Hi Kenny - Thanks so much for letting me know that, buddy. I am really glad that yours turned out great. I carry an LCP too in the very same holster. All the best, Tim
Nice work as always Tim. Of course here our laws prevent honest folk carrying anything at all for self defense, so only the bad guys do! I hope our cousins in the USA guard every freedom well. Once lost they are gone forever. Best wishes, Mark.
Hi Andre - Absolutely. The press is a homemade one that I use when I make Kydex sheaths. I just got the leather damp and then clamped it in there. I left it in for about 3 or 4 hours and it just molded the leather to the gun's shape. You could use any foam. Mine is just a little bit heat resistant for molding heated Kydex.
Hey Tyler. I can understand that, buddy. If you have big hands it would be tougher to pocket carry with a holster like this. It always good to go with what works best for you.
So far I have not had that problem, but I wonder if it could be over a long time. The mouth is more critical I think. It certainly wouldn't hurt to do more sewing there and to add a few stitches to the muzzle.
I have to seal black dye so it does not rub off on clothes, hands etc. Did you use a sealer or wax to seal and water proof the holster? Looks great, I will use your video to make one for myself.
This dye is really dark brown. I wet the leather before I apply it and then put on several coats. Then I rub it with a cloth vigorously to take off any excess. Then I put a spray sealer on it.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I have a couple of questions I hope you don't mind answering. What weight leather did you use to make this holster? What type of adhesive did you use? I'm brand new to leather working and I think I might be able to pull this off, functionally not sure about fit and finish. Thanks!
Just made one for my Lcp using this video and it turned out impeccable, lots of great ideas in this video. Love your wet mold press

Cool. Let me know how it works out for you or if you need any info :-)

Hi Mark! I appreciate those wise words very much. I hope that you are doing well, my friend!
Can I ask about the press you used to mold the leather? Was it heated or just some special foam? How long do you leave it in there? thanks

I've never understood this style of holster, but then again my hands do not physically fit in normal sized pockets if I'm holding anything

I'd like to ask what the purpose of the threads on each side of the holster opening are for?
Also, what weight and type of leather do you use?
To hold the leather together since its 2 layers thick
Great work
Thanks, Ron! I appreciate you leaving me a comment :-)
Every day is a school day, lovely work Tim, keep the great videos up.
Thank you very much :-) I appreciate the encouragement.
Do the layers separate over time where they weren't sewn (around the mouth and muzzle)?
So far I have not had that problem, but I wonder if it could be over a long time. The mouth is more critical I think. It certainly wouldn't hurt to do more sewing there and to add a few stitches to the muzzle.
Do you reside in Sugarcreek Ohio?
Yes sir, I do :-)
The reason I ask is we have friends here in Florida that have a home there as well. I can route your info to them. My email is alias4ron@gmail.com

It is a fun project for you to try and not very complicated. I used 2 thin pieces of lining leather. I used contact cement to glue them together.
merry Christmas
Thanks, Jeremy. You too and happy new year.
