We had a Keurig and when it lasted less than one year we called them and all they had to offer was to sell us another one. They were really rude. So we went out and bought the Walmart Mainstays Single Serve. We LOVE it and have had it for about three years with absolutely no problems at all. We also love that the screen adaptor comes with it so you can use your own grounds and save on coffee and also on throwing away unnecessary trash. Keurig showed us their true colors and we will never buy another one. They are a complete waste of good money.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Gabriel Jordan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The big difference between the Keurig and Mainstays is the Keurig heats the water first and then pumps it through the K-cup. The Mainstays uses the same process as a traditional coffee brewer, a bubble pump system. The Mainstays has inferior flavor because the water simply dribbles through the K-cup verses the Keurig water being forcibly pumped through the K-cup. The extra pressure in the brewing process brings out the extra flavor.
I was wondering why my coffee tasted horrible in the Mainstay just like you said it dribbles not bring out the full flavor, going with the Keurig unfortunately I know all about them
This is why you'll get a watered down Kcup too. I grind my own beans. Lotta people don't realize these big mugs can get 14oz plus. You can get more than 14oz in it too it'll dispense till that resovoir is empty. Excellent machine to those that know this although. Does grounds perfectly and kcups well. Part of Keurigs trick is no more than 10oz per Kcup 🤣😉
I wonder if you can compare power consumption for each unit. Generally the Keurig will consume around 1200W. I wonder how much is the mainstays consumed.
Anywhere to buy the Mainstay's K cup capsule holder? My holder got lost and the Mainstay 1-800 number and the local Walmart's do not offer replacements for sale.
Hi! Just wondering if you tried using a refillable kcup pod for your mainstay coffee maker? I've read bad reviews in terms of putting ground coffee in the mainstay coffee maker. Thank u!
It is a bit pricey for basically the same pot. Though I will say the Keurig does do a better extraction but is it worth it...? Idk I would say to the average person, probably not.
Which reusable k cup is compatible with the Walmart mainstays single serve coffee maker? I bought the purple wire mesh from Walmart and although it is labeled as universal it doesn't fit.
Like you said in the video. There is not that much of a difference if any. My opinion save yourself a whole lot of $$$$ get the Mainstays. We have it and we love it. It satisfied us.
I bought one of these cheap machines awhile back as a spare maker for when I needed it. It sat aside for a long time, (a year or so) and it finally came time for me to have to use it for going out camping. It seems to take a long time to heat up the water and make the coffee. Plus, it is quite noisy while it heats the water and perks through the Kcup. Plus, when I turned on the maker, it must've had some kind of manufacturing remnants on the heating element, or whatever it is, because when I first used it, it had a "burning electrical " odor to it. The odor was so strong that I thought it might catch on fire !!! Thankfully it didn't, though !!! I used it a second and third time, and the odor was still there, but, not as strong. Still, though, it is quite noisy when it makes the coffee. Another thing is that the place where you pour the water in DOES NOT help with measuring the liquid because the water just goes straight into the bottom part of the machine. You have to pre - measure your water in your cup !!! And, when I compared the taste of coffee from this machine and the small Keurig I have in my inside kitchen, it definitely tastes better from the Keurig machine. Therefore, I give this Wal Mart maker a 2.5 to 3 star rating because of those things. It'll do in a pinch, but, there are probably much better K-cup makers out there . 😉
I have had consistent problems with my Keurig K mini clogging. This is annoying as you never know when it will work or not. Constantly clearing the needles with a paper clip and descaling. The first one I bought didn't work at all, returned it. Wish I hadn't bought another.
You should like it. I also will suggest the Hayden that I just did a review on. A little nicer looking imo and just as easy to use. Remember to try and use low tds water and it should last a lifetime!
Do either of these store water in a tube line like the traditional Keurig? I don't make coffee everyday and I have concerns of mold growing in the line over time. I would like a single serve but I do not want to risk mold. I also do not want the task of having to drain it if I'm not going to use it awhile
The good thing about the Keurig single is it only holds water for 1 cup. It doesn't seem to retain any inside either. Not sure about a tube holding water. When you start it, it makes noise pulling the water inside to heat, so I think it gets totally cleared. I use only RO water and don't put it in the tank until I'm ready to brew. I know you're not supposed to do that, and I don't know why, but it keeps all your tanks clean with no mineral buildup. Another thing with the Keurig single is the brew temp. I knew this going in, but it is somewhat of a problem. Others said they were getting 165 degrees, but I am only getting 160-165. I would like it to be higher. Don't know anything on the Mainstay but he said it was the same. Also, the Keurig has a "strong" button which I always use. I think it slows down the water for a longer extraction. Maybe that loses a couple of degrees.
Fill your cup or 14 oz mug, with water, then pour it into the Mainstay. No need to measure, you know exactly how much water fits. And use the refillable mesh cup instead of the plastic trash disposable K-cup, and you can adjust strength, save money, or custom blend flavors.

Yea, there's alot of marketing out there trying to tell you how to make your coffee, unfortunately. There is a difference but I feel that not that big for the average person. My favorite so far is Aeropress, I think you would taste the difference on that one.
Just throwing this out there anyone have the farberware single cup coffee maker and what paper filter works best in it ? and if you used paper filter did it fit perfectly in the coffee grounds cup or did you remove lid permanently to use the paper filters ? only asking this cause the flip top on the coffee ground cup is flimsy ... which has no bearing over brew or taste just an observation. As for using the refillable cup and washing it in between ? that is a whole lot of unneeded work for a cup of coffee i want to toss the filter and be done but not buying K-cups at current prices to avoid ..
Slightly watery on Kcups dont over fill your mainstays as you can get 14 to 16oz in it and itll dispense what ever is in that resovoir. Most Keurigs will dispense 10-12oz max. Probably more pressure on the keurig as well. Grounds are perfect i like grinding my own beans mostly and it works well for that with the reusable holder. Had to many newer keurigs fail so i said done with this. Almost bought a kettle again ans a pour over and french press. Too lazy for that although. I like single serves and griding a few beans for a cup. Having the KCup ability is just a plus. For $20 this does kcups and grounds well but I think its better for grounds. At the end of the day you wont notice much of a difference between a more premium model. I do agree with this video although. To combat a slightly watery kcup most if its because people are using 12oz plus. Use less. No more than 10-12oz. For grounds it holds plenty for a big mug. Dont go much above the max line. I find that to be about right for a perfect cup
Ok, nice video compare on these 2 machines. The Keurig ought to be at least 2x as good as the Mainstay for their prices. I mean, really, a $20.00 machine vs a $100.00-ish machine. My question is: Does the Keurig make 5x as good a cup of coffee? I'd say that it sounds like the slight difference of taste does not warrant 5x the price difference.
Not necessarily, It just has a more pronounced taste, probably just from the way it brews more completely than the walmart brand. The Coffee itself will be what makes a strong coffee. Hope this helps!

Lol it almost seems too simple right? I think you nailed it though. Coffee is generally a simple concept but its sold to be difficult of confusing. Its all about quality and timing. So if the timing is off when the water goes through the pods it can make a big difference in the end product as well as the size grind and quality of beans and water for that mater that you put in it. So that being said its simple and for these machines more than likely you will use simple coffee and help keep your life simple at the same time!

I kinda think that Keurig coffee maker is over charging for it's product as it tend to have more bad reviews to it compare to the cheaper one with tons of good reviews. People been having problem with the Keurig single coffee maker going out with in a few months to a year which to me isn't worth the money they are asking for since both pots taste the same.
I’m not sure about the mainstay coffee maker. However this Keurig you have here is a piece of trash. This machine I’ve had maybe two months and I’ve made less than 5 cups of coffee and it stopped working completely, it was having intermittent trouble by the second cup, now won’t even brew. I’ve had three other Keurig’s and never had these issues but this is a small little piece of expensive garbage
Hot Shots Catering I’ve had the B40, B60, K40, we have one at my office, I’m not sure what model and I also had a Brevell BKC600 that worked well. This mini brew is the first Keurig I’ve actually bought my self. All my others were hand me downs from friends who upgraded and they worked well, the only reason I decided to buy this one was I was trying to maximize my counter space.
For keurig machines it is recommended that you use purified drinking water and not tap water. I don’t have a keurig myself but we use one for our college age ministry at church.
So you have had a total of 4 Keurigs so far ? evidently you seem to have issues with change ? Im sorta old fashioned I expect my coffee maker to last a minimum of 20 plus years. if its only going to last 1 year then im gonna google how to make a jailhouse coffee maker and fashion one from scrap household items. at least unlike its jailhouse cousin I will not have to hide it in the toilet when not in use .

I’ve had three other Keurig’s and never had these issues but this is a small little piece of expensive garbage
Candice Thames thats interesting, are you using a K cup or the coffee filter adapter? Also which Keurigs did you have before?
Hot Shots Catering I’ve had the B40, B60, K40, we have one at my office, I’m not sure what model and I also had a Brevell BKC600 that worked well. This mini brew is the first Keurig I’ve actually bought my self. All my others were hand me downs from friends who upgraded and they worked well, the only reason I decided to buy this one was I was trying to maximize my counter space.
Don't be so rough with it.

The Mainstays version, over time, begins to take on a distinct "gluey" flavor.
Glue... Yum... 🤤🤤🤤
talk too much, you can cut to half time. also it seems dumb, you even dont show how to put in and take out and wash etc.
Edit!
I give you a thumbs down because i wanted to see keurig vs mainstay, insteed i just Watch a video of someone making reviews
