle back to you once I have the updated figures.
Can you circle back to me after you've reviewed the report?
Let's circle back on this point after we've heard from everyone.
I'll circle back with my supervisor and get back to you.
Let's circle back to this discussion when we have more data.
Next, we look at other words we might use in the same situation, or to express the same idea, instead of "circle back":
    Follow up
    Revisit
    Touch base
    Get back to
    Return to
    Check back
    Come back to
    Address again
    Re-examine
    Reconsider

Key points from the lesson include:
    1. **Introduction and Context**: Drew starts by setting up the live session, encouraging viewers to share their goals and origins. He explains that today's lesson will focus on speaking practice and how to engage in it interactively, even when practicing alone.
    2. **Input Before Output**: Emphasizing that fluency begins with receiving ample input, Drew advises learners to build confidence and overcome doubts before actively speaking. He suggests that as learners become more comfortable, they naturally begin to speak more.
    3. **Example - "Circle Back"**: Drew shares a personal anecdote about his daughter learning the phrase "circle back." He uses this example to illustrate how to learn new vocabulary through context. His daughter heard the phrase in a TV show, asked its meaning, and Drew explained it by providing the situational context and origin of the term.
    4. **Understanding Vocabulary**: He highlights the importance of understanding the context and origin of new vocabulary to internalize it effectively. For "circle back," he explains its nautical origins and how it metaphorically applies to conversations.
    5. **Three Levels of Understanding**:
    - **Exposure**: Initially encountering new vocabulary.
    - **Awareness**: Recognizing and focusing on the vocabulary.
    - **Ownership**: Feeling confident enough to use the vocabulary fluently.
    6. **Practical Application**: Drew suggests that learners can apply this method to any vocabulary. By paying attention to and focusing on specific terms, learners can recognize and practice them more effectively.
    7. **Alternative Expressions**: He provides alternative expressions that mean the same as "circle back," such as "come back," "revisit," "get back to," and "return." This helps learners understand the variety of ways to express the same idea.
    8. **Interactive Practice**: Drew encourages using these strategies in everyday situations, whether for professional needs, personal conversations, or any context where speaking English is necessary.
The lesson aims to help learners become more fluent by understanding and practicing vocabulary in context, thus enhancing their speaking skills through targeted and interactive methods.
