That’s a beautiful Jag Jay. The red/tort combo is classic. A close second for use with a Fuzz Face is definitely the Jazzmaster. I have to say I didn’t know about the tone pot trick, I’ll have to give it a try with my Jag.
Damn that look is fine. Never been a fan of the Jag for basically recycling the look of the Jazzmaster (which I love) but I've always been interested in those pickups and electronics.
As an always on fuzz face guy, you’re giving me a lot to chew on. Also, I checked out your single on Spotify. It’s a great tune I’ll be eagerly awaiting the full record! Congrats man!
No, that is a different beast with the tone knob. Keep an eye out on the page. I have a vid coming out soon about the crazy uniqueness of the Jaguar Tone Knob ;)
Ok, I tried to play around with fuzz and my Japanese jaguar. Interestingly, it doesn't change sound nearly as dramatically when I turn the volume/tone down or apply a strangle switch. Maybe vst amplification(yeah I don't use a real amp) is not that great after all, or maybe I do not set it properly. I don't think the guitar is the issue here. Even tho my jag is a Japanese one, it's a "traditional 60s" line model(as I understand, basically an AVRI but made in Japan), so it should be very close to the original specs. This guitar is great nonetheless. Sounds cool and looks cool. Just weird I can't replicate the same behavior.

Excellent. And thanks for using a Jaguar with Jaguar controls and circuits, instead of something diluted with a blade switch masquerading as a Jag.
Perfect tone! So versatile pedal with a Jag.
Very cool Jay! Almost makes me want a Jaguar! 😎🎸
Do it ;)
Nice review!! Fender Jaguar rules!!
Awesome, man, now I understand what a great guitar the jaguar is! Congrats.
They are fantastic guitars! I've been going down the rabbit hole with them over the last 4 months :)
incredible video
Wow! Yeah same here. I’ve been playing LPs for 45 years and never knew how the jag worked!!🤣
you make some good points. This is a good demonstration
Thanks!!

you should do the same video you did with the Jazzmaster with the jaguar - about the in's and outs that people might not know
Not only is that the plan, but I even have ANOTHER Jaguar Tone Lab video coming out soon.... I'm obsessed with these guitars!!
I have been thinking about building one but with a very different kind of single coil, and this video galvanized my plans.
I'm a recent Jaguar convert, it's an insanely versatile guitar
bruhh ang galing gagi!!
Is Jay Filipino?
@ 4:31 J Mascis popped into my head. Have you heard the song ‘Sludgefeast’ by Dinosaur Jr ?

I really appreciate it... Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and I hope you dig the record when I drop it :)
Jazzmaster. You can even hear the individual strings through the Fuzz. Just as versatile as the Jaguar.
interesting.
that’s a pretty Jaguar
Makes me wonder what the Yamaha Revstar focus switch does when it interacts w/the fuzz face :)
Never really gave the Jaguar a fair chance. Very interesting video. Would this be equivalent to 50s style wiring in LPs?

Nice. Did you go to NAMM
Yeah! I hosted the Dealer Awards for them this year :)

It has to be the pickups since Japanese pickups especially offsets are not vintage correct and sound completely different.
Might be your fuzz? This video is focusing specifically on the fuzz face style of pedal (not Big Muffs, Tone Benders, etc)
Well crap, now I need a fuzz face. 🤣
Do it, haha ;)
My Classic Player Jaguar was a disaster with any fuzz or distortion.
