Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WABCO 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, 3 pairs of Federal Signal 12x20 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs, and a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell.
After catching Amtrak 89, I decided to hop down to this crossing for my next train, since I knew a southbound was coming and the next northbound was still a ways away. After about an hour and a half of waiting, I was able to get my fifth train of the day: CSX M401 with a YN2 AC44CW leading an SD70MAC for power! Admittedly, these were the same locomotives I saw leading M400 the day prior, but it's always great to see a YN2 locomotive leading, IMHO.
This crossing is another great one, featuring the second of the three remaining gateless crossings on the A Line. This one features another early-70s SCL install, which has been well modernized over the years. In the early-1980s (I believe), the SCL replaced the original mast lights here with WABCO 12 inch lights, though I believe they may have originally been 12x20s. Later-on in the 80s, it seems, at least the front-left mast light on the far signal was replaced with a reused Federal Signal 12x24 inch light, and the WABCO lights had their backgrounds upgraded to 24 inch ones as well. Then, in the late-90s, CSX replaced both bells here with the current GS Type 1s, and the left-rear mast light on the far signal was replaced with the current Safetran 12x24 inch light at about the same time. Finally, sometime between 2012 and 2015, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED.
Thankfully, despite all of these upgrades, this crossing still retains its pair of older Safetran cantilevers, both of which still retain all of their original early FS 12x20 inch light heads on the overhead arms. The GS Type 1 e-bells here are great to see as well, and I'm glad to have been able to record another pair of them. Hopefully CSX leaves these signals alone for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad to have been able to record them in action.
Also, at the start of the video, you can hear a fire truck responding to a call about a man, who was waiting at a building behind me, who was apparently bit by another person and in need of medical attention shortly before I got to this crossing. The ambulance at the end of the video was responding to the same call.
