New Chelsea boss Graham Potter has issued Romelu Lukaku an ultimatum regarding his future at Chelsea as the striker edges closer to an exit. Lukaku was heavily linked with a permanent move from Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku struggled upon his return to the premier league, and time under the German soon ran out, which saw lukaku relegated to the sidelines and was lukaku shipped back to Italy on a season long loan at Inter Milan.
However, while Lukaku is set to return to a new head coach at the end of the season following Tuchel's sacking, Lukaku still faces an uncertain future at the club.
Chelsea do not want to take back Lukaku who doesn't fit the profile of what Potter typically demands. However, if reports are to be true, Lukaku doesn't want to return to Chelsea upon the end of Lukaku's loan at Inter. And, after leaving on bad terms, a return seems unlikely for Lukaku regardless of the new Chelsea boss'plans.
Meanwhile, Roma are lining up a loan move for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in January.
Chalobah was strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge over the summer, but chalobah remained with Chelsea.
Chalobah has another four years left to run on his contract with Chelsea, having signed a contract extension last November, but there is currently uncertainty surrounding Chalobah's future at the club.
Chalobah, a former England Under-21s international has only featured once this season, playing the full 90 minutes against Leicester City in the Premier League on August 27.
Chalobah is likely to leave the Blues on loan during the January window, and Roma are currently at the head of the queue for Chalobah's services, with the club's head coach Jose Mourinho keen on a deal for Chalobah
A permanent exit for Chalobah is not being considered by Chelsea at this stage, but the club are willing to let Chalobah leave on a short-term basis when the winter window opens for business.
