My parents worked 70 hours a week to provide me and my brothers everything we needed including paying off our college educations. No one forced them to do that. They did it out of love and still had time to enjoy their lives with vacations and travel with us. They didn’t waste money on stuff that didn’t matter.

I'm also very curious to know sort of labor these workers do. What is the skill level requirement? I was a research assistant (now a PhD student) at a cancer research institute, which requires a lot of intellectual skill, and I was content was almost half that pay.

The reason that “partial communism” is the norm, and typically still retains a government, is because they have to keep their people in check and make sure that the country can sustain itself because if not it’ll stay at a stalemate from the lack of incentives and therefore motivations as no one truly owns anything to call their own to be working for it. That’s why they end up being the most totalitarian, since they need to make sure that doesn’t happen and can only do so by making their people completely reliant on them. That’s why true communism hasn’t been tried before, and why close variants of it which has been tried before ended up disbanding.

@@theoverunderthinker Frito Lay has had to pay out lawsuits over this in the past (not this specific factory). When you commit a crime the goal is kind of not to get caught. You would only take a few dollars or cents out of employee paychecks and eventually that would add up to millions you didn't have to pay out. Wage theft is a very common problem and it usually goes unaddressed.

The main point that never got brought up is that 20 of those 60 hours would be overtime pay, which is 1.5 times their base wage. So let’s round the lowest number mentioned ($18.35 per hr.) up to $20.00 per he. just for ease of calculation here. That would be $30.00 per hour x 20 hours + the $800.00 per week of regular pay. That comes out to $600.00 + $800.00 = $1,400.00 per week. That’s then $1,400.00 x 52 = $72,800.00 per year. So, Soyboi Squash, it WOULDN’T be $40,000.00 but would be almost DOUBLE that amount. Where does $72,800.00 fit into the income demographic chart, Soyboi? He didn’t bother to mention ANY of the overtime pay being calculated into that. MANY people would LOVE to be earning $72,800.00 per year, so I don’t know what Vaush is on about. He seriously needs to LISTEN and do some calculations before making ANY assertions.

I love getting overtime, even more so back when my hourly wage wasn't that high. I was able to make 75k a year in my early 20s and 100k a year in my late 20s, due to working tons of overtime. I am now in my early 30s and leveraged my hard work and good reputation to make over 100k a year without overtime.
It’s sad that some people don’t realize that there are other, highly motivated people who are happy to do what it takes to make a better life for themselves. All while not realizing they’re part of the camp that actively discourages industriousness, and indulging the lazy in handouts.
I work on a remote mine site doing 12 hour days for 4 weeks with a 1 week break, and I absolutely love it. I’m making a ridiculous amount of money for someone in their mid-20s with no prior experience or qualifications (other than a few tickets that I was allowed to get AFTER being hired). I think that because vaush is on the spectrum, he finds it hard to see things through other people’s eyes, and he views the world through the lens of his own experience. The reason that “partial communism” is the norm, and typically still retains a government, is because they have to keep their people in check and make sure that the country can sustain itself because if not it’ll stay at a stalemate from the lack of incentives and therefore motivations as no one truly owns anything to call their own to be working for it. That’s why they end up being the most totalitarian, since they need to make sure that doesn’t happen and can only do so by making their people completely reliant on them.
That’s why true communism hasn’t been tried before, and why close variants of it which has been tried before ended up disbanding.

You would only take a few dollars or cents out of employee paychecks and eventually that would add up to millions you didn't have to pay out. I love getting overtime, even more so back when my hourly wage wasn't that high. I was able to make 75k a year in my early 20s and 100k a year in my late 20s, due to working tons of overtime. I am now in my early 30s and leveraged my hard work and good reputation to make over 100k a year without overtime.
It’s sad that some people don’t realize that there are other, highly motivated people who are happy to do what it takes to make a better life for themselves. All while not realizing they’re part of the camp that actively discourages industriousness, and indulging the lazy in handouts.

"Libertarian socialist" is an oxymoron. Those are contradictory ideologies. Libertarianism necessitates minimal government involvement in the affairs of citizens, while socialism necessitates heavy government involvement.
Earning $40,000 per year (pre-tax) is pretty damn good for making chips and putting them in a bag.
You have to figure that some folks are making twice as much and likely not doing much more work-because union.

Such a pairing is impossible. Libertarians believe in as little government interventionism as possible. Socialists believe that the government controls (to varying degrees) everything.
Libertarian is a leftist ideology everywhere else in the world except America. It was started by leftist but conservatives stole the term. You can even read the Wikipedia article

@@kitty7184 the left wing does not at all have a monopoly on anti authoritarianism. The word you’re looking for has no place on the right-left hierarchy. Libertarianism came out of the enlightenment and questioning the rights of government. Liberal ideas, but not leftist ideas.

Read their articles, the way they glorify left-wingers versus the way they demonize right-wingers. It's sad but Wikipedia has become a political tool just like most of MSM.
