Haha, you said âthe silent manâ right before they go into their musical reference to âThe Silent Manâ which is the third and last part of the three part suite âA Mind Beside Itselfâ which in turn consists of the very song you were reacting too, in chronological order: âErotomaniaâ, âVoicesâ and âThe Silent Manâ. Was your reference to the silent man coincidental, or intentional? ð
It was intentional. Iâve never heard it but I knew that among fans some speculate that the silent man is referring to John Myung
@@intoxication415 Ah, I see, but if youâve never heard the song âThe Silent Manâ, how could you possibly know that they play a part of that song in âErotomaniaâ? ð
@@almarhulsegge1859 My dad had mentioned that the silent man, erotomania, and the voice were all apart of each other and were supposed to be one song that the record label wouldn't allow. Came up in a conversation about how This Dying Soul, Root of All Evil, Repentance, Glass Prison, and Shattered Fortress are all structured together as one giant art piece telling a story that spans albums. Mostly cobbled together by Portnoy. Although it's all hearsay from him!
