You're right, punk is one of the funnest styles to play. Not the most complicated or show-offy, but other than maybe jazz, I'd say it's the best style where can let loose and have fun without worrying too much
this is super useful. thanks man! your videos are always so straightforward and it makes a beginner like me understand so fast. you always explain so well and with a lot of patience. don t understand why your channel doesn t have more subscribers cuz it s so fricking good and informative. keep up the good work and i look forward to more stuff. ^^
Aw thanks Laura... Super appreciate the kind words... Really glad I can be of help to you... Look forward to hearing more great news about your awesome progress... Thanks Laura
That 'right left kick right left kick' fill is super useful thanks. My main problem with playing fast punk drums is my right arm and ankle getting too tired. Any tips? I am talking 160+ bpm
Great question Peter... Yes, my suggestion is 1) practise 100bpm for 3 minutes without stopping.... Then do the same for 110bpm, 120bpm, 130bpm etc,,,, 2) Watch your technique.... Use your wrist more, not your arm... Let us know how you go...
Thanks... Its pretty basic but works well. Using audix microphones. At this time I was using a tascam 1800 digital interface (now i use a barringer box) going into a laptop. I use cubase.
Hi Finn... On this kit there is a High Hat, Ride Cymbal, 3 Crash Cymbals, a splash, a china splash and a china cymbal... They all have a different sound and purpose... On my website I have a video that goes through ALL the kit drums and cymbals in depth...
These are very good things to learn on drums. That is a lot of reverb. Anyone learning these fills is NOT going to have the resources to sound like this. Hope that does not discourage them. I suggest not practicing with heavy reverb. Maybe a little but that's a LOT of reverb. REVERB is for Rockabilly. Also when your learning you don't usually have the best equipment. If you do start with awesome gear. (like this guys drum set) Your missing the point of what is Punk Rock is. IMO. Most Punk rockers can't afford 1000 bucks for cymbals. So if your recordings don't sound polished with nice effects. GOOD your doing it right. That's Punk Rock. also there are no MUST LEARNs' For Punk Rock. Just my opinion I understand that if not for click bait titles no one would see the video and you can't teach people that can't find your videos. Your doing good keep teaching.
