His first appearance he was using movie-style special effects(as that was his career before becoming a villain) but since then he's used much more advanced tech to do illusions on a grand scale.
This guy is mainly responsible for the look of MCU as we know it. I'd say he's as important as Kevin Feige. Can't wait to see how he redesigns X-Men and F4. No black leather suits for sure!

@J Foster The stones aren't "destroyed" as in they don't exist anymore, they were just atomized. If the stones were truly gone the universe would fall apart because they are what keep the aspects of the universe in check.
Mysterio is one of my all time favourite comic book characters and that's partly thanks to his spectacular original design from Steve Ditko. I never assumed they would run with this for the film, but I was absolutely tickled pink to see how faithful they were with his design and feel extremely lucky.
My only change to Quentin Beck in this movie is to remove the beard (even though it might give away the so called “twist”). I just want some night crawler scenes, that’s all.
"It's easy to fool people when they're already fooling themselves" Mysterio is perfect villain (just like Thanos). His illusions are very effective and impressive. Fight between Mysterio and Doctor Strange would look phenomenal. Yes I know, Mysterio doesn't have a chance with Doctor Strange.
Magda Mysterio would one-shot Strange with ease. Strange has normal human durability, normal human speed, and he has no feats that give him a chance against Mysterio unless he gets tons of plot armor and Mysterio doesn't actually use the drones to attack.

Timeyin Sholaye Goddamn Black Widow fought Thanos too. Thanos wasn't trying to kill him, and Doctor Strange could only distract him. He did no actual damage, and he was lucky that it was a face-to-face fight. Fighting mysterio would be nothing like that.

This was the worst movie ever in Marvel history. They never even had Spider-Man fight Mysterio especially the with suit. The whole movie was about drones. SpiderMan 2004 still remains #1.

It might just be me, but there's something about the combination of chest armor, red cape and Jake Gyllenhaal's bearded look that kind of gives off a Roman emperor vibe.
This is one of the things I love about the MCU, they’re not afraid of embracing the outlandish elements of their comic origins for these movies. With a lot of movies you almost feel like the filmmakers are embarrassed to be making a comic book movie but Marvel seem to know more often than not how to make it work.

The genius of the fish bowl is it that it looks like it goes through the neck. It makes him look like he's half ghost and the fact he flies and creates illusions makes the character look cool despite a risky choice.

Obadiah Stane, Whiplash, Destroyers(from Thor), Loki, Winter Soldier, Dark Elves, Ronan the accuser, Yellow Jacket, Ultron, Crossbones, Vulture, Shocker, Hela, Killmonger, Claw, Thanos, Ghost, and of course Mysterio. Nearly every villain in the MCU has some metal on their bodies, whether it be tech or armor.
They took the look from the animated series 😭 90s babies unite I never read the entry for mysterio in the comics but he was introduced to me through the animated series
I think Mysterio in the film looks the most original to his comic origin compared to all other villains shown in the MCU. I’m so glad they sticked with the original design and just gave him a majestic makeover!

Yeah, it is. Regular mysterio has limbs which look thin and gangly while having a wide body. This metallic plating on the body sticks out and sucks. The fish bowl looks out of place. They should have made a head-friendly design, but their designs suck as well.
I love Ryan Meinerding design I always check what he does and can only dream to have a job close to his and a place even a little as half of his in the big marvel picture, this guy is truly talented and have to work on designing exciting and iconic characters for the big screen! Must be such a honor, love all his work I hope he and all the creative team keep on with those fresh takes on marvel characters
@Atharva Gokhale they actually did build a suit. For the majority of the filming Jake was in the full costume. It’s only when either in the scenes it was mapping holograms to it (flying, the rehearsal scene etc) or in the Mocap/Reality suit where it was apt. The costume had real battery operated lights in the suit & cape. But the helmet was CG’d on for the transitions of helmet to regular. True they didn’t have to build a suit, but I’m so glad they did because it looks DOPE
I really want to see the designs he did for the VFX suit that Quentin wears. The fishbowl as the interface monitor is ingenious. I really love that costume.

Mysterio was aptly translated and seamlessly integrated into the MCU while keeping close with his comic book origins. Really cool.

Since Mysterio is my favorite Spidey villain I was SO happy to see his comic version faithfully adapted to the big screen. This man gets a huge thumbs up from me. Now, if they can just get Zemo right for the Bucky/Wilson show...

Yeah, it is. Regular mysterio has limbs which look thin and gangly while having a wide body. This metallic plating on the body sticks out and sucks. The fish bowl looks out of place. They should have made a head-friendly design, but their designs suck as well.

I love Ryan Meinerding design I always check what he does and can only dream to have a job close to his and a place even a little as half of his in the big marvel picture, this guy is truly talented and have to work on designing exciting and iconic characters for the big screen! Must be such a honor, love all his work I hope he and all the creative team keep on with those fresh takes on marvel characters

@Atharva Gokhale they actually did build a suit. For the majority of the filming Jake was in the full costume. It’s only when either in the scenes it was mapping holograms to it (flying, the rehearsal scene etc) or in the Mocap/Reality suit where it was apt. The costume had real battery operated lights in the suit & cape. But the helmet was CG’d on for the transitions of helmet to regular. True they didn’t have to build a suit, but I’m so glad they did because it looks DOPE

the movie did a great job of capturing the mysterio vibe. was happy with second half. THE FIRST HALF felt alittle slow but overall happy.
