Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this tutorial with great insight!!!!!!! You wouldn't believe how many hours I have wasted researching this topic and reading material that just don't make any sense to me until I come across this video.
Mate, I just wanted to thank you soooooo much, and so sincerely, for your great tutorial. I have (very) long waited for a clear, concise but nevertheless precise techically and comprehensive explanation of the differents types of networks in VirtualBox, and what they meant precisely. Your explanation is just : * easy and simple to understand * with loads of graphics that are really helping * very precise technically * very comprehensive * very pedagogical, but without any undesired simplifications All what is needed , and just what is needed. Other tutorials on the internet that deal with this specific theme are sooo confusing, it is unbelievable. Nice to see how much things turn to be clear, when you know what you are teaching. Congrats, and I repeat : MANY THANKS, 👏👏👏 You made me win soo much time
Thanks for this video. It helped me a lot. Unfortunately my memory is so poor in things technology that I will have forgotten it all by tomorrow but I wont forget your great video and will have to watch it all over again.
Am so thankful for your explaination I have spent my almost my time searching for these stuffs but with no response and better understanding Much thanks sir
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch my video! I'm glad to hear that you found the solutions I presented to be clear and helpful
The best detailed and simplified 101 I've ever seen.. Thanks Matan. ובעברית :) תודה על הסרטון, אתה מסביר בצורה מושלמת, הלוואי ויהיו הרבה אנשים כמוך שככה מסבירים.
Bravo sir! Amazing explanation!! I was trying to route my traffic from one VM to a VM running a VPN then out to the internet. Bridged seems like the best way to do this. My goal is to use the VPN server to encrypt my traffic then use proxychains to change geolocation to eliminate the captchas when using tor.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad that my explanation was helpful to you. I hope you achieve your goals but it's worth noting that using a VPN and proxychains together can slow down your internet connection
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch my video! I'm glad to hear that you found the solutions I presented to be clear and helpful 🤝
Thanks for the explaination. How does port forwarding change the game for NAT and NatNetwork. Is it possible to SSH into a NAT or a NatNetwork from outside the network?
Thank you very much for the great explanation! I have one question, I need two VMs to be connected to each other, and one of these two to also have Internet access at the same time. Based on the video, I should be able to achieve this with a single adapter using "NAT Network". However, I cannot access the Internet for some reason with the default settings. Is there any additional step I need to take to enable the Internet access?
So if i use NAT and connect host to VPN, will my VM have VPN but don't know that it use a VPN ?( I want to change my location and don't want websites to know i used VPN) Can you help me?
Say your hosting a gaming server on VB and your trying to get people to join do they also need to download VB and set it up to connect or can you do it through the game launcher ?
i dont understand why on NAT option I dont have internet access from VM via windows. I have enabled DHCP address automatic obtain on host-only adapter on windows. the IP address of host-only adapter on windows is 10.0.2.15 just like the IP on linux . i can ping the host os from VM . So i dont understand why the nat not working. On a different linux VM on VirtualBox (mint) the nat works great! can you help me ?
I use another way to set up network. It based on host-only network, windows host as gateway. Windows can share network from one to another network card,. I share wifi to the host-only virtual network card, and all vm join this host-only network. Set up dhcp and make sure the gateway ip is the virtual network card on host(windows will force change it to 192.168.137.1) VM should be able to access network, and since it is the host-only network,vm and host can communicate each other
Thankyou so much sir. I was confused on having same ip address for different VM s on NAT. Watched many videos and try to understand. All was waste of time. But your explanation gives what i wanted. Thankyou so much again. 🤩🤩🤩 Also, can you suggest which adapter should i use to study cybersecurity with Kali and metasploitable vm s in virtual box. I am a beginner.
The only thing which I'm not sure of understanding is why would a VM on a NAT network have the same IP adress as a VM on another network? What's the reason behind this?
It might happen, but there is no guarantee that it will happen. Think of it like that - assume that you have a router at home. The router is connected to your isp and it creates your local home network. Assume now, that your neighbor also has a router at home. Remembering that each router defines its own local network and also serves as a local DHCP server, it’s very possible that your laptop and your neighbor’s laptop have the very same IP address. The two routers are not aware of each other and can’t know which local ip addresses the other router has assigned. There is no way to know in advance whether or not your laptop and your neighbor’s laptop will have the same IP address, as they are in different networks. That’s also the case for vms in different NAT networks. Every VM is behind its own virtual router and the routers assign IP addresses independently. It’s possible for the two VMs to end up with the same IP address and it’s also possible they’ll have different IP addresses.
@@absprog Thanks, makes sense said this way. Those IP adresses are local to the network, but they are not the ones used to connect to the Internet, is that right? Or else, you would have several VMs sharing the same identification. I think they have the host's ip if I'm not mistaken.
Brilliant explanation, thank you. No other videos out there can touch this.
Glad it was helpful!
By far the best explanation
But what I want is “ allow host to get internet throughout a whonix gateway only. With virtual box
